Oprah's "Where Are They Now?" was recently about the OJ trial, including Nancy Grace...I think this was the first trial she ever covered on TV. It was a pretty interesting episode, if you want to catch the repeat.

The whole case and verdict disgusts me today as it did all those years ago. This is one that is truly difficult to move on from. I hope OJ dies in prison and never experiences another day of freedom. He's up for parole in 2017.

Anyway...here are a couple of articles, one about an encounter Nancy Grace had with three OJ jurors (who wrote a book) after she appeared with them on Geraldo...

And this one, about what Ron Goldman's sister says Johnny Cochran did/said to them after the verdict:

Hi Mare!
OMG...... I can't believe he said that to them. He was garbage, watching this OJ mini-series, let me see how truly awful he was during this trial to everyone involved. He had an agenda and boy he pulled it off perfectly. It aggravates me all over again watching it.

All caught up, been staying up way too late to listen without kids around, although yesterday's Dr. Drunk Expert was pretty tame, lol.

I'm good! How are you? Keeping busy with these trials I see! I'm not following any now, but the Georgia hot car death starts in a few days, last I heard.

Hi lorimay! I just can't watch that mini-series...too hard for me to hear anything about that case.

So, I had a fascinating morning! The RI State Supreme Court heard oral arguments today at a local high school. It's called "riding the circuit", where they go two or three times a year out to communities to give people the opportunity to see how they operate. So I went, and it was great! They were supposed to hear three cases, but in one case (someone had been paralyzed in a swimming accident) a key party died (I wondered if it was the paralyzed man). The other cases were a man convicted of larceny and another man convicted of assaulting a person over 60, both appealing their convictions after their appeals were upheld in lower courts. Cases presented to the Supreme Court involve just the lawyers from each side (defendant and the state), and no witnesses. Each lawyer got 10 minutes to present, with a two minute followup by the defendant's lawyer. It was confusing at first because, as they told us beforehand, at this point the judges have already read and studied the cases, so the lawyers aren't presenting all the facts upfront. Along the way, many of the facts come out though. Also, it kind of irked me that the justices asked questions and made comments...sometimes long ones, IMHO...within the lawyers' allotted time. I could tell sometimes that the lawyers were getting frustrated. The judges retired to another room afterwards to discuss the cases, and their decisions will take one to two months to write. I can't wait to see them! AND, if my opinion is in line with theirs.

They also had a Q&A, which was very interesting...their backgrounds, the hows/whys of the legal system, etc. An elderly man said he always wanted to serve on a jury but was never called...how come? So they explained the process. Afterwards, I chatted with the couple (neither of them have ever been called for jury duty) and I said that neither my DH nor I had either. I got home and got the mail and there's a letter from the courts about jury duty for my DH. He is NOT going to be happy, but I'm jealous!

They encouraged people to go to any of the courts to observe, and that just might be the push I needed. :)

Oh crap...more snow this weekend? Geez.

State is now calling Jaborian McKenzie to the stand. McKenzie is a co-defendant in this case.
