The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

I just know a lot of shoes aren't meant for Pooh sized people. I just need a shoe that is casual, not big and clunky, and not break down after a few hours of wear. :)

I'm about 5'6", and 230# (size 18/20), if that helps you compare. I wear mostly the Dansko sandals, but that's because I have a casual dress code where I work. (And my casual shoes are all Timberland.)

I am considering a trip to Universal with my family, I went to Sea World Last year and I was not able to fit on the Manta. I barely fit on the Kraken, but managed. I was wondering what others experiences were. I am 5'6" and 310lbs. Thank you.

I love the Aravon dress casual shoes that I bought from Joes New Balance Outlet.

Aravon is the New Balance dress shoe brand. I bought a $150 pair of shoes online from Joe's for $25. They are fantastic shoes. A shoe repair guy I know said that the soles on my Aravons were worth more than what I paid. My podiatrist recommends New Balance and Aravons.

There is definitely an alternative entry for the railroad. My sister used it because the turnstiles there were smaller than others. They have to have a way to let wheelchairs and scooters through, so you will have an entrance to every ride/attraction. When we went, my sister couldn't get through the turnstiles at HM and we ended up going through the alternate entrance at the exit. (It's sort of a backstage passage)

Thank you for the info, Chuckers!

Thankfully the turnstile has been removed at Haunted Mansion! I know that made a lot of people happy :cheer2:

Do you recall when your sister road the railroad?

I noticed your ticker - have a fantastic trip!

This was about 3 years ago.. but I just went up to the CM at the turnstile and he said to just come up the exit which was also the wheel chair entrance.

Ordered the Cleo LeSportsac bag as a mother's day gift. Measured the strap before ordering and it came in yesterday :( I don't think it is going to be long enough. Anyone out there that's pooh sized and carries the Cleo bag?

Can 2 somewhat pooh sized adults and 1 small 4 year old fit in one row on splash mountain? Last time I was at MK SM had a bench seat, now the seats look different, just was wondering if all 3 of us could fit into 1 row. Thanks!

I don't think so. There's not a lot of room, plus a lap bar to contend with. In the past, my daughter would ride with me and my husband would sit by himself in the row behind us. Then, we'd ride again, with me alone and my husband with my daughter.

I doubt it. I am fairly Pooh sized but my husband isn't at all. We rode Splash Mountain twice together last week and we wouldn't have fit a small child between us. One of you could ride in front of/behind the other though.

DH and I are both pooh sized, and we don't even like to share a seat together. We have been asking for seats alone but next to each other for years. It is just so much more comfortable and easier to get in and out.

Thanks! That's what we planned on doing. Like I said the last time I was there like 3 or 4 could sit in a row. How are the lap bars? Do they just sort of sit there or do they have to click down so many times?

DH and I prefer to sit together, especially on roller coasters. Its hard to explain but we don't get tossed around. I had a CM offer to let us sit together on Dumbo. We said...umm...no. He said...really...it won't be a problem and explained that he often has larger people ride Dumbo together. I asked him how many people he could fit into a telephone booth.

We do ride next to each other on roller coasters, but Splash is a tight squeeze for us. Also, with it being a low ride, DH has a hard time getting back out, which is even harder if I am sitting next to him.

Also--a tip for anyone who is just close to buckling the seatbelt but, for whatever reason, doesn't want to request a belt extender (though I still recommend that you do--you'll be so much more comfortable and probably safer): recline the seat to buckle your seatbelt.

Just pull the belt into position around your narrowest part (belly or hips), recline your seat back, fasten the belt, and return to the upright position. Of course, the belt will be VERY snug, but this will usually get it buckled if you're close.

Oh, good God. You are a genius.

I don't remember splash having lap bars. Maybe I'm nuts.

I have seen it asked recently, but not answered yet. So I would like to bring the question back up. How is Universal, especially the Harry Potter rides, on us larger folks?

Also, I have seen the lap bars on Splash Mountain mentioned several times but I have not really seen how they are on the Pooh sized either.

I appreciate the information.

Back when I was 180 pounds (waaaaaay back when) the rides were snug at best and some I couldn't fit on at all. I keep a lot in my hips and butt. My DH isn't too pooh sized but he's got a 40 inch waist and he said rides were barely able to accommodate him so there was no way they would me anymore with an extra hundred . So I don't bother to go and let them go by themselves. I can't pay $100 to go and watch most of the fun form the sidelines. :( It's depressing. Potter, he said was VERY VERY snug and as I said, he's bigger than average but not too much.

It has been two years since I have been there, and at that time the big ride at HP was a definite no. In fact, if you were over 6'4" (I think it was) you were too tall to even ride it. And I think we were told around 250 lbs was too much. We did do the walk through tour, which was good to see, and went quick, but not really very much to see.

We were also too big for the Mummy ride. Have not ridden the Hulk Roller coaster or The Simpsons, so cannot say. One nice thing is that if there is a question, most of these rides have sample seats outside that let you see if you fit before actually standing in line for the ride. And if you do stand in line, and then cannot go, they do give you a pass for another ride of your choice. (happened to us on Mummy!)

While there are lots of rides at US and IOA that we cannot ride, there are still some experiences and rides that do work. We had no issue's with MIB, JP, Spider Man or the rides in Suess Landing and comic strip land (the water rides). And there are several shows that it doesn't matter, however the chairs are not necessarily comfortable.
