Hey FIRMies!
Today's my day off from exercise, but I just wanted to check in and wish you all a great Sunday!
Hi sue! You know, I always looked at the clock when I started working out longer than a half hour or so, too! It took me a while to get used to longer videos, and now I feel as if I'm cheating if I don't exercise for an hour. It did take me a while to get into that mindset, though. I was so unbelievable unfit, both muscularly and cardiovascularly, that I couldn't even make it through 30 minutes without stopping often to catch my breath and untangle my feet--very discouraging at times. I am the last person whom I ever thought would actually ENJOY exercising, but with an increased fitness level came increased fun.
I think it's great that you want to up the length of your workouts, and getting up earlier shows how committed you really are! Sue, I'm so proud of you for working so hard and being so dedicated--you're quite the INSPIRATION yourself, girl!
Hi Lisa (ZP)! Oooooo, that Body Sculpt is KILLER and always leaves me sooooo sore the next day! And the lower body portion has....HOVER SQUATS!
You should feel great about yourself for making it through that workout--it's really tough! Once when I was doing Body Sculpt, ds8 (who has a big-time crush on Jen Carmen, the instructor) said, "Mommy, why don't you smile when you exercise like those girls on the video do?"
Took all my strength to hold in what I really wanted to say to him... Lisa, I'm so proud of you for all your hard work and committment! How bad do you want it, girlfriend? YOU WANT IT BAD!
Hi Cheryl
and a BIG WELCOME! If you're looking for inspiration to get back into FIRMing again, you're in the right place! We'd LOVE to have you join us! I think alternating Firm workouts with your treadmill use is a great idea! You'll be getting great cardio from the treadmill, and if you use your Firm workouts that incorporate weights, you'll get the best of both worlds! Strength-training and cardio are the perfect combination, and alternating different types of exercises will keep you from getting bored (and as toystory said, don't forget to give your body a rest day--it's so important to have time to rebuild those muscles!). You're in training for the marathon?! That's awsome, Cheryl! Please join us here when you can--we're all here for the support, encouragement and motivation of each other--and we'd love to have you, too!
Hi toystoryduo! I like Cardio Sculpt Blaster, too, although it took me a while to get the moves down (nothing new there!). For some reason, I was (and still am sometimes!) ending up on the opposite side of the FL when she does one of the step portions.
I saw Lisa on the new infomercial (sorry, I still haven't heard of any new times!), and she looks stunning--her body, and especially her legs, look amazing! I didn't know how important the right shoes were until I tried to do step workouts with running shoes! The runners were so flexible that my ankles kept rolling over whenever I'd move side to side, or step off the FL. I bought "fitness" shoes, too--they're much more sturdy, and really hold my feet in place. You keep up the FANTASTIC JOB you're doing, Tracy! You are JAMMIN"!
Has anyone heard from Melanie? I hope she's OK--the last time I heard from her, her little boy had been ill. Melanie--we're thinking of you and sending you lots of good thoughts that everything's alright...
I plan on doing Complete Aerobics + Weight Training tomorrow. If Melanie's not here, I'm sure she wouldn't mind if one of us started a new thread: The Firm Check-In Week 3.
Have a Super Sunday everyone--WE'RE GROOVIN'!
