Any other families out there into The Elf on the Shelf? We received it as a gift for our three kids and I thought they'd be excited to see where the elf is each morning, but they aren't. I think me and my DH are more excited about moving the elf around at night than the kids are about looking for it. It was a great gift, so I am hoping that maybe they will be more into next year!

There are quite a few threads here on the DIS, some on the budget board and some here that deal with the antics of these elves and everybody's kids seem to love them! Maybe your elf is not mischievous enough to hold their interest??

I have hinted LOUDLY that I would like to have this for a couple of years now. I still don't have it but that's ok. If I want it bad enough, I can get it for myself some day. I just love the concept and I remember my parents having the elf when I was very young but I never knew the story that went along with it.

I have one for my preschool classroom and my students are very aware of the elf on the shelf and they remind each other constantly that the elf is watching them!

Kelly Ripa was just doing a great gifts segment on Regis and Kelly earlier this week, Anderson Cooper was guest hosting that day and Elf on the Shelf was one of her picks!
