Our reservation is during the first week in December. I haven't heard from them yet. They said they'd call in August. Should I call?

Just want to give everyone a heads up about their new seating arrangement in the main dining room. I was told that along with the menu changes, there's a new seating process that limits time availability based on party size. For the night I booked (10/31), reservations at 5:00, 5:15, 5:30 were for parties of 2. Reservations from 5:45-6:15 for parties for 4, then 6, and so on into the night with large parties having the latest reservations. That's what I was told when I asked why my reservation time choices were so limited.

Any recent updates to this? I seriously do not want to be seated by 5:30 just because we're a party of 2. I'm hoping the reservationist was mistaken or that this was just a temporary thing.... :goodvibes

I have a November reservation for 2 people at 6:30. It's the main dining room.

I looked and they were supposed to call in July, so I went ahead and called them. I got my confirmation number and it's even showing up in MDE! So excited for my bday dinner in the QVR!

Good to know! Thanks for reporting that. I'm going to assume the "parties of 2 must now be seated by 5:30" was a mistake or temporary thing, and that I don't have to drop V&A or rework our plans to work with that. (I'll find out for sure when I'm able to book my late April dinner.)

We are in the QVR for the night of 10/31. I received my e-mail confirmation on July 27th and everything was correct. However, the ressie is not in MDE. I have tried to add it and no go. I know V & A reservations have been crazy busy but I feel this should be in MDE as I don't want to get there and have a problem Anyone else not have their ressie in MDE?

Last time I spoke with them, I was told that MDE linking isn't working right now. Don't worry about it.

When they confirmed my reservation over the phone, they said it would automatically show up in MDE in a few days. The confirmation email I got said a MDE number would be sent in a few weeks. And a few days after that, I got a second confirmation email stating the reservation will not link to MDE -- so clearly there is trouble with the system. I wouldn't worry about it. They have your info!

We have the same issue. We received the reservation number, but we couldn't link it either. We're not "that" worried ... yet.

Should my husband and I drive and accept the free valet or monorail over from BLT? We are splitting a wine pairing. If we are too tipsy to drive, could we leave his truck there over night?

(Laughing) ... OK, our reservation "linked" - but that was two weeks ago :). God KNOWS what state MDE is in at the current moment....

And Really? WHO CARES! Israel has you in his book for the night you requested :). HIS book is law - not "Mad Dining Experience" :). Trust me on this one - if V&A has contacted you? You are Golden :).

Just a suggestion, all opinion - do not treat V&A like any other restaurant on Disney Property. Rather, approach them the way you would approach a fine dining restaurant in the heart of New York :). That restaurant in New York will also fail to give you a Disney ADR :). When they say they take care of you? Oh yes - they will :).

Thank you all for the quick responses. I feel much better. As always with anything Disney I will have a copy of my Ressie. Our family is beyond excited about this dinner.:)

I was given our confirmation number a little over a month ago and it still doesn't link. While I have no doubt that our reservation is secure, it would be nice to see it in MDE.

I did the monorail because I wanted to head to the MK after and get a dressed-up picture with Mickey, but it was a nice ride even without the stop. The monorail and the roundtrip from the contemporary are Disney icons and it just felt like the right experience for my trip. (I was at BLT also) Driving would only save you maybe 5 minutes one-way so I really don't see the upside. If you split the wine pairing, you'll be getting 8x 3oz pours, so you will probably feel it but you likely aren't over the legal limit to drive. Although when I split the pours, I think they either forgot or didn't care and ended up doing 4-5oz pours for each glass, so that was fun.

Has anyone heard anything about their menu selection? when we spoke to them last they said that the menu will "reflect" the flavors of the food and wine festival. NOT that it matters, I love pretty much ANYTHING they serve me at the Chef's table and over the years I think my tastes have been refined due to the different foods they serve you there. Will be there for both hubby and my birthdays in October! can't wait! If this is your first time at V & A's....just go with the flow! EVERYTHING is good and don't be afraid to try different things! you might be surprised how good it is! also, if you drink wine...ISRAEL will be your special guide and there isn't ANYTHING he doesn't know about wine! and, we NEVER miss talking with him!

Dined at V&A for the first time last Friday night and WOW! I'm actually glad they weren't offering the 10-course in the main dining room because we were stuffed (and drunk). We arrived at the Polynesian around 2:30pm, had some pork nachos at Capt. Cooks then did some souvenir shopping before heading over to Trader Sam's. After 4 rounds of drinks, we decided it was time to get ready for our 9pm ADR. Now, we had originally planned on splitting the wine pairing, but since my wife and I went with different items for every course, we decided against it and just got our own (probably the rum whispering even though most of it had worn off by then). My wife is not into real fine dining, but she loved everything including the bison amuse bouche. I loved the duck but wished I had opted to get the Kobe-style beef instead of the lamb, and I could've eaten a whole plate of the Gorgonzola picante. Dessert was also good but we couldn't even finish half of it. Still, no regrets. We look forward to coming back for an anniversary and trying to grab the CT or QVR
