I am a pooh sized gal, 5'4, about 290 right now, but currently on WW and have lost 15 pounds. I am making my first trip to WDW in late January and I am a bit nervous about it all!

Glad to have found this thread!

Congrats on losing the first 15! Disney is extremely pooh-sized friendly. I'm sure you'll have an absolute blast! Feel free to reach out if you need any support! :cheer2:

Same height, similar weight, also on WW and also going in January!

My goal is to lost 25 lbs by then, but I always lose up top first so it probably won't make much difference. :sad2:

That's where I lose mine first too!

My husband and I are both pooh-sized and were able to ride most Disney rides together in the past, but now that we are going with our toddler, who will be 17 months at the time, I am wondering if all three of us can fit in rides like Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, etc., or will we need separate ride vehicles? Anyone have experience with this? Does the toddler have to sit next to you, or can he sit in your lap?

Have you considered a bjorn?

We have an Ergo, but I don't know if they would let him stay in that on the rides. Plus, he is at the age where he wants to be free and not strapped to mommy or daddy. Also, he is a bit heavy to wear on the front in the Ergo. We might bring it and see if it works, though; thanks for the suggestion!

Has anyone Pooh sized had any spa treatments done? I just reserved the signature massage and body wrap at GF Senses Spa for my mother and myself. I am a 22/24 and she is an 18/20. I am hoping they have pooh sized robes and that we will be comfortable.

I did the Spa at the Grand Floridian last October and had no problem at all. I am larger than you and they have robes in all sizes.

I believe their robes go up to 5X. :thumbsup2

Thanks...that makes me feel much better and even more excited! I booked the signature aromatherapy massage & wrap plus reflexology foot massage add-on. I did it for 2 days before we leave and after 12 days of being in the parks. I will definitely be ready for it!

This year my daughter 4 (31lbs) went on little mermaid, buzz and haunted mansion with both of us (pooh sized, mom size 24 and day 42 waist). She was basically on one of our legs for buzz and HM. too tight. They only warned us of the bar coming down but it was not an issue.

Never heard of the term "pooh sized" and at first I bypassed this thread until I finally realized what is was all about. Well I fit into this category at a size 18/20. Family trip is next August and goal is to lose weight (30lbs) so I can get to where I was before a tailbone injury railroaded my previous weight loss two years ago. Now I am just consistently the same weight - not gaining but not losing.

With that said my concern was not fitting in any rides. Now that I know I will fit at my current size I am happy. Yes I still plan on working to lose weight so I can be comfortable - not that comfy with where I am at now - but it is good to know I can enjoy the rides/attractions. Now of course I need to work on the motion sickness as I got nauseous riding the Merry-Go-Round at Hersheypark with my nephew. Any tips on what I can take for this?

Sure I will be back with some questions once I get through all 100 pages ;) But for now I am happy I can get on these rides without issues.

This is the active ingredient in Dramamine and the other OTC products for motion sickness but without the side effects such as drowsyness. I found it here on the DIS :woohoo: and it worked wonders for me when I visited the dark side last year. Thanks to all the lovely Dissers for that. My DSIL used it on her cruise last week and loved it.

You can get it OTC behind the counter at your local pharmacy counter and it is very inexpensive compared to the other products..

Hope this helps...

Yes! I had the same package in Feb. It was a wonderful experience! The robes were fine :D Have a great time!

Thanks Laura. I never used to be like this as I always was on rides when younger :confused3 It has been years since I have ridden anything and the first ride was a simple Merry-Go-Round and well that did not go over well. Will share this with my sister as she too gets motion sickness - worse than me - but sucks it up as her daughter loves to go on rides. So this should help us both. Thanks again.

Start taking it several days before your trip. One pill in the morning with breakfast will do the trick. Take it each day of the trip even if you are not going to need it that day. It helps to keep the level up in your system.

I know it's a while away, Lids, but have a fun trip. :)

Hmm. Did you try anything else after the merry-go-round? As I've gotten older, I've developed motion sickness with regard specifically to anything that spins. But forward motion, even at high speeds, drops, inversions... I'm totally fine. Spin me around? I'm sick as all get-out. :crazy2: So for me, that just means no Carousel, no Teacups, no Primevil Whirl, no orange Mission Space. Other than those, I can ride everything at WDW without getting ill. :thumbsup2

No I did not - was so completely off kilter afterwards I just walked around and focused on picture taking of my niece/nephew, took in the shows, watched my nephew when his mom & sister went on rides, and played in the water park area. Interesting what you wrote bc I also felt the same way when I went to Ripley's and walked through the tube that spins around you even though you are walking straight. My niece wanted to go and I took her twice - that was not pleasant at all. Talk about your whole afternoon being out of whack. I have until next August but thanks for the tips.

Has anybody tried the itworks wraps? I was thinking about getting some to use right before I left for Disney.

Thanks Laura. I am so very excited about this trip even though I have 11 months to go. But great to know that I need to take it before and during the trip.
