The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Heidi - I am glad Liam's evaluation went well and they seem to have a plan in mind for him...

LL - Poly was the cheapest deluxe rate they had available with the code- I was surprised but am assuming that maybe like with free dining the rooms get scooped up quickly. WL was pricing almost $1000 more than the Poly. The next cheapest deluxe was Grand Floridian, which I almost booked and then asked her to check again and she found the Poly rate.

I just figured it out on paper, if I don't do dining, buy the tickets separate, and stay in two rooms at a value, I'll save $1700... but I'll definitely get that value in food if I keep on the dining plan... but without it would I spend that much on food... that's the real question...:headache:

What I think I will wind up doing is downgrading from Poly to either POR or 2 connecting rooms at Pop... POR was pretty tight with my party of 5 last year and that was with me and 4 kids - this year it would be myself, DH and 3 kids... so I am leaning toward connecting value rooms.

now what about dining???

My day just went up, up, UP! I just booked my flights for later this month and discovered that the fares had changed, so I get to go early Friday instead of that night, and that means I get a whole extra day in Florida!!

Isn't there a story out there about some man living in an airport?

Someone help me out, where have I seen this? The Terminal??

See, LegoMom, you could be the next news story! :thumbsup2

You know, I guess I'm the only weirdo who didn't get the full blown obsession until I actually saw the film.

And once I saw it...oh boy. I mean, I can't even describe how that movie just did it for me. :lmao: Well not without getting banned.

Anyway, since I've seen it, I've been rereading the books, checking out different websites, looking at Hot Topic to see what shirts etc they have.

Oh yeah.

It's bad. :rolleyes1

I was right! I thought I saw you on a Twilight thread... yep, the movie really did it for me too...

Congrats on the great deal!!!!!!!

Totally realistic, too -- I would not give up my Beach Club vacation for the Bahamas! :rotfl:

What color towels did you and Edward choose? :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Blue & White striped ones, I wasn't crazy about them but they were soft and Edward liked them. :rotfl2:

Wow! If Poly was the cheapest, I would take that as a sign....:rolleyes1 I am an enabler afterall. Have you done the dining before?

WOO HOO!!! :woohoo:

I have done the dining plan for years and I love it... I am not sure I can go back! I am spoiled rotten in every sense of the word! I haven't had to sneak a PB & J sandwich into the park since DD16 was 10. The sit down restaurants is really how I changed DH's opinion of Disney.

Last year we even upgraded to Deluxe during free dining and loved it, although I think it took a lot of time... which was good because I tend to get too drill sargent-y and need a reason to slow down in Disney.

I am thinking of sticking to what I booked (a package with Dining) because if Disney does free dining again, which is always a good possibility, that deal will be better than the code that I am using... and I'll get to switch to the better rate.

If I book room only and buy the tickets separate without dining, if and when they announce free dining, I'll have so many of the pieces paid for in parts it'll be too late to put it all back together in a neat little package.

I do think I'll wind up not at the Poly though... it's just not the year for it. It's not even the year for Disney really... 20 pages ago I was whining about keeping my house and now I am debating between the Poly and Pop Century

I am glad DH doesn't frequent the DIS...he would have me comitted, printing these pages as supporting evidence

Well if you get free dining, then that will be even better. You aren't going to cancel anything yet, right?

Tink's back.
Mostly.
Only have a few minutes, but wanted to pop my head in here and say Happy 09 to all my beautiful Lapuettes.

Saying I have a lot of catching up to do is much like saying Amy Winehouse procreating is a bad idea.

In other words.

GROSS UNDERSTATEMENT.

And just to attest to how much I've missed you, I wish all of you many of these for 2009:

TTY again soon!!! Promise!!!

Welcome Home!!!

Nope, I am not cancelling or changing anything, yet. I figure I have plenty of time to downgrade from the Poly or not or whatever...

maybe I'll win the lottery tomorrow...

maybe I should start playing... :rolleyes1

Happy to see that you are back, Tink! :goodvibes

I think that's a good idea, Becky. Just see what happens. :thumbsup2

I would like one of my many Lapu Lapus now, please!

Welcome back, Tink!

LL, you crack me up with the blue and white striped towels.

I think my productivity has been used up for the day.

I remember the towels vividly! :rolleyes1

My productivity was used up around lunchtime.

Uh oh, did you change your resort? :scared1:

Oh, heavens, no, nothing that bad. While I have been sitting here "thinking" about lesson plans, I have been taking last summer's TR and cutting and pasting it into Word for my scrapbook.

My one New Year's resolution is to finish the 2008 Disney scrapbooks before June.

Oh yes. I keep meaning to do that with my TR. What bums me out though is that the photos don't copy over too but I guess I could always match those up if I got really ambitious.

Just back from the dentist where I got two fillings:scared1: not the most pleasant of experiences but at least it's helping me to stick to the diet I've started today:rotfl2:

Well, bummer on the dentist, but yay for your diet! :goodvibes

LOL!!! Didn't they make a movie with Tom Hanks about just this same thing LOL!!!!

Nevermind...I'm so late to posts some day LOL!!!!!!! This is what I get for going back to work!!!

Ha ha! See, work is overrated.

I just figured it out on paper, if I don't do dining, buy the tickets separate, and stay in two rooms at a value, I'll save $1700... but I'll definitely get that value in food if I keep on the dining plan... but without it would I spend that much on food... that's the real question...:headache:

Would you spend $1700 on food for how many days? Would you eat the same way without the dining plan? Is it worth it to have it?

All questions you should ask yourself before you downgrade.

And I know that finances are a concern, but if I got a 40% off code, I wouldn't waste in on Pop. Granted, I'm a HUGE enabler, but that's just me. To me 40% off = deluxe stay. :thumbsup2

Hanging around with all the other Twi-lovers. :lmao:

Hon, if you're comfortable with it, I'd love you to post (or PM) me your numbers.

The only reason I ask is because I have a (talk about a reason to be committed) huge spreadsheet comparing room discounts to free dining. Now granted, it's based on three people, not five, but the same basic principles may hold true.

Tink's back.

And besides, now I have a firm figure in my head that I know I need to see in my savings account.:rolleyes1

Just sayin'.....

Thought of you when I tore away my last "Stuff on My Cat" page-a-day.
I have the "Bad Cat" calendar for 2009.

Welcome back, Tink!

Thanks. So, how many times have you changed your resort in my absence?
