The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

Speaking of the rain....I didn't see it since I was at dress rehersal last night...was it crazy?? I could hear the thunder inside the school and when we left the school, there were huge puddles everywhere! I said we must have missed the monsoon! :rotfl:

Yes, You did miss a monsoon! It was pouring buckets at my house! We all watched out the window and my dog cried! The thunder wasn't too bad and I don't think there was any lightning. But man did it rain!

Hooray for an extra day! We managed to get an extra day by flying in the evening the day before...

Amanda

Congrats on the extra day!!!
I am not sure where you can get it printed on cardstock..but I would try staples or Office Depot.
I printed my kid's on heavier paper and just had Staples bound them..I think it was like 3 dollars

HI!!! Your PTR title interested me because I have "faceless" kids on the DIS too :goodvibes How did you find the black Mickey to hide your faces? I am currently using a black star from photobucket in my PTR. Looking forward to reading along!!

Hooray for an extra day!! :)

That's great! What a nice boss.

JJ's hair is getting so long. Will it bother him this summer? And I can't believe how cute your DD looks in her bathing suit! Awww!

You know, I really just have no idea about him and his hair. But he's so the kind of kid who freaks out at change, so he'll have to be okay with cutting it. We can't cut it too short anyway, because if we just tried to cut it short and didn't like, buzz it, it just turns into a fro. Not the best look for him!

It was you who parked your car in parking at the airport and had your mom pick it up later wasn't it? Was that easy? Did you just leave the ticket or whatever you get when you pull into parking in your car? We're contemplating doing this because someone would have to drive us to the airport at like 4 am and I'm not sure who would want to do that!

Yea for an extra Disney day!!!

Well, on the 23rd, we're hitting up MK in the morning and then heading over to DHS for Fanstasmic that night. :goodvibes

Cute pics of your kiddos! We've mostly been enjoying the weather (the cottonwood is killing me and my DH) when we're not too busy running around. I'm hoping that the rain last night will get rid of some of the allergens floating around. Speaking of the rain....I didn't see it since I was at dress rehersal last night...was it crazy?? I could hear the thunder inside the school and when we left the school, there were huge puddles everywhere! I said we must have missed the monsoon! :rotfl:

Well, we will definitely be at MK at the same time as you...DH says that our plane out of here should leave at 6 am...so we'll get there pretty early. Which is great! DH is torn about fantasmic. He thinks that it would be too crowded now that they only show it a couple times a week. I don't know anything about it, so I'm just clueless. :confused3

Yeah, it was a lot of rain. My backyard was still flooded this morning!

Cool! I don't know how long we'll be at MK. I guess it depends on how quickly we accomplish things. We all really want to see Fantasmic, but if the line looks a bit crazy, we'll probably skip it again.

I'm very happy that it did rain the other night and last night. Maybe it killed off the cottonwood!

I can answer the parking at the airport question: My parents had an early flight and they asked us to pick up their car. It wasn't a hassle at all.....except for the fact they parked in short term instead of long term. By the time we were able to pick up their car, 4 hours had passed and that equals $20! I think the first few hours are free in long term, so make sure you park there! My mom just left their ticket in the car for me.

Yes, what Meghan said is true about parking. We parked in the preferred long term (if you look at the Buff airport parking website it gives you the details) and you got the first 2 hours free and 2-3 was $4 I think. 4-6 was another $4. I think the max was around $20.
We just parked and left my mom a detailed message where our car was. It was no problem.

Great, thanks to both of you for the airport information! I think people will be very happy not to have to get up to drive us so completely early!

Yummy salad list! There is one of the Plaza menu I am eying if it is available when we eat there. :goodvibes:

:woohoo: for the extra day--how exciting!

Okay, I'm here, but I need to catch up first. I'm excited to read along. :goodvibes

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by! I've been really lazy about updating, so I apologize about that! I'm trying to update more!

Since we're arriving on Thursday now, I went back through our schedule.

Okay, I made an excel spreadsheet with all the hours for the parks for each day. :lmao:

Right now, the days I have figured out are:

Thursday 9/23: MK - closes at 7 this day. Probably just go back to the hotel after, it will be an early day since our plane leaves at 6 am.

