The financially irresponsible WDW trip! [June 25th: p.45, posts 668 & 669]

Sorry to hear BB was a bust! I guess 2 hrs is cuttig it short!
Looking forward to CP- it was so wonderful for us ~

Great report! I am loving it. Thank you so much for sharing the memories with us. Your family is beautiful.

DebIreland,

I am absolutely LOVING reading your reports! :cheer2: I really feel like I'm there with you! The details, the feelings, the humor, the snags, the joy--it's all there. You're a great writer.

And the trip has just barely begun...I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the rest--and I'm sure we'll be long gone on our own trip before you make it to week two of yours! :rotfl: That's okay--you can't rush perfection! Take your time and get it all down. It will be a wonderful to look back on in years to come.

Have you recovered from your jet lag yet?

-Sue :wave2:

what a wonderful TR!!! I am so enjoying reading this! you make Disney just come alive!

I so agree with you on the absurdity of trying to walk around and behave normally while wearing a swimsuit. I absolutely can not. :p

byoung - Thanks! :)

averill94 - We adore Crystal Palace. It was one of a few restaurants that we simply had to return to on our second trip. Last time was dinner and this time, breakfast. We loved it! :goodvibes

Vivsmom Such kind words - thank you. :cloud9:

Sue - Yay! Glad you're still with me. Thanks! It took me two full weeks to get over the jetlag. :faint: Your trip is getting closer!!!!! :woohoo:

Tina - Yay! You're still here too - thanks for sticking with me.

mom2aandj - Glad I'm not the only one with the swimsuit 'issues'. :lmao:

I am loving your trip report. I can just picture it happening. In some parts I am reliving my trip at Christmas with a two year old.

I also feel for you on the man who made a comment to you in the drink line. I had a discussion with a man on Christmas Morning at the CP. I wish I had not said anything to him but he had been so very rude to a couple of young children from the UK that I had to step in and stand up for them. He accused them of cutting into line when we were in line for about 15 minutes for the buffet because of a power outage in the MK. He was the one who had cut in. I know the children's parents appreciated it but it kind of put a downer on the magic Christmas Day/Birthday my daughter was having.

I look forward to hearing more.

Beachwarmer - I know what you mean - even the smallest encounters can impact the magic. Thanks for reading along :woohoo:

I really am loving your trip report!!!! It's so detailed and I love the pics... so your family is so cute. GIVE US MORE! :sunny:

Don't be upset with yourself over BB. At least you went, even though it didn't turn out okay. Kids have a way of saying, "we didn't get to the water parks"-then you would be stressing about not getting there.
Keep the posts coming, really enjoying your TR.

DebIreland, I totally agree with you about the water parks. I hate walking around in my bathing suit, especially after having children. So, when we go in December, we will not be visiting the water parks. This will be my children's first time to Disney and I "forgot" to tell them about the water parks, oops.

Hi Deb!
Hope you didn't mind the "gentle push" ;)

What a great installment. I totally feel you and how those darling little 2 year olds can push you right over the edge. I have found myself in tears over DS2 little antics!

So would you recommend BB or Typhoon Lagoon for toddlers? I may do both, but would love your thoughts.

Again, beautiful children and I love the dramatic Alice! She is, after all Princess! princess:

The best one would have been River Country--I'm so bummed that they've closed it! Of the other two, we thought BB had no shade--I'd vote for TL, if it's not being renovated while your there!

Julie & Mari - thanks!! :flower3:

amamed1 - you're so right not to tell them. Who need the humiliation?! :lmao: I won't breathe a word. :ssst:

Sue - thanks for hanging in there with me. You must be beyond excited at this stage. :woohoo:

DisneylandMama - thanks for the passive aggressive, er, I mean GENTLE push. :lmao: I would definitely suggest Typhoon Lagoon - it's much nicer in my opinion than BB and the kiddies play area is so much more detailed and fun! Also, the wave pool there is fantastic!! Not for the young ones of course but for the grown ups and older kids. Oh man, I just got a visual there of Waldo in the wave pool - it's hard enough to locate him at the best of times. :rotfl: Oh my! You simply must go there. :teeth:

I'm finding it difficult to write our next day cause I don't want to admit that I was a cranky cow on that day too and yet, I don't want to lie. :lmao: I feel so guilty when I read the purely magical TRs where it's all about the peace and the harmony (lol!) and then a memory pops into my head of me shouting "come ON! For chrissake the itinerary is going to pot'. :sunny: Between you and me, the hormones were in overdrive or underdrive or whatever way they go that causes mental and emotional meltdown - for the first 3 days. If I can get past Friday 27th, we're home free, er, almost... :bitelip:

Now, that would be a picture worth a thousand words!!
Can't you just see him bobbing and rolling around in the waves, haphazardly taking out every man, woman, and child in his path? :rotfl: Be afraid, people, be very afraid!!!

Deb!
I have finally caught up! Fantastic job! (You, not me. I merely got to read and generally don't pat myself on the back for that :rotfl: ) And I will say what so many others have already said...your children are beautiful. As for your mood, I for one, can't imagine the jet lag/heat/exhaustion/excitement and new dietary inclusions NOT having an impact on your day. Can't wait to hear more.

Loving your other side of the pond point of view.
Sitting here, listening to the sleet beat down and enjoying the warm weather you describe. We're going for the first time one yr from now and love hearing all the experiences you had.
Keep up the great writing.
Angela

Still love your report!

I was in the Country buildings at ASMu on my last trip, and WOW, that is a long walk! (Plus, could they have picked a less attractive shade of brown to paint the buildings?) Still, I *love* the Music resort! It's so much quieter than Movies, and the little extra touches, like the fountain area by the Jazz buildings, just make it so charming!

sharkB8HooHaHa - Thanks! :flower3: What a marvellous job you did catching up. T.R. reader of the week! :teeth:

Angela - Thank you! Are you from this side of the Atlantic too? I swear our trip feels like a lifetime ago sometimes - the rain, dark and cold today made me yearn to go back so much. :guilty: Some day... some day... :)

Crystal - Yes! That horrid shade of brown.

It looked ill! We're so into music in this family but not country western but it was all good in the end. lol!
Your trip isn't far away!! Bet you're excited!! :) Thanks for sticking with me!

I'll attempt to get Day 3 (is that all I'm up to???) done very soon!

By the way - I somehow managed to unsubscribe from my own thread. How sad is that?? :lmao:

Awesome TR! I love your pictures! Although, after your first-hand report about EE, I don't know if I've got the guts to go on it in a couple of weeks! Can't wait to read more!

-Michelle
