The Earls meet the Princesses:A June PTR *6/13 WE LEAVE IN THE MORNING!*

Oh, do you have any pictures of Paddington?? What a great name! :goodvibes

Ooh, I love the picture of the girls with Mary Poppins, so very sweet!

I didn't see School Bread from Norway on your list! :scared1:

Ok I am all caught up. WOW, you have been busy.

Your children are adorable. Seeing Disney through their eyes is what makes it all worth it. :lovestruc
Thank you! I agree, it's great to see their eyes light up.:cloud9:
We will be there at the same time. WL June 16-23.
WL looks beautiful. Maybe we'll run into each other.
We are going to the clambake at BC, so I will get to see the resort. I've only seen it from a distance.
Can't wait to eat some yummy seafood.:yay:
Your ADRs look good as does your intinerary. We have picked some of the same days for the parks. We will park hop though. My girls are older and they seem to really like it. I will need to get walking a lot more to keep up with them.
Ugh, I know. My walking/running plan has been thwarted by the cold, wet weather we've been having. I'm going to have to make up some ground soon.
I like the way you have your drive planned. We drive from PA. Like you we have one long day and then one short day. We have less to drive, but we have major cities to deal with. (Baltimore, DC, Richmond, Jacksonville) The traffic can be tough here.
We have some family in PA. My uncle lives in Philidelphia and I have great aunts and uncles and second cousins in Homestead, outside of Pittsburgh.
I am very jealous of your Mary Poppins pic. She is my favorite. I have also never seen the character bus at WS. Where have I been???:confused3
I have a cool story about that Mary Poppins. We saw her in Epcot and then the same Mary Poppins was at CRT breakfast 2 days later. She of course didn't remember the girls, but when I mentioned how happy we were to see her again, she played right along without missing a beat. Even though the oldest pretty much "got" that the princesses were actresses, she was completly sold. They were sure that Mary Poppins remembered them.:goodvibes
Can't wait to hear more about your trip.
Coming up, right after my garage sale. I have so many things on my to do list for the sale, I should start a pre trippie for that!:rotfl:

Lots. I'll post one soon.:goodvibes

Me too.

How could I forget School Bread?:scared1: Add it to the list!!:rotfl:

Love the picture of the girls with Mary Poppins! Where did you find Baloo?

We still have Chelsea and Connor's masks from 2004! :thumbsup2

Our lists look very similar -- great minds! Chelsea had such a good time doing the pick-a-pearl last year that she wants to do it again this summer -- and of course those tiles! :thumbsup2

Me too.:goodvibes Um, I think he and King Louis were both on the path behind the character spot. We didn't even know the character spot building was there.

I'm glad to hear that. :yay: You said in your report that you're getting Chelsea's set this year, right? Any settings in mind? Ooh, if she gets another pearl, she could get earrings!

Earrings would be so pretty -- I think she has mentioned either a necklace or earrings.

I decided yesterday that it was time to sit down with my handy dandy Disney binder and crunch some numbers. The package portion of our Disney vacation is already paid off:woohoo:, but I needed to take another look at what was still needed to pay for other vacation necessities, like Moroccan tile and Grey Goose slushies.;) I'd done some ballpark figuring earlier in the planning process but I kept thinking of things I needed to add. Did you know that Disney budget numbers can magically multiply on their own when the Disney binder is closed? Don't say I didn't warn you. Here are the budget categories I've figured we need to plan for and how we're doing saving towards them.

Driving
We'll need cash for gas, tolls, 2 or maybe 3 meals and a hotel room. I've got a gas gift card plus some extra stashed. We need about $250 more.

Extra meals, snacks and tips

We're paying OOP for Beaches and Cream, some counter service when we first get in and tips. I have almost all of this stashed away. I would be comfortable with another $100, JIC.

Souvies

The kids each got $20 in Disney Dollars for Easter, plus they'll get another $20 in Disney Dollars in their "Welcome" room gifts. Any other spending money they're responsible for. George and I will each have gift cards. I have our Disney Dollars set aside and will add to them and then buy the gift cards closer to the trip. I'd like another $5000, no really $100 and then we're good.

Misc

I'll probably forget something, or misjudge how much something will cost, or just really, really want something I forgot to budget for. I'm thinking maybe $200? This might come out of the regular budget.

Did I forget anything? This is important because my husband, who is the dearest man ever, hates to spend money unless he knows about it ahead of time. If he thinks that this Disney vacation is going to set us back an arm and a leg, he's ok with that, but if we get to WDW and we actually have to pay an arm and TWO legs, he's not happy.

I have some happy news, dear readers, that will help us set aside the remainder of our Disney money:
I have a job!:woohoo:

It's extremely part time, pays well, and is in the school system. I'll be tutoring 7th graders in writing for an hour after school 4 days a week. Madeline will take the bus to the middle school and watch Ian for me while I teach my 4 or 5 kids from the set curriculum. I'm excited to get back into the school system, even if only for a few hours a week, and by the end of the 5 week program, I'll have a nice chunk of change saved to cover our extras.:yay:

Gee wiz, I leave for a week and I come back to 4 pages of posting. Okay chatty cathy: 1. nice to get travel mail, we just got some too! From Disney, so that was fun! 2. The chicks, Cute! What happens when they start becoming teenage "chicks"? Did I miss that? 3. Budget sounds good, but yes to the surrey ride or something like that around POFQ... I agree that would be nice! 4. Great timing on the PT job, that is always a bonus! :yay: 5. Good heavens HOW could you almost forget the school bread ?!?!?!!?!?:rotfl:

Oooh, it's like you knew I told myself I was going to do bills and budget tonight to fine tune my Disney money....and I didn't. :lmao: Sometimes I feel like ignorance is bliss. :rolleyes1

Sometimes its nice to live in a fantasy world, if only for a little while.:lmao:Congrats on the job! Any little bit will help. :thumbsup2

Thanks!:goodvibes

Your budget looks good! I am a lot like your DH in that I like to know where all the money goes. I don't necessarily need it all planned out ahead of time, but if I have $100 in my pocket I want to be able to account for every penny. My DH hates it....he says I "nickel and dime" him! LOL!

Congratulations on the job. Sounds like a perfect fit! But I have an 8th grader and I don't know that I would want to tutor him! It's a crazy age! :rolleyes1 Lots of hormones and desire for independence in a body that's not quite prepared!! :rotfl:

The budget looks good -- I really need to get on the ball with mine.

Hurray for the new job!!! That's awesome!!! :woohoo:
Thanks. I'm pretty excited.:goodvibes

Do you have a long lost brother from Ann Arbor?:rotfl:

My husband teaches 7th grade geography and pre-kids I subbed in the middle school. You're right. Big ball o' hormones!:rotfl: I enjoy this age, though. Most of them are not too cool for school, quite yet.

I'm pretty sure he's not my long-lost brother if he is a geography teacher! I don't know my left from my right, much less East from West!! LOL! :lmao:
