The financially irresponsible WDW trip! [June 25th: p.45, posts 668 & 669]

I absolutely love your report so far! :goodvibes
You also have another fan of your itinerary... very easy to read. :thumbsup2
Can't wait for the rest!

No worries, I just copied yours :rotfl2: It's not quite as awesome, but my husband thinks I'm nuts!

We didn't find Ireland THAT expensive, but we had been in Italy recently so we knew what to expect re: the exchange.

I will say we splurged for two nights at the Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare and that is the MOST I have ever spent on a hotel room, ever. And we got a really good off-season rate :rotfl:

Yes, Deb I had to buy some things.. but, I ended up overnighting the dang thing.. We were leaving the parks to do the Cruise and I had special pillowcases made to have the characters sign on board... So, I paid like 200 dollars to have the thing sent from Nebraska to Florida. I also needed some of those darn clothes for the cruise.

Yes, my mother is a DeVoy so we are related to John DeVoy.. I understand he was an Irish Patriot and they invited the family to have him buried back in Ireland... Maybe someday I will get to Ireland.. but, you know we Americans are most likely what I refer to as Heinz 57's :rotfl2: . I am Irish, Swedish, German, Italian, Welch.. Since we are the melting pot.. :cool1: . I can go almost anywhere in Europe and have distant relatives :cheer2:

I guess it means I can celebrate several holidays.. :Pinkbounc

Looking forward to more of your report.. Loving it!!

FayeW: Nice to meet a kindred spirit. :thumbsup2 By the way I absolutely love the photo montage in your signature. Gorgeous!!

:)

Thanks Deb! I can't take credit for it, as I have no technical ability whatsoever. My husband accessed my account without my knowlledge, and did it as a surprise.

ETA: Only 2 of the 4 children appearing in the photos are mine; the other two are the friends who joined us on our trip. One of my happiest memories is watching the 2 nine year old boys walking through Tomorrowland holding hands. With all the hockey and soccer etc, you sometimes forget that they really still are little boys after all.

I am loving your reports!!!!!!! Keep them coming so I can get my WDW fix to tie me over for the next 21 days!!!! :dogdance:

Glad to see you had a wonderful time Deb :thumbsup2 . At least it looks that way, I've just copied and am going to print out your report but it looks like a fun read! Before I go any further I must say your kids are so cute, especially your little girl, awww! Also, before you went on your trip there was a thread where you mentioned you had a toothache, remember? How did that go? I hope you were able to get that sorted before you left...but guess what? My tooth now, well it feels like a bit of filling has fallen off :scared1:. I am out of time now though so it will just have to wait until we get home for me to get it looked at. Dosn't hurt so that's good.

P.S. your itinerary layout is better than TGM's :teeth:!

I know nothing about A/C. It's unheard of here. It took me about 6 months on the DIS just to figure out what the letters 'A/C' stand for. We have around 5 hot days a year so A/C is not exactly top of anyone's list of must-buys! But I did find a button to change it from fahrenheit to celsius as the former is totally foreign to me. It said it was set at 18 celsius - no way! It was blowing out very cold air into an already very cold room. I somehow managed to tame it down (temporarily I think) and went back to bed and chatted to Garth who had a big smile on his face and said that he too forgot where he was when he woke up and felt so excited to finally be in Disney World. *Bliss*

Sounds a lot like Wisconsin. And I LOL about the A/C (what it stands for).

Your boys looked like my son when he was 12, just wait in a few years you will wonder where your little guys are.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the story.

Loving your TR so far! Thanks for the entertainment :thumbsup2

And along with everyone else, I hafta say that your daughter is absolutely adorable. Those eyes!!! It's a good thing your boys are so protective of her - give her 13 or 14 years and they'll be fighting the guys off with sticks!

Thanks for sharing your trip - can't wait for more!!

I'm really enjoying your trip report so far. Thanks for taking the time to share it all with us. Can't wait to read more! :)

Loving your report! It was a nice pick me up after dealing with my 2 year old ds's tummy problems today. Gotta hate it when your little ones are sick, he kept saying "I no like thow up, Mommy!". Thankfully, he's sleeping now. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow.

Your daughter is adorable! Maybe we could fix her up with my little guy in 18 years or so! He's really cute too, when he's not vomiting on me. ;) I am looking forward to reading more of your report, it's getting me excited for our upcoming trip this January.

Since you mentioned that you wanted to protect your kids' identities, I thought I'd let you know that you can see their names on the picture of your "to do" list you posted on the first page! (nice names, by the way!)

Deb-

I love your report!!! While I'm reading it, I'm reading with an Irish accent...lol!!! It makes it even better, although it's so good by itself!!!

I can't wait to hear all about Day 1 in the parks!!!

You have a beautiful family.

You could really market this! With just those of us that have replied! :woohoo:
I am loving your report and have subscribed. Thank you for making my 2 month wait easier. I am a planner also and catch quite a bit of grief each day at work when I pull out my notebook over my lunch. I just laugh and tell them while they are slaving and freezing in February I will be living the life, the life of WDW. :cool1: :cool1:

Great report, your family is wonderful. Can't wait for more.

