The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

We are still debating on that one---the numbers are all so close on renting, free dining (if they do it), and the 40% off code. We are also waiting to see our numbers from our tax refund and Tom's annual bonuses that come out in February.

Very cool. :thumbsup2

How exciting to know that you're going. I'm so happy for you guys, and Megs. I know you'll have a great time.

Morning Lapuettes.

Hope everyone has a great day! I'm debating between coming home while DS is in preschool and having a chunk of time to myself or heading to the library in that town. I can already see they don't have the third or fourth Sookie book, and that does put a damper in my adventures. :lmao: I really want to go in order. Creature of habit, I am.

I had to go in order too. I can't skip around. It drives me crazy. I ended up braeking down and buying a few of them because it was taking my library too long to track them down via interlibrary loan.

I think I'm going to stop at my library today and see what they can track down for me.

As much as I "don't like" the series, I seem to be invested in reading it! :lmao:

Good Morning gals!!! We are getting much snow here today---and a little ice thrown in just for fun!!! So far we are up to somewhere between 5-6 inches, but the snow is supposed to continue all the way through sometime tomorrow evening. Our ice is supposed to come sometime this afternoon---so that should be REAL fun for anyone out on the roads. Luckily, Megs and I have no where to go or be today---therapy is closed---so we will be out playing in the snow, and then keeping nice and warm inside. My poor hubby ventured out this morning---big time of the year for his accounting department---only to find out once he got there that Corporate decided everyone could work from home today---figures!!!! He is just going to stay and hack it out, because he has so many reports to work on, etc.----I am just praying that he makes it home okay! I have decided that I need to SERIOUSLY try to figure out which option is going to be the best for us in September today----I am going to make a whole spreadsheet---I'll let you lovely ladies in on my decision once I know! We still don't have the dates we want just yet---there is a little snag in that department:

1. We can't go the first full week of September---that is Tom's monthly close time, so he HAS to be at work during that time.
2. One of the ladies that works for him is supposed to be down at WDW in the middle of September because she is supposed to get married on the 15th. This is the biggest part of the snag---Tom's not sure whether or not they will both be allowed to be gone at the same time---she is the second highest in command in their department, and he is unsure if their boss will allow their time off to overlap. (If we are both allowed to be off at the same time, we will probably have to go to her wedding while we are there---just an FYI for the future PTR plans.)
3. We thought it would be fun to be there for Meg's birthday on the 29th---but we could only do that if we did a mid-week trip to a mid-week trip----he has to be back by October 1st to start the monthly close process all over again!

I really HATE not having dates right now----DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!! Can you tell?!?!?!?!!?!?

Oh, Jen! Ice, snow, and date dilemmas! :grouphug: Although, I wouldn't mind some of that snow heading my way :).

If you are in WDW on Megan's b-day, you will be there the same time as TK!

I know---I keep hoping that option wins out!!! It would be so lovely to bump into a fellow Lapuette!!! We would probably have to do some weird mid-week to mid-week trip then---not sure if that would fly well with us or not. So much to think about!!!!

Right now, Megs is miffed at me---this is a rare incident, so it is quite the scene around here right now. She wants to go out in the snow in a bit, but doesn't want to put on her snow suit---only her coat. When I informed her she would not be going out without the snow suit on, she threw a full-fledged hissy fit!!! She is mad and pouting---quite the scene!!! I am sure we will get passed this, but YUCK for right now!!! It makes me shiver and my eye tick just thinking of what it is going to be like when she is a pre-teen and teenager!!! OH I SO DON'T LOOK FORWARD TO THOSE YEARS!!!!!!:sad2:

We have never done mid-week to mid-week so I am no help with that one.

Yikes! I didn't know Megs could do that. ;) Bet you anything she decides to put the snowsuit on soon.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: about the eye twitching -- I say that all the time!

I always used to dread the pre-teen/teenage years, but so far, it is the same kind of fit -- Chelsea is just a little bit bigger.

