I just called and left another message.

Last time I spoke to someone about our upcoming October reservation was back on July 1st and they told me then that I would have a confirmation # within a couple of weeks and it would appear on MDE. Well, here we are a little over a month now and I still have nothing. I understand that "things" happen and that they are changing things up for F&W, but honestly, I made this reservation back in April and was told back then of how the process was going to work and so far nothing they've said would happen has. While I'm going to remain patient, this isn't something I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
STRANGE! we have our reservations for October also and got a confirmation call from them a few weeks ago! good luck to you!

Finally got a call back, now have a confirmation number and have to say the woman I spoke with was very apologetic. All is good and I'm very much looking forward to trying V&A for the first time for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner :)!

We have a 6:15 ADR for the Queen's room next month. MK is open until 11pm that night. Is it unreasonable to plan on going in to MK for a bit after dinner? or will dinner end too late for us? Thanks for any input!
I would budget about 3 hours for dinner. Theoretically you could make it to the park;we have always been in too much of a food haze to want to do anything much afterwards. You could wander around the GF lobby-music goes until 9:45.

Yeah you're probably right! I'm being over ambitious! Maybe I'll walk to the beach and watch the fireworks if we finish early enough. Thanks for the advice :)

Glad to hear you got a call back! hope you have a fantastic 30th Anniversary and the best dinner ever!

Just want to give everyone a heads up about their new seating arrangement in the main dining room. I was told that along with the menu changes, there's a new seating process that limits time availability based on party size. For the night I booked (10/31), reservations at 5:00, 5:15, 5:30 were for parties of 2. Reservations from 5:45-6:15 for parties for 4, then 6, and so on into the night with large parties having the latest reservations. That's what I was told when I asked why my reservation time choices were so limited.

Wow. That's just crazy! I have next to zero interest in eating by 5:30, but we'll be a party of 2 on our next trip. And I can imagine there are larger parties who really want an early dining time. I've never heard of a restaurant operating like that.

That makes me curious and more than a little nervous... Our original time was for 6:30. When we spoke to them again it had been moved to 5 (which is ridiculously early to us), but they moved it back to 6 when I asked for something later.

If they change it on me again, I'm not sure I want to go. :( There's nothing romantic to me about eating that early.

I was really disappointed because I had planned with the intention of booking one of the last seatings. Now we'll have to skip all the Halloween resort activities. :( Wish I had known ahead of time we'd be forced to eat super early so I could've planned it for a different day.

I can see how what they're doing is feasible since they took down reservations/party size from everyone before assigning dining times during the menu transition. I can't imagine it being very easy to keep up though.

If you haven't already, call and explain that to them. Maybe it will persuade them to make your time a little later.

We are a party of 2 and we have a 6:15 a few days before Halloween. The lady I spoke to told me they don't seat after 7, since they're not turning tables. I don't know if she meant parties of 2 or any party at all. We are used to eating much, much later, but it makes sense since dinners run 3-4 hours, she told me.

Interesting. I've been seated at Victoria and Albert's as late as 9:15 in the last few years, and 8:30 last Sept.

After seeing this thread, I called because I hadn't received a call or email. They had the wrong email address down. She indicated my meal was 5:15 even though when I called it was originally for 6. And then she said if you can't do that we have a 7. I told her I planned my day around the original time of 6pm and she said that is fine, we will note that. though my reservation will say 5:15 The email does say 6pm now though. Weird. Happy to go though! celebrating our anniversary there!

I'm getting worried, so I just want to clarify...

The people who are waiting for emails or call backs, did you call to make your dining reservations? We booked ours through MDE and have a reservation number. I am planning on calling next week anyway to discuss some allergies, but did I need to call to confirm our reservation?

at the time (back in april for me) it wasn't online - so I called. They said their system was down for V&A as they were going through upgrades and they had a book with reservations they were taking down. Once system was back up and running they would call/email. Well I dind't hear anything and then saw this thread I gave them a call and it turns out they had the wrong email address. So I gave them the correct one and now we are all set!

One note: I got my confirmation from V&A, and it still hasn't shown up on MDE and it's been way longer than the 48 hours she said it would be.

Ditto on the concern. I made mine through MDE and have a reservation number as well. I'm getting very worried with these sudden changes in times. Our ADR is for 9pm on 9/30. Not ideal but 5pm will not do because that is our arrival day and we'll just hit WDW at 5pm.

The new changes do not take effect until Oct.

Reservations starting in Oct 2015 and forward are required to call V&A directly to secure ADRs. Apparently, there is a glitch with the new set-up, so we have to keep playing phone-tag to get the details down pat.

Reservations *prior* to Oct 2015 are able to be secured via the online system, therefore you do not need to confirm those ADRs with a phone call...or play phone-tag. V&A calls everyone prior to their reservation to go over the menu, allergies, etc.

Example:

For Sep - I could make a reservation via MDE for party of 4 @ 9 pm (or anytime there was availability starting with 5 pm). Same menu, no changes.

For Oct - I had to call V&A to book a reservation for party of 4 and were given choices of 6:45, 7:15, and 7:30 pm only (apparently there are now set times depending on party size). New menu, new changes.

Btw - I called V&A several months ago to secure an Oct date and was told I would receive a call back within a few weeks with a definite time & confirmation #. Didn't happen.

...so I called back on July 4 for the rest of my confirmation info. They apologized for not getting back with me, however, all they could give me was the time and said the confirmation # would show up in 48 hrs via email and MDE. Didn't happen.

...called this past week they apologized again, gave me a confirmation #, and and guess what? It doesn't work in MDE. I called back and she said that they have been having problems with guests not being able to link their confirmation #s. But she assured me that I DO in fact have a valid confirmation.

So I'll just cross my fingers it will be ok.