Loving this TR! Don't keep us in suspense too long for more.

Your daughter is adorable!

I also like seeing things from a "foreigner's" eyes. Great report. You have a good looking family!

subscribing, love this report. Your dd is precious. Don't blink or she'll be 22.

The next installment is half-finished so I'll post it tomorrow. DD was sick today. Poor baby had a dreadful cough and was just so lethargic. Hopefully she'll feel all better tomorrow.

I'm up late now trying to get a job finished for tomorrow morning. That's the problem with working from home - I always seem to keep odd hours! Although, it's not just that, I'm *still* suffering from the difference in the time zones - that 5 hours is a killer and it looks like I'm physically (and mentally of course) still in Florida.

I'm so amazed by people's reactions to my TR. I honestly didn't know if anyone would want to read it. But I must say it's so heart-warming to get such positive feedback. Wow!!

beachwarmer, momx2 & MinnieMommy Thanks for the kind words about the report and the itinerary too ! :) I had no idea the itinerary would be such a hit. And remember that's just a snippet of it. There's another 8 days in there :lmao:

bekki Sheen Falls! Fancy shmancy!! I stayed near there once - in a hostel up the road but we could see the top of it, does that count?! :)

Bee Heinz 57's? lmao!! I never heard that before!

Faye Kudos to your husband - I've had to do quite a few photos montages for my work and they are *so* time-consuming. He did such a terrific job. You read my mind when you said "you sometimes forget that they really still are little boys." I was just thinking earlier about 'Garth' and how much he loved Disney World and all the characters. One day Wayne said he wasn't going to get any autographs from the characters in MK that day (although he did at other times) and when I looked at Garth, he looked confused and then he just said "do you think I should just leave the autographs to 'Alice' and not get any for myself?" and I said "no, if you want the autographs, then you should get them". At that, his face lit up and he said "yeah, I really *do* want them. I can't wait". :goodvibes

Julieh22 Thanks! 21 days? This is such an exciting time - the build-up! I love it. (Although don't leave all the packing til the last day like I did!)

Kristina Thanks for remembering my tooth drama! That was such a painful thing. Actually, you know something, it's no wonder I was so late packing - that whole tooth pain went on for 2 weeks and I was drained. In the end I didn't have surgery. I'm going back to see the dentist on Tuesday for yet another appointment. Sorry to hear about your own toothache. *Hugs* I hope it clears up soon. Bring plenty of pain killers just in case!

Jules76126 Thanks so much!

OhMari I'm already wondering where the time went! My boys are growing up so fast and I can't believe in just a few months I'll be the mother of a teenager! Thanks for the kind words about the report! :)

NurseJamie LMAO@"give her 13 or 14 years and they'll be fighting the guys off with sticks!" My mother-in-law says 'Alice' is in for a huge shock when she starts getting interested in boys. Right now she thinks boys exist to run around after her because her brothers treat her like a princess. Is she gonna cope with reality? lol! Thanks for reading.

Ellester Oh your poor baby. for him. It's awful when they're sick and I think it's scary for them when they vomit. You probably read above that my little girl was sick today too - dreadful cough and even vomited once from the force of it. We think it's most likely asthma as she has the same symptoms as my eldest DS and this 'barking' cough has happened a few times now. She's sleeping soundly now thank heavens. Good idea about hooking them up. lol!! They already have Disney in common!!! That's an excellent start :) Not long to go now before your trip!! How exciting! Thanks for the heads up on the names. I'm gonna fix that.

travelbug Thanks! :)

Cinderella2004 You're very sweet, thank you! That photo in your sig is beautiful! :goodvibes

kimkreis & vital Thanks so much for your kind words! :)

VivsMom Ooooh, Tour Plans by Deb?!!! Hang on though, I'd be a nervous wreck trying to get every minute little detail right. I think I'd go mad lol!! Thanks for the sweet words!

DisneyDivaMom Thank you! :goodvibes

Deb,

Hey! So nice to see you here. Thanks! How's Waldo doing these days? I still get the giggles when I think of your TR! That whole 'Where's Waldo' thing cracked me up! :teeth: Oh, guess what? Thanks to you I went and got myself a Monchhichi in Japan in WS! I love him so much! lol Well he officially belongs to DD but really, she's just looking after him for me! :cloud9:

Oh, I'm so jealous you/Alice got a Monchhichi!!! I wanted one so bad. I decided when we go back next year, I'm buying one. Take that DH! pirate:

Can you believe Waldo is going with us next year? Sweet Mother of Jesus, help me! I'm getting him a cart with a remote control so I can keep track of him! :rotfl2: AND, I'm making him a huge flag to attach to his cart that says "Waldo hits WDW!"
Lovin' your report! Sorry to hear about Alice... I hope she's feeling better! :cloud9:
