Ok, I must be quite nuts not to have known this but I just found out that there is a ride called Spaceship Earth(?) inside the Epoct ball  . When we went last year, I had no idea about this so we did not go on. This year, I'd like to. Is it a scary ride for kids? We have 2 boys ages 5 & 6. Thanks! :worship:

It may have been closed for refurbishment when you were there last year. I haven't been on the refurbished version, but I think it's one of the tamest rides at Disney. It's dark, which is about the only thing I can think of that could be an issue for younger kids. DD#2 first went on it when she was 2.5 and has always loved it. Last year (age 5) she was disappointed that it wasn't open and can't wait to go on it this year.

It is a sit-in-a-car-and-ride-through attraction about the history of communication. I haven't seen the refurbished version either, but it has always been a more educational sort of thing -- rather than a rollicking, fun-filled thing. (I enjoy it, but I think there's a bigger chance your kids would be bored than scared.)

I think 5 and 6 year olds would be fine -- it can be dark in some places, but there's nothing really scary. The only other thing is that they turn your car backwards when they bring you down from the top of the ball. Again -- it's not scary (very slow), but moving backward down a hill could be unnerving for some small children.

It is a very slow, continuous ride. Lots of talk, but very informative and interesting to look at. The boys were 7, 5 and 3 last time we went and we did it twice. They liked it.

It's a cute ride---sort of educational, but it's been around so long, it's a must ride for my family--personally I don't think it would be scary, a little dark, but no more so than many other rides-IMHO. The new additions to it are neat--there is a computer screen in your ride car that has you answer a few questions (where are you from, what do you want in the future, etc). The new version of the ride is much better than the old one, in my opinion, since it now goes farther into the future, while still preserving the older parts of the ride that have been around for ages.

Also, only put 2 to a row in the ride car---they take your picture and it pops up on a screen at the exit where you can email it to yourself, with your heads placed on cartoon bodies...it's cute, but there are only 2 bodies on the designs. The design you get is chosen based on the answers you give during the ride.

my 4 year old loved it! she still talks about it a year later! :)

its a little dark but thats it!

It's a great attraction when the heat gets bad and your legs are tired...nice, cool and relaxing. And by Disney standards (might be different since the refurb.) it's quite a long ride. Think I actually dozed off on it last time!

It's one of my kid's favorite attractions. They both fell in love with it when they were each 5 1/2.

My DS was 7 last trip to WDW. He LOVED SE and wanted to ride again and again to figure out how everything worked. :rotfl:

I consented for the reasons above :thumbsup2

Haven't been in since the refurb, but there wasn't anythign scary, other than it being dark.
