The Flat Adventures of Weird and Ninja

Love reading the adventures of you and Howweird!!

Just curious would you recommend a visit to the Liberty Space Center ?(if you had to travel a distance - like outside Philly area.)

I see it when I travel to Newark (which is often - not by choice work calls.) So I was curious. Looks really cool for the kiddie's just not sure I can deal with the NJ turnpike and kids too. Let me know you thoughts.

I'm glad you guys are back together. It seems like you make a great pair. :goodvibes

The freeze game looks pretty fun!

The freeze game looks pretty fun!

Yes it does!

I'm sorry, I don't really feel like reading all that I missed. I still have a pretty bad headache from the flight.

I love this thread!!! Wish I had joined VMK while it existed so that I could have a flat. Can't wait to read more!

Based on the interplay between you two on this thread, I was wondering why you were "just friends"! Blessings upon your reemerging/developing relationship! :goodvibes

Ah, yes. Reminds me of how, when I was doing study abroad in Oxford and we traveled to the mainland for a "tour" of Munich, Stockholm, Paris, and Rome, we were told to drink only bottled water because our bodies wouldn't be able to handle the microbes in the tap water, and it'd wreak havoc on our digestive systems. Well, I listened to that and still got sick. Touring Neuschwanstein Castle (which the Cinderella Castle is based upon) was so NOT FUN due to that.

Probably TMI, so moving on!

But what about the dolphins? Have we learned nothing from Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

I'm betting this would be a 123 moment for me if I could see it!

Ah, that's right up there with other literary classics such as Walter the Farting Dog and Everybody Poops. Children today are much more well-informed than I was. :rotfl:

Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Thanks willwriteforears! It's always good to have readers that not only support us by reading but support our relationship as well! Haha, it seems that we were the last people on the boat to realize that we should be more than friends but at least we finally realized it! :goodvibes

It's funny how you mentioned that castle because I was doing a bit of research (haha, or wiki, whatever you want to call it) on the MK castle and I saw the reference so I looked into that as well. It really goes to show that architecture is just copied from all over the world. As a professor once said, "Chances are, what you're doing is not original. It's been thought over and invented by someone, somewhere in the world. Your job is to improve upon it and make it your own." Haha, slightly discouraging but I've come to realize that it's very true!

Oh, it's not only dolphins that can communicate, that's for sure! Ants (Bug's Life), gorillas (Tarzan), elephants (Dumbo), lions (Lion King), fish (Finding Nemo), and even occasionally cars communicate too! Oh LSC, you should take lessons from Disney! ;)

I recently saw a picture from the book Everybody Poops and I immediately thought of you! Haha, that sounds rather disturbing but you know what I mean. Hopefully. :goodvibes I also remembered that I have two books from the Who Pooped in the Park series that I bought from Hong Kong. Gotta dig those books out and take pictures!

Glad you're still reading! :thumbsup2

Aww, so glad to hear you two are back together :goodvibes Romance and physical attraction are good things to have, but it truly is the friendship that is the glue that holds a relationship together. My DH and I will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary in Sept, and I proudly call him my bestest friend :cloud9:

:goodvibes Thanks pooh! We certainly have the romance and most definitely the physical attraction (I mean, look at her, she's beautiful!) but our friendship is definitely something that I would not sacrifice for the world. Congrats on your anniversary coming up and it's always inspiring to hear about married best friends!

Wonderful new adventures!
Sounds like you are having a fun summer!

I am glad you two are back together! :goodvibes
Reading your posts to each other and about each other, it sounds like you make a great team.

Haha, I'm not sure if we covered this in an earlier post so forgive me if we did. It's funny that you called us a great team because that's what we called ourselves FTA (First Time Around)! Team HowRae to be exact. Since we are both second children (let me get a woot woot from second children! woot woot!) and we share a lot of common interests, it really is like we're a team. More recently we've come to realize that we really do support each other like a team so it makes even more sense that we're Team HowRae! Thanks for reading!

Love reading the adventures of you and Howweird!!