Friday 9/24: Epcot- has evening EMH today. I'm really not sure how late we'll stay, it depends how good of a nap J.J. takes...if he takes a 3 hour nap like he does at home, then he can stay up really late.

Saturday 9/25- AK- DHS has EMH this morning, so hopefully this is a good choice. Closes at 5. Not sure if we'll do something in the evening.

Sunday 9/26- DHS, then back to POP to eat and nap well, because we're going to MK's EMH this evening.

Monday 9/27- AK (morning EMH)

Thursday 9/30- MNSSHP this night...MK has morning EMH so maybe that as well. Possibly we'll do EMH in the morning and then head to the Poly for Tonga Toast...we've done this before and it's worked out well. Definitely back to POP this afternoon for a nap and to get changed for the party.

Friday 10/1- AK evening EMH...DH REALLY wants to see AK at night.

That's all I have figured out for now!

It's all the little stuff that consumes my disney planning. At least running all the little details keeps my mind busy all day!

I think I'm going to do clothes laundry while we're there. I've never done laundry on vacation before. We planned on doing it last time, and didn't. As you can imagine, that wasn't pretty. ;) Somehow I thought the laundry rooms had hours, but my research seems to tell me they're 24 hours. So I can do laundry early in the morning or at night...so I am definitely going to wash once, if not twice. I like to keep luggage to a minimum, and honestly, I don't have 11 days worth of clothes! Shirts, maybe, but not shorts. Any tips? The kids have tons of clothes, so I might bring them 11 outfits!

Also...

J.J. has issues with loud noises. He just can't handle them. So I'm terrified of the fireworks. He's always done well with them in the past, but since he freaks out at the lawnmower this summer (and the blender...and the vacuum...and static on the tv...), I'm worried. Especially because I REMEMBER screaming through the fireworks when I was little (once at disney, on the 4th of july!) because they were just too loud. I'm thinking about getting some kind of noise reducing headphones for him. I think he'd love them. Any idea where I'd get some toddler-sized ones?

And, we're starting to think about toys...do you let your kids bring toys on vacation? I've really cut down the toys my kids have lately to just their favorites. They don't really play with many toys, so I was tired of them cluttering up my house. I don't know that they'll need them, but J.J. likes to take a toy to bed with him. I'm worried he'll lose them.

We're taking an impromptu vacation to visit some relatives at the end of the month, so that will give us some insight as to how the kids will do flying and away from the house. J.J. is a bit of a homebody, and he doesn't like change (I make him out to be a bit of a basketcase, don't I? He's really a sweet boy!). I think this trip will be harder on him because we'll just be at someone else's house....even when we're out to a friends house he asks to go home, eventually. And let's not talk about the first day we moved here from our apartment. He just always wants to go home! He's already told me that he's "nervous about not sleeping at home" and when I tried to be like, "it's okay, Mommy and Daddy and Sydney will be there" he told me "Stop talking about it!" :confused3 So...we'll see. He told us he just wants to go to disney instead of going to see his cousins, so at least he wants to go to disney!

Ah, picky eaters unite. J.J. is my picky eater. On the plus side, Sydney seems to eat anything, so she'll eat all his leftovers, happily. Processed food ruined him...we normally eat from scratch, but I have difficult pregnancies, beginning to end, so he ate tons of processed food when I was pregnant with Sydney, and he's never been the same ever since! So, he might actually eat well this trip, since most of it isn't exactly health food, you know? ;)

Places and things I think Jay might eat include the following...

AK

Pizzafari:
Macaroni and Cheese
Child's Cheese Pizza

Yak & Yeti Counter Service:
Cheeseburger
Chicken Bites
Pork Egg Roll (Maybe. He has eaten egg rolls in the past, but he's not very adventurous when it comes to food.)

DHS

ABC Commissary:
Chicken Nuggets
Cheeseburger
Ham and Cheese Wrap

Catalina Eddie's:
Cheese Pizza

Studio Catering Company:
Macaroni and Cheese
Peanut Butter and Jelly (This reminds me that I need to test Syd's nut allergy before we go. I'm not going to feed it to her, but I'll smear it on her skin and see what happens, since J.J. might kiss her or something if he eats peanut butter.)

