So this is my second time reading this post, I read it the first time we went to WDW 2 years ago, and I am reading it again now for our september trip. I felt the need to create an account and post, because this thread has helped me more than I can say. I was SO scared the first time we went. Crying, I felt like I wouldn't fit on anything and would ruin the trip for my son and husband. Reading through this thread gave me so much peace of mind, and the confidence to try almost everything. We had the most amazing time! My son is special needs, and wasn't talking hardly at all before we left, at WDW he said more than we had ever heard him say in his entire life, and I was there to experience it all with him. The second time we went he cried going through the gates he was so happy. He loves every minute of it, and so do I!!! So thank you to everyone who posted on this thread, it helped so much, and gave me the push to just go and do it instead of letting my weight keep me from a place that has become our second home, so much so that we bought a DVC.
I want to add my stats and experiences so if there is anyone my size, maybe they will get the same peace of mind I did. I am 5' 4", and at the time of my first and second trips I was 350 lbs. I carry my weight mostly around my middle and in my chest (56 inches) and wear a 3-4x top and 28 bottoms. I have done almost everything at all 4 parks!! I have not done Mission:Space, Sum of All Thrills, or 7 Dwarves. Some seats are a little tight, but nothing that made it any less enjoyable in any way! I ride with my son or husband (who is average weight and height), and sometimes we all even ride together (Nemo, Little Mermaid, a few others). So anyone who is scared, go for it! Disney is amazing, it really is a place for everyone!!!
I buy most of my clothes from Old Navy or Torrid. Bras I get from Layne Bryant, they have an amazing wireless, sports bra-looking bra that is fantastic. Support, control, and comfort. I can't speak for good walking shoes, because this upcoming trip will (fingers crossed) be my first time walking the parks. My husband carries our stuff in a backpack. We all swear by BodyGlide, Aleve morning and night, and using Touringplans to minimize walking but still make good time. Also, this isn't a Pooh Size tip, but I take dry shampoo in the park with me. My hair gets sweaty and greasy and I like to freshen up every couple hours!
I do have a question, does anyone have any experience being my size and riding Mission:Space? My son is so excited and I want to ride with him but I am unsure about the size and the restrains!
Thank you all again for all your contributions in this thread, and I am so sorry for writing a novel lol!