Hey guys! I've done mid week to mid week and absolutely loved it. One of the benefits is that typically airfare is cheapest on a Tuesday or Wednesday, so you have that going for you. :goodvibes

I know--neither have we, and I don't think we would like it because I have a feeling it would actually limit our amount of time down there---does that make sense?? I always like taking advantage of having two weekends!!!

I KNOW!!!! Where has my "perfect angel" gone to?!?!?!?! ;) Is this part of being 5?? We have noticed a little more "mouthiness" from her lately---please tell me they all go through this! She will have that snowsuit on if I have to pin her down and strap her into it!!! Our high temp today is only 25 degrees, so if she thinks she is going to go out in just a coat, she has another think coming to her!!! (Hee hee hee!!! :lmao: ) Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to win this one---and this from the child that LITERALLY can't handle either extreme in temperature!!! Aw, kids!!!

Since I taught in both middle and high schools, I have always dreaded that time period for my children even before I had a kid to worry about. I think teaching them, we truly get to know and understand all the "yuckiness" that embodies that part of development. But at least it also prepared me to know about all the kinds of carp they try to pull and lie to their parents about. Poor Megan isn't going to have a chance!!! :sad2: :lmao:  Yeah---making me think about it brought a tear to my eye!!! ;)

You do have a point there Ms. TK!!! Something ELSE to think about!!! :rotfl:

Sorry Megs is giving you such a hard time. I feel like I've already been through that (and still have it somewhat) with DS having been three. He'll be four in a couple of weeks, and I've noticed him leveling off so much, it's really, really nice. But, that's not to say we still don't have our little tete a tetes every now and then, that's for sure! :lmao:

Three was DEFINITELY rough for us too---I think it was a big combo of the age and at that point in time, Megan's sensory issues became more of an issue for her---FUN TIMES!!! Four and five have been pretty good so far, but getting a little more "Sass" from her every now and then---luckily it only comes in spurts!

Jen:
We did Sunday to Tuesday (10 days) last trip. Oh what a difference at the Orlando Airport then on a Saturday! We thought it was pretty good on that Sunday, but flying out on Tuesday was even better at MCO. But I don't think I would check-in to the resort on a Sunday again.....too many guests checking out and we didn't get into our room until 4pm.

And the later in the month you go....the farther from hurricane season you get. Which is really just a rain issue at WDW.

Thanks so much for this input---I never really thought about how it might be a better deal to go in the middle of the week---I am going to keep this in mind as I am in the midst of my planning spreadsheets!!! OH THOSE NUMBERS----HOW THEY BEDEVIL ME!!!!!!!

I too am dealing with some numbers...more like can I afford to go a few days early and how much will a rental car cost for 9 days...I'm hoping as the time gets closer better deals will arrive on the rental car!!

I'm a little nervous now about checking in on a Sunday...was it that bad Heidi????? I'm thinking of going a Sunday through a Sunday but now I'm thinking of maybe arriving on Saturday morning instead and staying throughout the week and leaving Sunday afternoon. Once again I would only need to get a room for 3 days and with a good AP rate that wouldn't be that much of an expense. Okay well now I'm just rambling on and on about the possibilities I really should save that for my PTR...my apologies...I'm going to follow the other Jen's lead and I'm going to go run numbers LOL!!

I know you weren't asking me, but I think you'll find that Saturday or Sunday will be pretty busy. Not terrible while we're going, but then again, there is food and wine to think of, so maybe it will be more crowded.

Hey, gang! I'm almost all packed (except for things that can't go in till the last minute) and I'm finishing up a few last things. Only a couple more days... ACK!

The line to check in wasn't really that bad and I could have taken and gotten into the first room they assignmed me but I wanted all my requests. And I did think the pool that Sunday was really busy at CBR.

We checked into Pop on a Saturday and were able to get into our room right away. I think that was around 12:30PM....maybe a little earlier. We maybe waited five minutes to check in at the desk too. Not long at all. :thumbsup2