Epcot

Cantina de San Angel:
Plato del Nino - grilled chicken and low fat cheese quesadilla, tortilla chips

Liberty Inn:
Chilled Chicken Wrap
Chicken nuggets
Peanut Butter and Jelly

Sunshine Seasons:
Macaroni and Cheese
Make your own Mini Sub (:thumbsup2 He will like this.)
Silk Soy Milk $1.99 :woohoo: We NEED this!

TANGIERINE CAFE:
Hamburger
Chicken Tenders

MK

Columbia Harbour House:
Chicken Nuggets
Macaroni and Cheese
Peanut Butter and Jelly

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe:
Chicken Nuggets
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Turkey Sandwich

Pinocchio Village Haus:
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Macaroni and Cheese
Cheese Pizza

PECOS BILL:
Hamburger

The Lunching Pad
Soy Milk - Regular or Chocolate $2.19 (J.J. will be MORE than happy to spend a snack credit on Chocolate Soy Milk!)

Everything POP Food Court:

Oven Fired Flatbreads:
Turkey Sandwich

The Grill:
Chicken Nuggets
Burger

Pizza Shop:
Penne Pasta with Meatball
Macaroni and Cheese
Cheese Pizza

...And unfortunately, pizza and burgers are iffy. I'm happy to see that there are some sandwiches around, he LOVES deli meat. My mom buys it for him, because I won't. :lmao:

I'll take a few good meals though.

Lots and lots of plans! I'm sure I've never done a spreadsheet. :rolleyes1:

The park plans look great, I love the idea of taking advantage of eveing EMH but somehow it never worked out for us.

I plan to do laundry as well because not only do we not have that many clothes I think some days (maybe most days) we'll need more than one outfit because after our swim break we won't want to put our sweaty clothes from the morning back on.

As for food, I did a similar list for things the kids would eat. When I did our tourning plans (because I'm obsessive like that, lol) I picked a place that I knew had at least ONE thing on the menu to satisfy everyone.

I think I need to do a spreadsheet too!!
We are planning on doing laundry.. I don't want to take alot of clothes either.

I'm definitely doing laundry! We're staying in a villa so I'll have the washer/dryer. Last time we stayed in a villa, I did laundry every day! I know we're lucky to be able to afford the villa. I consider the extra price worth it for the laundry alone!!!
On our last trip I was forced to do laundry in the laundry room due to an unforeseen vomit incident. The laundry room was super convenient and perfectly nice.
My kids aren't super picky but they aren't adventurous when it comes to food. And, yes, Disney is an easy place for kid-friendly food!

HI!!! Your PTR title interested me because I have "faceless" kids on the DIS too :goodvibes How did you find the black Mickey to hide your faces? I am currently using a black star from photobucket in my PTR. Looking forward to reading along!!

:welcome: So sorry I missed this!

I just made "Mickey Heads" using the circles on photo bucket. Minnie's bow is a butterfly! :rotfl:

Thanks for joining! I'll have to hop over and see your faceless children!

Haha spreadsheets are my new addiction. A mama on here sent me a copy of her packing list from excel, and it was CRAZY, you just change the number of days at the top and all the values for how many of things you needed to bring changed. It was fantastic. And so the obsession began...;)

It pains me NOT to take advantage of EMH. If I didn't have the kids I would be at every single one. I feel like I'm missing out!

Good point about swimming. And, I think this overlapping restaurant choices thing requires some ven diagrams or something!

I think I need to do a spreadsheet too!!

You should do a spreadsheet. But beware, they are addicting!

If we had a washer/dryer I would bring like, no clothes. Two or three outfits LOL. I definately wouldn't bring lots of socks and underwear! Having laundry in the room is my dream. Having lived without my own washer/dryer for 5 years in an apartment (and for two of those years I cloth diapered!) I do not have the "I hate doing laundry" attitude that most people do. Doing laundry isn't a chore when you have a washer/dryer right there, it's a pleasure! It's a chore when you have to lug your laundry down from a second floor apartment, in the car, into wherever you're doing laundry, and back!

And I believe you have spoken of the "vomit incident" before, but it makes me chuckle every time I read that term! :lmao:

Glad our trip drama makes you laugh! :rotfl:
I totally agree about doing laundry. I don't consider it a chore at all! I'm always happy when it's convenient.

Amanda
