The Everything and Nothing Thread

Morning all!! :)

Lara, hope your week is getting better.:flower3:

Dax, Glad you got to relax & recharge. Always fun to see how long that feeling lasts before work gets to me again! ;)

Diva, sorry I missed your birthday. Hope you enjoyed it! :goodvibes

Now, in the continuing saga of my life mirroring others on this thread:

Autumn, Happy Birthday tomarrow. :bday: It also happens to be my wedding anniversary!!!

I think Karma has brought us all together on this thread!! :wizard:

Hi everyone!

Oh my goodness, I feel like I have missed so so so much. I have to go back and read through the last 10 pages to feel caught up again!:faint:

I had kind of a crazy ending to my week last week, I caught a nasty bug and ended up in the hospital for a few days with an IV for fluids and potassium so I haven't been around much. I'm feeling a lot better now, my hands are just bruised like crazy from the IV lines. I have very tiny veins so they had to dig around for a while I guess and I look like a UFC fighter or something right now.:rotfl:

After a few days of quiet, things are as busy as ever... back to work, classes starting next week, have to help lots of friends paint and move furniture... AND it's my birthday on Thursday!:woohoo: I have to work, unfortunately, but I get to see some friends and family in the evening and have a nice dinner out so I'm really looking forward to that.

Big big big hugs to anyone who is having a hard week or is feeling a little down.:hug: I always get a little overwhelmed when things start to feel crazy in the fall so for anyone else feeling stressed, just close your eyes and visualize yourself here:

Autunm, so glad you are better.

Trying to decide if this photo reminds me more of Calgon (take me away!)
or Cealis ( the men's "disfunction" drug). ;)

Good morning all and Happy Picture Day.

I've done a bit of travel and once in awhile, I have an experience that is surreal and makes me tear up with the joy when I realize "OMG I am here" seeing this or doing this, etc.

This picture is in Tibet. Travel in Tibet is very restricted. When you enter the country, you have travel papers and there are armed military that check them about every 100 ft. I got very sick in Tibet from the altitude and I could not visit the places normally set aside for tourists. Our guide was able to get special permission for me to visit this small Buddhist monastary. It was in some little town where Westerners do not visit (the town had no electricity).

Anyway, I walked into the monastary and the guide told me that it was a special prayer day and all of the villagers were spending the entire day there. Normally, they pray 4 hours a day (2 in morning and 2 at night) but on these special days they spend all day praying there and the monks make rice for them. So I walk in and I could hear the monks chanting and hitting their gongs and I could hear the villagers all praying and it was so overwhelming.

This picture is in front of one of two large prayer wheels where the villagers walk around it and turn it while praying. This is one of the villagers, who spoke no English, but got so excited when she saw the camera that she rushed over and wanted to be in the picture. Afterwards, she gave me this huge hug and went back to her prayer wheel.

It's not a great picture but it's a great story.

Hey everyone...HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

Still rolling on the high from my time off, though it is dwindling slightly...Will get some pics out later when I get home from work...Hope everyone is having a good one

Focus, I agee about the Karma thing. You are all a great comfort to me and make my day better. I even get a few laughs. The Cialis comment made me laugh, because I saw it too!

Pakey, you are adorable! The picture with the story is amazing. How spiritual you must have felt being there in a place so filled with love and prayer!

Diva love the pic, I have never been on a cruise, maybe someday!

Hey Dax welcome back, always good to see ya! Hope you had a good time!

Hello everyone! Enjoying the pictures, as usual!

Sandee - the Cialis/Calgon observation is hilarious!

Diva - Hope you had a nice birthday evening! Where were you cruising when you took your picture?

Faith - fascinating picture and story! That prayer wheel is amazing! Even your travels are Superwoman worthy!

Meg - love that oasis of a picture! So glad you're feeling better. Good luck with the start of classes!

Dax - hope you can str-e-t-ch that relaxed feeling out as long as possible!

Lara - How are your kids?

I took my picture around this time last year - a late summer bonfire. The rocks in the background are creatively named Twin Rocks.

I want to live here. The more I read your stories and see your pictures, the more I'm convinced this is the right place for me (my husband can golf in the rain).

Not sure if this is a good thing, or a bad thing, but please note in this late summer picture most of our gang is wearing jackets or sweatshirts!

We went to Belize, Honduras, and Cozumel. It was a 7 day Carnival Cruise. A group of us went from my husband's family. I think there was 17 or 18 of us.

Diva, that sounds like so much fun! I'm going on my first cruise with my two sisters in November - Carnival to the Mexican Riviera. What were some highlights from yours?

I loved all of it! The shows are great! The food is great too! We did a couple of excursions. We went cave tubing in Belize and did a 3 reef snorkel trip in Couzmel. They have lots of stuff to do, but we did more chilling than anything. They did have a Men's hairy chest contest. It was HILARIOUS! Some of the guys didn't qualify for "hairy chest" but it was more of a "who can win over the crowd" contest. Our first cruise it was a leg contest. My cousin and I got picked to be judges...then they gave us our catagory. They were things like "chicken legs" "whitest legs" "hairiest legs" "best dancer". My catagory was chicken legs. :lmao: My husband won the "best dancer". :cool1::lmao: You'll have so much fun!!!

Which ship are going on?

Hairy chest contest! Hope I'm not asked to enter! ;) It all sounds like so much fun! We'll be on the Splendor, the week before Thanksgiving. Can't wait!

Yes, thanks Diva! I joined it the day my sister decided she wanted to cruise!

I so second this. That's my kind of place. I can almost see La Push from there (Twilighters will get this) Still lovely pic!

It's a good thing. The only thing I loved about living on Cape Cod was the weather. Jackets or sweatshirts in the summer would be perfect for me.

Good morning everyone! We are almost to the weekend! Thank goodness. Looking forward to a long weekend!
