Have you guys seen this commercial where this mom grounds her son for smoking weed??? He keeps trying to do things like talk on the phone, watch tv, play video games and she walks in and says, "When I say no weed, I mean no weed!"
Then at the end of the commercial the kid is out with his friends and they ask him if he wants a hit and the kid refuses because he doesn't want to get grounded again.
Is it just me, or is this a wrong message to be sending out??? I mean, kids shouldn't refuse weed just because of a fear of being grounded. To me, that just says that they should go ahead and do it as long as they don't get caught...as long as they don't get caught, there won't be any consiquences.
What happened to the antidrug commercials that really showed the negative effects of the drugs...things that would really scare people from using them. It just doesn't seem right for us to be telling kids the only reason they shouldn't do drugs is because they'll get grounded. Any opinions on this???
