It was an absolutely gorgeous day. As I was writing this update I could almost feel how perfect the weather was that day.

I loved getting to see Michelle and Jen! It was a lot of fun! And, yes, Jen clearly helped Denny overcome his reluctance for DIS meets.

I love the beer samplers and that you were able to get your grapefruit beer. But I love that view even more. What a fantastic way and place to have a little breather. AWESOME views!

That grapefruit beer is SO good and just hanging out with family, drinking, and soaking in the beautiful day was awesome!

With the new fastpass you can't get both soarin and TT. So you were there back when the change was still not too bad!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I dislike this new system. I heard constant complaints about it to while in line.

Your time relaxing in Epcot sampling the brews by the water sound perfect. Glad to see you reunited with your favorite grapefruit beer.

I will never understand who thought those chairs in the lobby were a good idea. If I was a kid they would give me nightmares. Actually, they would give me nightmares now.Then again, there is a clown pool, so perhaps horrifying is the underlying theme.

F&W really is the best time to just sit back and relax at Epcot. Normally I'm too hyper to just sit, but during F&W all bets are off!

I know. I had it made back then. I can't believe we actually got both TT and Soarin that late in the day. I'm sure I didn't change the FP plus changes until around noon.

Yup. We actually had a really nice afternoon with them and, although I don't have any pictures of the kids, they were so well behaved.

I know that Cape May Cafe and the Wave both serve it on their breakfast buffet. I just LOVE that stuff! Posting that picture almost made me want to take a Costco run to get some!

And, yes, I think Denny truly got over any trepidation he had about DIS meets during this past trip. He is totally indoctrinated now!

We had a lovely afternoon. It really was quite the relaxing day. As for the grapefruit beer - I wish they would add that to a permanent menu somewhere in Epcot. It's just SO refreshing!

I have never met a single person who likes those chairs. I learned the last time I stayed at the Boardwalk that they are called "Nanny chairs" because they used to be on Merry-Go-Rounds so the nanny's literally could sit in them while tending to the kids on the ride. The artists who made them are named Todd and Paul, hence their names. Todd and Paul have scared quite a few kids and adults throughout the years/

I find it creepiest when the move the chairs around. Yikes!

It's nice that the reservation system had TT and Soarin' available for later that afternoon. I miss being able to reserve both of those attractions at the same time.


Lens caps can be the hardest things to keep up with. I'm forever losing mine.

So. before I start my update I want to know if any DVCers have purchased the PAP through the current offer that expires at the end of this month?

I have looked at it over and over and I can't decide. The last time we purchased our PAP's it was just over $800 for the two of us with tax. Now it's $1000! The price went up that much in 18 months????? It's crazy!

Ouch! We still have some non-expiring days left on tickets that we plan to use for our next trip, but when the day comes that I have to buy tickets again, I'm going to have sticker-shock, I know it.

So why am I telling you this story. Well, its because our DIS meet produced a "What a Woman” moment for Denny.

This is too funny. But I can see why.

In fact, on the way to the car Denny may or may not have said, “That Jennifer. What a Woman”. So those may not have been his actual words, but clearly he was impressed and he recounted parts of their conversation. I was thrilled that Denny had such a great time because I figured after meeting “the Saints” the night before and meeting Jen & Michelle this morning, he might finally be over his trepidation regarding DIS meets.

He met me and Captain_Oblivious on the same occasion and he still has trepidation??? Okay, yeah, maybe that didn't help the situation.

But it was here that I had a mishap. In my attempt to balance my camera bag, my camera, my phone, my adult beverage, I let the lens cap from my short lens fall on the ground and roll away.

Yup - that’s right. It rolled and rolled and rolled and…… well, you get the picture. And I never found it again. Not kidding. Gone! Just like that. So now I only had one lens cap for two lens. Great!

I have since remedied this problem and all my lens caps have those little attachable do-dads so they can’t ever roll away again.

I lost one of mine a while back and the replacement doesn't fit quite as well. Not the same. So annoying.

I want to go back this October soooo bad! But we're waiting until after Christmas to brave the crazy crowds. I hope they get the app for FP+ working better by then!

We considered the PAPs with the DVC offer too. We were all set to do it. Then we realized, we didn't really need the water parks option, as we might do it one day EVER. So when you look at the regular AP with the DVC discount, it's virtually the same price. Now, while I rarely pass up anything for "free", I would have had to shell out ALL that $$$$ this month, when we have other big bills to deal with. It will be much easier to stomach that cost later in the year, and it can be a Christmas present for the kids, who don't know that we're going.

ETA - Oh, I forgot to comment on your DIS breakfast! I have heard good things about the Wave for breakfast, but not as much good about dinner. Have you ever had dinner there? What fun to get together. Jen looks familiar - probably from FB. Glad Denny had fun too. You might just have a convert on your hands now!

Have you seen a foot doctor or a sports medicine doc. I really think you have plantar fasciitis. You might be a good candidate for a steroid injection. I really do hope you get it resolved. I have PF and its horrible when your feet hurt. Just horrible.

I haven't yet...I'm going to wait to see if it gets better as I lose weight. I have 5 months tll Disney. If it's not better in like, 3 months, I'll go to a dr. I can't imagine how painful an injection in the foot would be though... It's just weird though, I feel like I don't have the normal symptoms of plantar fasciitis! And I was also telling my mom about it, and she said she used to get heel pain too when she was a lot heavier, but doesn't anymore so I'm HOPING it's just that! I'll keep you updated!

Anyway, great update! Another fun Dismeet!

I'm so in love with the Boardwalk...I really need to stay there someday, I know I keep saying that, but really! I wish they would come out with a really good discount, like 40% off rooms like they used to have, but sadly, I think those days are over!

Oooh, I love the Epcot part of this update because I'm SO excited for Food and Wine!!! I can't wait to have that red slushie from France back in my life...and all that beer from Germany! I have to try the grapefruit beer if they have it this year, I know you always rave about it!

I feel like I'm going to have such a problem with my FP+ when I try to make them...I'm already having problems with my ADR's for my trip because I don't know where I'm going to want to be at what time, and now adding FP's in the mix makes it so much harder!!!

I did try the bread pudding! It was really yummy! Heck - I think I tried everything. It was all so good. That was my second time having breakfast there and it was equally good both times!

I know if I don't buy the passes it won't be the end of the world. I can always buy AAA tickets with my credit card rebates and then upgrade the regular passes. My gut tells me to pass on the passes, but I just can't be sure.

I thought about it too and even the premium pass since I am going to DL in the fall but now sure right now when I will be back at WDW so I am taking a pass. Now if the price was better like last time then sure but now not so much.

We had a lovely meal with Jen and Michelle. In fact, it didn’t take long for Denny and Jen to start a conversation about her various international travels and her upcoming trip to Peru. Machu Picchu, Peru to be exact. If I’m not mistaken, she just returned from that trip.

Ah yes Jen and Michelle- Now I am going to go crazy figuring out their DIS names. So great you could meet up with them.