I see it when I travel to Newark (which is often - not by choice work calls.) So I was curious. Looks really cool for the kiddie's just not sure I can deal with the NJ turnpike and kids too. Let me know you thoughts.

Let me see if I'm understanding this the right way because Ninja and I are not completely on the same page about this the last time we talked about it. Are you coming from Philly on a regular basis or do you mean if it's worth it to make the trip out here specifically? From what I can tell, it would really depend on your trip time. Since it is still the summer and there are still summer programs going on, the center is pretty much silent from 9am-10amish. So if you get there at opening time, you can have a lot of the exhibits open to you and your kids for a good amount of time. However, what we found was that since there are summer programs, a lot of them bring the kids to the center. What does that mean for you exactly? It means A LOT of kids in their summer program t-shirts running around, occasionally being rude at exhibits, etc. However, I don't know that that can be avoided and since they don't stay for a very long time, they're usually on their way out of there by 3pm, which then gives you another 2 hours of peace and quiet.

So overall, you do get a lot of time and you don't have to feel rushed about any of the exhibits because a steady 9-5 visit there gives you more than enough time for going through the exhibits, getting lunch, bathroom breaks, etc. If you do decide to go, I would highly recommend stopping by the Skyscraper exhibit ASAP. Not just because I'm in architecture and that's pretty much MY exhibit ;) but there are the cool things such as a curtain-wall test that we didn't get to try out because they run the machine about 4 or 5 times a day only. In that machine, you get to experience what the curtain wall of a skyscraper might experience. In words that you'll understand better? You get to be the "skin" of a skyscraper, meaning you'll experience the elements of intense rain, wind, and a 2x4 hitting you at a tornado speed. I'm kidding about that last part, it was just part of the video that I saw that made me laugh because it seemed like that's what they were going to do to the people inside! :lmao: Anyway, I would definitely recommend going there and getting a pretty good experience. There are a lot of things that aren't just oriented to the kids but to adults too. Definitely have to consider the trip-time, but I would give it a :thumbsup2 for a go!

I'm glad you guys are back together. It seems like you make a great pair. :goodvibes

The freeze game looks pretty fun!

The freeze game was definitely fun! It was a real challenge because as silly as it seems, we actually got nervous when the leopard stops and looks at you!

I love this thread!!! Wish I had joined VMK while it existed so that I could have a flat. Can't wait to read more!

A new reader! Awesome! Welcome and I'm glad you love this thread! Thanks for reading and look out for more adventures coming soon!

Yes it does!

I'm sorry, I don't really feel like reading all that I missed. I still have a pretty bad headache from the flight.

That's okay Goofy! Plenty of time to catch up since we haven't had too many adventures recently! Hope your head is feeling better! :thumbsup2

As I said, we haven't had many adventures but here's a random picture that I haven't posted because I had wanted to surprise Ninja with this puzzle but to my dismay, it was missing one last piece! I started the puzzle the day that I told her that I liked her again and planned on giving it to her on our first date. Good idea right? Well, it would've been a good idea but it was missing a piece! How sad. I sent the stuff in for the replacement so hopefully it will be here soon and then Ninja and I can work on it together instead!

IMG_0587.jpg

We recently finally went to see Wall-E! Great movie, we made a lot more inside jokes now, esp since Ninja's mom thinks that she's really mean to me, just like how Eve is to Wall-E! Haha, I won't give away any more of the movie in case there are people who haven't seen it just yet but I definitely grabbing your nearest best friend (or in my case, my only one ;) ) and going to see this great movie!

IMG_0618.jpg

IMG_0619.jpg

Haha, I know these are only pictures from the website but we didn't get a chance to take pictures at the theater! Maybe next time! Did anyone see the trailer for Bolt? :goodvibes

How weird ;) we got one of those puzzles to put together at Christmas last year, and it too had a piece missing. Never thought about sending it back :headache: Mostly everyone accused DH of taking the last piece (it is a well documented fact that he does actually do this) however, he swears he never did it (this time)

Better late than never, as "they" say. :thumbsup2

Nothing new under the sun. It's the same with stories, really. People have been telling each other the same stories for ages--the differences we're left with now is generally in the execution.

Oh, it's not only dolphins that can communicate, that's for sure! Ants (Bug's Life), gorillas (Tarzan), elephants (Dumbo), lions (Lion King), fish (Finding Nemo), and even occasionally cars communicate too!

:lmao: And we can't forget teapots, teacups, candelabra, and clocks!

Hopefully. :goodvibes I also remembered that I have two books from the Who Pooped in the Park series that I bought from Hong Kong. Gotta dig those books out and take pictures!

Never heard of Who Pooped in the Park. I will try not to worry that I will always be associated with Everybody Poops from here on out. :rotfl:

I used to love jigsaw puzzles when I was younger! Now I feel like I don't have the time for them, sadly. It definitely stinks that the puzzle was missing a piece, but I think you and Ninja working on it together is a good alternative. :goodvibes

Yes, pooh? :goodvibes I actually used to take the last one when I worked on puzzles with my family ages ago. Once we got close to completion, I made sure to have a piece hidden somewhere so I could be the last one to fully complete the puzzle ... problem was, my sister would have the same idea! Maybe it's time you got another puzzle to make with DH! ;)

Better late than never, as "they" say. :thumbsup2

Very true! "They" are so smart! :goodvibes

One thing that's great about Disney, it just never really gets old! :thumbsup2

:lmao: And we can't forget teapots, teacups, candelabra, and clocks!

And foxes, hounds, bears, turtles, cats, and mice! :woohoo:

Never heard of Who Pooped in the Park. I will try not to worry that I will always be associated with Everybody Poops from here on out. :rotfl:

:lmao: Guess I'll be associated with asking and you'll be associated with just accepting that it's done by everybody!

Thanks! I think the idea has great potential too! I might just take a longer time on purpose ;)

QUICK NOTE: Guess where Ninja and Weird went yesterday?? Well, you'd be correct if you guessed the World of Disney Store! Pictures to come!

Thanks for all your comments everyone! The comments wishing us well are very thoughtful and sweet. I'm guessing that Weird already replied to everyone already since he's been doing the last few posts. I actually haven't been on this thread to post because I tried giving my TR some attention! Plus, every single time I'm on DIS, I end up subscribing to new threads and it gets so insane. Too bad reading and posting on DIS can't be a paid job ...

But I digress. Thanks for continuing to check out the adventures even when we're not so great about posting them all. And yay for new readers! Welcome Jacob! It would have been cool if you had flats too. Then you could have taken great pics with your mom at MNSSHP (hopefully I got those letters correct!).

Anyway, I just stopped by to post a little teaser picture, but I see that Weird already mentioned it!

QUICK NOTE: Guess where Ninja and Weird went yesterday?? Well, you'd be correct if you guessed the World of Disney Store! Pictures to come!

IMG_3935.jpg

Yep, we did go to World of Disney! We got back late last night so Weird hasn't yet uploaded his pictures (and he has more of the flats photos this time than I do because his camera does better in low light environments). I got so excited while in the store already knowing what captions to write on the flats pictures so stay tuned! We'll have lots of other WoD photos too ... even a few character meets in "The Friendship Room"!

I know the World of Disney post should be next, but considering it's a longer installment, I'm going to put a shorter beach installment first! I don't know that I have the patience to do a longer one because I was supposed to have a colonoscopy today, but it was cancelled! Wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't already drank the first bottle of the c-scopy prep yesterday! Arg. Now my stomach is just NOT happy and there's no purpose so ... just arggg.

This past Saturday, I had to go to work to give tours for prospective students and families. I only had to give one tour so I still had 1 hr and 40 mins to do nothing. Well, not exactly nothing because Weird came with me to keep me company so that we could go to a church beach gathering afterwards. We played Scrabble while we were waiting.

IMG_3945.jpg

IMG_3946.jpg

Lots of fun and laughs. It was odd having to pull out our own tiles and then attempt to keep our own score. We're used to playing Scrabulous on Facebook, but alas, no more Scrabulous because Hasbro sued and blah blah blah ...

After work, we picked up Wendy's for lunch, went back to my house to get my mom and all the coolers and to change into non-work clothes and then we were off to Jones Beach!

We had fun in a competition to see who could bury his or her feet into the sand more to be shorter. Weird added these thought bubbles to the picture, which is actually quite accurate!
BEACHDAY003-1.jpg

After a bit, I finally pulled out of my sand and it was fun to be taller for a bit! I pranced and skipped around DBF for a bit just because I can't really do that anywhere else. We took a picture and he made it into a "poster." Photobucket and Picnik are lots of fun!
BEACHDAY004-1.jpg

Haha yes, I'm aware this is a FLATS thread, and not technically a thread for us, although you can tell it has kind of morphed into a mixture of the two. But Weird and Ninja really enjoyed the beach ... probably more so than we did. I wasn't that much of a happy beach goer since I was holding the hands of two of the younger girls in our church so they wouldn't be knocked down by waves. Unfortunately, in an attempt to keep them upright when a big wave came crashing towards us, I felt the weight on both sides of me, lost my balance, and we all went under for quite some time! What does that mean? Sand EVERYWHERE. I was pulling mounds of it out of my suit! And it seemed like my nose was manufacturing sand after that too!

Thankfully, Weird and Ninja don't have to deal with sand in the nostrils. They are properly laminated!
BEACHDAY011.jpg

Their favorite part was going to buy a bucket of yummy fries and devouring it with ketchup and sweet and sour sauce.
BEACHDAY010.jpg

After the few hours at the beach, it was time to go. We split up to go get dinner. I was craving sushi so that's where Weird and I went ... haha, and my mom. She and Weird are good friends too, but she still felt like a third wheel. Aww, my poor mom. She doesn't like raw fish or eel either so not much enticed her ... but it was yummy for me!

BEACHDAY020.jpg

Ninja really enjoyed the spicy tuna roll. And all that avocado ... YUM! I think Weird and Ninja need to go out and have more adventures. Don't you think so too?

I love your new avatar pic! It's such a sweet one of you and Weird. :lovestruc

That stinks about your colonoscopy being canceled. At least because you had to drink the stuff for it first, and now you'll have to do it again. :crazy2:

I play Scrabble rarely because I'm not all that good at it. The irritating thing is that whenever I tell people I'm not good at it, they think I'm trying to lure them into a false sense of security or something. Um, no. I'm just deflating your expectations. :rotfl:

Weird's captions are hilarious! And it's nice to know that the flats, at least, were able to stay sand-free even if their real counterparts did not.

Reading about things like this makes me wish I lived somewhere with a coast instead of landlocked Colorado. But I know from experience that I'd miss the mountains if I did. Hmm. Maybe I should consider California...

Looking forward to hearing about World of Disney! :thumbsup2

I love the picture turned poster of you guys! I'm glad all four of you had a great time at the beach.

I miss Scrabulous on Facebook too! (Even though I could never beat anyone!) DBF told me they were redoing it to get around the lawsuit. Did they do it yet?

A few days ago, I posted two pictures from Weird and my trip to Liberty Science Center with the virtual graffiti walls. Here are just a few more pictures (flats and non-flats) from our fun day of learning! Haha, that was said with absolutely no sarcasm because we actually do like learning things like this.

Weird and Ninja were very excited to spend the day at LSC in Jersey City! They were looking forward to spend the entire day there to see every single exhibit.
IMG_1097.jpg

Here they are with the Hoberman Sphere in the background. They renovated LSC for a while. Beforehand, a huge one used to be the center of attention when you entered the building.
IMG_1040.jpg

This is in the entrance way above the ticket line. Pretty lights!
IMG_1095.jpg

One exhibit was called "Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear." It's one of the summer exhibits so it won't be there for long. From the website: What triggers our deepest fears, and how do our brains and bodies cope with danger? Find out by braving creepy animals, loud noises, electric shocks and the fear of falling, all in a safe, educational environment. Getting scared has never been so enlightening.

Little Weird didn't want to take a picture next to the brain size because as a flat, it's a little small. Instead, here's the real Weird!
IMG_3681.jpg

This is the "Freeze Game." The point is to catch the fruit falling from the tree with your arms. If the leopard sees you, you have to freeze. If you turn red ... well, you're dead meat. We were doing pretty well except for the fact that my younger was purposely moving around in front of us so that we would be eaten!
IMG_3687.jpg

Another exhibit was called "Infection Connection." From the website: The idea that germs cause disease is only about 150 years old. Yet today, medical investigators called epidemiologists can track how illnesses spread from person to person and across the globe. Find out how while discovering ways to live a healthier life and help others do the same.

Weird and Ninja needed a break from exploring so they sat down to watch a presentation called "What's in Your Water?" This girl came out and talked about all the gross things that are in our drinking water and then she showed us the filtration system that can be used (seen on the table in the back) that doesn't cost much. I think the most interesting thing she showed us was the LifeStraw, which has the filtration system inside the straw so that people in other countries can drink directly from things like puddles!
IMG_3764.jpg

There was a part of the exhibit about the germs in other parts of the world and whatnot. So they had airplane seats set up in front of the screens where you could pick your destination. Where did we want to go? Florida! Unfortunately it wasn't an option (haha, only went by countries). Instead, we just pretended that we were on our way to WDW!
IMG_3755.jpg

This next exhibit called "Communication" was actually my favorite of the entire science center. From the website: Communication
Language and the ability to communicate abstract ideas may be the single most important trait that separates humans from other animals. Learn about how human communication has evolved from handprints on cave walls to the digital tools that link us today. (This is where they had the virtual graffiti wall.)

I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to write with quills!
IMG_0971.jpg

Testing out the phones!
IMG_3737.jpg

Etch-a-Sketch?
IMG_3725a.jpg

Weird and Ninja really liked the section called "Digital Details."
IMG_3733.jpg

Weird and Ninja feel at home with the pixels! They are, after all, made up of them!
IMG_3734.jpg

A small demonstration of how pixels work.
IMG_3732.jpg

One of the Weird's favorite exhibits was "Skyscraper! Achievement and Impact." From the website: Skyscrapers are one of the towering accomplishments of modern civilization, and what better place to learn about them than in view of the world's most spectacular skyline? Our premier new exhibition gallery is larger than some museums devoted to the subject!

Can't you see the excitement on that little guy's face?
IMG_1094.jpg

Haha, you may not be able to see the excitement on his face, but trust me, it was there. I had a feeling, and he said afterwards that he didn't know why he made an excited face when he wasn't facing the camera!
IMG_1092.jpg

The real Weird knows about buildings and such because he's in an architecture program in school. However, I know absolutely nothing. Well, I do know a few things, some learned from that exhibit! Haha, those pointy things on top of buildings are called spires (although to me, they looked the spindle in Sleeping Beauty!).
IMG_0994.jpg

There was another part of LSC called "I Explore" but that was for kids aged 2-5. I thought it was cute that they have a space for them to explore on their own with things that are fitting for their developmental rate. Weird and Ninja wanted to go in there but they're too young since they're actually only a little over 1 year old. But they still really liked the bridge!
IMG_1059.jpg

Lunch was a little hectic because there were so many kids there with day camps or summer camps. Weird found the room in the back that's quieter and emptier and with a great view! We went outside on the observation deck to take pictures after lunch.
IMG_3771.jpg

Outside was an exhibit called "Wildlife Challenge." From the website: Could you survive as a wild animal living among the streets, sidewalks and sewer pipes of the urban jungle? Find out at Liberty Science Center's first-ever outdoor exhibition. You'll crawl, climb and claw your way through the challenges that face urban wildlife every day. Are you up to the challenge?

Here we're in the bigger rat tunnel. The "real" rat tunnel was reminiscent of the Touch Tunnel (that's no longer there!). It was dark and hot and it was a little scary to be crawling through it! My younger brother zoomed through and he was wondering what was taking us so long. Haha, bigger people require more time and energy to make it through on all fours!
IMG_1052.jpg

Our last stop was Connections, the gift shop! Haha. This book was so funny. It's called The Gas We Pass: The Story of Farts. Yes, we read the whole thing!
IMG_1069.jpg

And lastly ... I snagged his wrist, hehe ;)
IMG_1080.jpg

Okie dokie. There are a ton of other non-flats pictures, but so as not to bore you, I'll call it a day! Have a wonderful Thursday!

Wow fun adventure Ninja

I love your new avatar pic! It's such a sweet one of you and Weird. :lovestruc

I actually didn't see it until you mentioned it willwriteforears! Haha that was actually my favorite picture until we took the one at the beach. Actually, I like taking any picture with Ninja so they all rank pretty high in terms of being my favorite! :goodvibes

:rotfl:

It totally stinks because I thought she'd be done with it by now too! And then I have to do mine (I have the same thing as Ninja, not sure if she mentioned it) so it's like, comon! What if it gets canceled for me too?! :sad2:

I would actually think you're good at Scrabble! Haha you should play it with your own rules. With your amazing writing ability, I'm sure you'd be able to narrate such a symphony with those letters! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Thanks! Haha, I like knowing that I'm not the only one laughing at my corny lines!

California is actually really nice. The weather there is always sunny, there's the beaches right there and then of course Yosemite not so far away either. Let's not forget DLR! Haha, why aren't people flocking to California and Florida, I'll never know ...

I love the picture turned poster of you guys! I'm glad all four of you had a great time at the beach.

I miss Scrabulous on Facebook too! (Even though I could never beat anyone!) DBF told me they were redoing it to get around the lawsuit. Did they do it yet?

Thanks irky!!

Oh man, we really miss Scrabulous on Facebook. (I could never beat Ninja but after a while we just played and made words to flirt with each other ;) ) We did move over to the email version of it though, which is almost the same ... just through email. As far as I've read, the makers of Scrabulous are just ignoring the lawsuit since they have no US assets for Hasbro to seize. Maybe you can switch over to the email version of it! :thumbsup2 Let's just pray that Hasbro doesn't get their dumbo corporate hands on it!

As a prequel to a WoD entry (it's coming, I know, edge of your seats, etc.) I just HAD to post this up because it totally made my day. We were looking at books at WoD and we saw an Imagineering book, so naturally, as the architect of the relationship, I wanted to look at it and I told DGF that I had wanted to get it but just never got around to getting it, so she told me "borrow the one from the library for now ..." Now, 9 days later, what do I get in the mail from B&N? The Imagineering book!!

IMG003.jpg

How wonderful is Ninja?! Wow, I love her. I have such a smile on my face (STILL) because she makes me so happy. :lovestruc

I went on Kingda Ka for the 15th time this summer, I love great adventure, yea don't use the bathrooms much lol.

You can add me to the list of Michael Vartan fans. woot!

Awesome! Vaughn definitely makes my day a brighter one in the episodes when he's with Sydney.

I went on Kingda Ka for the 15th time this summer, I love great adventure, yea don't use the bathrooms much lol.

Haha, that's insane! I can't even look at it without freaking out!

Apologies for the long absence! I've been really busy lately. Well, okay, not really busy, but actually doing things other than sitting at a computer. I went on vacation to Williamsburg, Virginia for a week (oh how I missed DIS during that time!).

The real Weird and I have also been trying to spend as much time together as possible since work and school start for both of us next week. Though we didn't make it to the American Museum of Natural History (umm, I kind of got too scared!), we did finally see Wall-E (haha, like a month after it came out) and this past Saturday we also saw Spamalot!

Haha, that time also included my eating dinner with his family (minus his sister) at his house and his eating dinner with my mom's side of the family for my grandparents' wedding anniversary! Those were firsts for us as we've never done that before! I was really nervous to eat with his parents, but fortunately I survived. It's not that I was really worried about being with them, it's more because I have issues eating with people I don't really know. His dinner with my family wasn't as big of a deal just because he knows my family pretty well from church. Plus, my cousin's girlfriend also comes to all of our family events too so he wasn't the only non-family member.

Anyway, since all that stuff has been going on, I'm very delayed in the World of Disney post! Weird and I both took pictures on our separate cameras so I'm not going to be going in chronological order. I believe he has more of the flats pictures (since I was the one moving the flats around) so I'll post starting from his first.

On a Sunday after church, we took the subway over to World of Disney! We took a pause on the way to sit by a fountain, but mainly to just take a picture! Weird and Ninja miss the fountains from VMK.

A little bit more walking and they were there! YAY! Of course, it's not the same as WDW, but it's as close as you can get while in NY.

Lovely NYC. I really liked this shirt design, but I personally wouldn't wear a shirt that said NYC on it since ... I live here.

Gotta love NYC though because of Broadway! Lion King is absolutely AMAZING. It's probably my all-time favorite Broadway show (that and Wicked). My mom, on the other hand, loves Beauty and the Beast because she thinks the storyline is better (or because we just HAD to see it a second time just because Donny Osmond was playing Gaston, haha). I think Weird would love both. That's another thing on our to do list, Disney on Broadway!

This is a view of the 2nd floor from the 3rd floor. I think the 2nd floor was the most kid-friendly with the toys and stuffed animals and such.

The 2nd floor also had the Mr. Potato Head parts. I actually went to WoD thinking that I would get this, specifically the NYC parts. I wanted to have a Mr. Potato Head in my homeroom classroom and change his outfit every Monday morning or so. But I ended up not getting it because they didn't have the NY specific parts. Plus, the pieces looked chipped, probably from the wear and tear of being touched all the time. Lastly, I didn't know that the box that would've cost $19.99 was that small! Oh well!

Weird and I enjoyed the 3rd floor of WoD the most because it was fine art floor. They had paintings and figurines. They also had the Disney Precious Moment figurines that I absolutely love!

This is my favorite Disney princess PM figurine ... Belle! Because she's reading and all! I guess you'd expect that from a former English major and current ELA teacher. What would my kids say if I chose otherwise?!? Haha, just kidding. I always loved that Belle was a reader ... even though the town thought she was so peculiar ...

And of course, this is the one I love the most ...

I'm not going to jump the gun and say anything more ... hehe. Let's just say Weird and Ninja liked taking this picture.

They also had the Disney figurines that cost a great deal of money in the glass cases. We took a lot of pictures here. This was one of Weird's favorites because he's a Tarzan fan.

What weirded me out about the 3rd floor was that they put Cruella right by the elevator! Thankfully we took the escalator up instead! Otherwise I would have freaked out when the elevator doors opened and I saw this!

To be continued in the next post ... haha, because I have dinner ...

Glad to hear all's well! I'd been wondering what happened to you and Weird.

Your comment about not wanting an NYC shirt because you live there reminded me of our "Native Coloradan" bumper stickers. I've never understood the point. What do they mean--"I was lucky enough to be born here and smart enough to stay, unlike those who are transplants or stupidly moved away"? :confused3

And after that I realized I just made a rhyme. Not particularly clever; certainly not Poe-esque. Oh well. There's a reason I don't do poetry! :rotfl:

The Belle PM figure is very cute! I always liked that she was a reader, too, and I'm so mad at myself that I never got the DVD while it was out. Now I have to wait till 2010 for it to be released from the vault, or cough up the dough to buy it from someone on eBay. :headache:

And all I have to say regarding the wedding PM figure is wink wink nudge nudge giggle giggle! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more from World of Disney! :goodvibes

Hey willwrite! It's always good to see you comment because we know you really care! :goodvibes

I do agree that the Belle PM figure being cute. I think when B&B came out on DVD, I wasn't very into getting the DVDs just yet so I know what you feel because I don't have it either! 2010, is it? Guess I know who else will be pre-ordering it! ;)

Hahaha wink wink nudge nudge? :thumbsup2
