Has anyone ever read this one?

My DD and I finished it up this weekend.

The story revolves around a birthday party that Horace the Elephant is throwing for himself. He cooks up a huge feast and invites 11 of his friends over for a party. Then the feast is stolen!

Through wonderful illustrations and a series of clues scattered throughout, you have to solve the mystery of who stole the feast!

This is a great read, with some really good puzzles!

I know that he's also written one called Animalia - I'll be looking for that too!

I love Graeme Base's books! The Eleventh Hour is wonderful and so is Anamalia. Try "My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch" and "The Sign of the Seahorse: A Tale of Greed and High Adventure in Two Acts" they are also wonderful. A few years ago, Graeme came to the school where I taught and he was just the nicest and funniest guy. The children loved him!

This sounds like a MUST READ! I will go looking for him in the local library!

Also AMAZON!

Sounds like a MUST HAVE AS WELL!!!

Thanks, Bernie.

Way cool!

Thanks for the leads, mrsv98! I'm going to go hunting for them too! It must have been really neat to meet Graeme!

See ya at the library, Gina! :)

Are these books aimed at young people? Or just fun books? I will have to look for one of these at the library.

We love this one! Yes Katholyn, it's a kids book...I guess....but then again...so is Harry Potter :)

We have Animalia. Love the illustrations. Also found one at Dollar Tree called "The Worst Band in the Universe" It came with a CD. I haven't looked at it yet, so I don't know exactly how that one is.
