The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Oh that wouldn't stop Kyle... he wants to live abroad as soon as he's old enough. His daily project is to figure out whether to backpack around Europe or go buy a cheap car and drive wherever his heart desires.

I have to brag on Kyle- if any of you have read Midnight Sun on Stephenie Meyer's website (it's Twilight from Edward's perspective- and it's only just over 200 pages of a rough draft but it's a great read), there's a part when Edward and Bella are at the lunch table and she's drinking a lemonade, soon after they meet. Edward swipes her lemonade bottle cap as a memento. Later he is at home composing Bella's Lullaby and takes the bottle cap out to look at while he plays. Kyle asked me some questions about that, to get the full gist of why the bottle cap was important.

Now he calls me his lemonade cap.

I love that boy. :lovestruc

Oh Lara your Kyle is just a wee darlin':lovestruc . That is just the sweetest thing to call you...I'll bet you got a big lump in your throat when he started:love: . I read Midnight Sun and I was devistated when Stephenie stated that she wasn't going to write any more of it:scared: ...does anyone know if there is any update on this and if she has changed her mind???

I think I am about to sign off to read more of "The Secret History of the Pink Carnation." It's really got my attention. You are like my own personal Librarian, CP!

Awwww. :goodvibes

Your book recommendations are spot-on for me, too, LL! Loved the Sookie books and I have added The Guernsey book to my list of upcoming reads.

Oh, CP. I'm sorry, I have to laugh, too. :rotfl2:

It's really the only response -- I am still laughing about it.

Hey gang---Happy Tuesday!!! I know must have signed off, but I just wanted to say "hey!" I am so loving the POTC movies I rented over the weekend---TK has a new convert for sure!!!!!!!! Captain Jack Sparrow is DIVINE!!!! Looking forward to "chatting" tomorrow!

He is, isn't he?

It is seeming to help...A LOT! :goodvibes

Lucky duck! Less than a week for you, right?

So glad you liked them!

Divine would be just one word I can think of to describe him. There are so, so many. :lmao:

Last I read she did plan to finish it, just not in the near future. She was so disheartened by the leak, she decided to put it aside and work on other projects.

It's really the only response -- I am still laughing about it.

If we can't laugh at ourselves, you know? :goodvibes

Good morning!

Man, I slept so poorly last night! I don't know if it's the wind, or the cold, or a combination but I just couldn't sleep. Then I woke about 530, and couldn't fall back asleep. This should make for an interesting work day! :lmao:

I hope everyone had a much more restful night than I did, and a enjoys a splendiferous Wednesday. (Channeling my inner Tigger there.) :goodvibes

I was trying to convince my mother to read The Guernsey book today but no dice. She's stuck on Jodi Picoult and Luanne Rice, even though she's read every single one of their books. She just doesn't want to broaden her book horizons.

I can't wait for you to read it, it's just wonderful.

Oh, Lara, I hope my son and I have that type of a relationship when we get older, that's just so sweet! :goodvibes

We really do have a special relationship - I think it's because I was 21 when he was born... we grew up together! :rotfl:

It is seeming to help...A LOT! :goodvibes

Trixie! You only have SIX DAYS! :woohoo:

Oh yeah, he got me all teary eyed and emotional when he did that. And he still says it- he'll walk up to me, kiss me on the forehead and say "love you, bottlecap". It doesn't help my emotions at ALL now that he's taller than me. He's not my baby anymore! :cloud9: Kyle really is a special kid- so conscious and aware for his age, or for a teenager in general. It's not like having a son, it's just like having a young friend in the house. He's an angel, truly.

And yeah, I read where Stephenie said she put Midnight Sun aside completely after the leak to work on something that wasn't Twilight or The Host related. She said she thinks she'll finish it eventually but that she doesn't have any passion for it right now and she can't force herself to write under the circumstances. Understandable... but I hope she finishes it sooner rather than later!

I have to say, I'm kind of glad I didn't find Twilight until last month; I don't think I could have handled waiting year after year for the next book! I like that they're all available when I want them. :rolleyes1

I know what you mean I only hear about the Twilight series from the lovely ladies here and bought Twilight to read on holiday in July last year....needless to say I devoured it in the first two days and we had to drive into Inverness so that I could buy the other two. I was beside myself until the final book came out in August:rotfl:

I didn't even realize how soon the final book had been published until after I'd finished reading it- it nearly gave me an anxiety attack to think I'd have had to WAIT to read the rest of the series had I found the books sooner. I'm not the most patient person... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Holy cow! I have been without a computer at home for a few days and too busy to dis at work ... grr... and I feel thoroughly out of the loop! It would take pages to multiquote everything which seems unfair because you already read or said it already...

but...

CP, I laughed 'til I cried and then bought the book!

Trixie, I can't believe it's only 6 More Days! Hooray for you!

Pooh, I always try to wait to tell Dh about Disney til it's paid for- then he can't try to make me cancel saying that we can't afford it! :rotfl:

Lara, How far along are you in the Twilight series?

LL, "The Secret History of the Pink Carnation" might have to be next on my list... right now I am reading"Bitten"

I loved Judy Blume.. I thought "Forever" and "Wifey" were so scandalous, 'course I read them in middle school right after "Flubber" and "Are you there God..."

I think in Breaking Dawn I would almost be more worried about the gore than the romance... the romance, while intense was pretty non-graphic, the gore in some parts not so much... but my 13 year old handled it fine.

Becky, do you like Bitten? I got it from the library but never had the chance to read it.

So far I like it. I am pretty early into it... it's been a hectic couple of days and I haven't been able to commit to it the way I usually do when I get a new book. I think I am going to enjoy it though...

Cool. Let me know how you like it. I've kinda been turned away from Vampires for the time being. I enjoyed Twilight and Sookie so much that the others I have tried are just not holding my interest. :confused3

Bitten is about werewolves not vampires... which confused the heck out of me... surprisingly enough prior to Twilight I don't think I have read a supernatural book since Anne Rice in the '90's... I didn't think it was my thing, but I sure am on a kick...

Oh yes, that's right. But still, I guess the whole supernatural thing is what I was looking for. I could not get through The Vampire Lestat. I got more than 1/2 way through too and just felt meh about it. I was in a bit of a book slump but over the last few weeks it's improved greatly.

Mine just made me so mad she almost made me cry which only made me madder... I have that "angry tears" thing which I hate... She disappeared over what should have been my lunch break, leaving me stuck in the office waiting for her to appear... while I was waiting my doctor called my cell phone - I have been waiting to talk to her for days about my diagnosis - of course while I am on the phone with her, my boss walks in and then proceeds to give me carp about making personal calls because she couldn't hear her personal call over MY talking... I pointed out that I wasn't the one with an office door :confused3 and that it was supposed to be my lunch hour and that it was an important call or I wouldn't have taken it at work...

This woman does personal stuff on work time all the time!!!:headache:

Awwww. That is so frustrating.

Did she apologize or anything?

Becky, sorry that your boss is being mean today, but glad you got a kick out of my Chelsea story.

Lapuettes, I am beat -- I can't wait to go home today!

Becky- I am sorry about your boss.
I have been so busy reading. I am on book 4 in the Sookie series. My brother sent me a late Christmas present so I was able to go out and buy the whole series. I am really enjoying them now. Are any of you having bitter cold in your part of the country? It is so cold here the high is 4 or 5 today, plus we have wind chills of -40. My dd is so tired of being inside all the time. I need to move to a warmer climate. Who's with me?
