The Dynamic Dieting Duo's Disney Diet Buster - QSDP Pre-trip report

I am subbing...can't wait to hear about your trip....congratulations on the weight loss (to both of you), any weight loss is good loss...you are making changes to your lifestyle and that is what is important!

Yummy, I have always assumed that jjohnson was a 'he'. It has only been lately that I have considered other possibilities. I have come to the conclusion that the reason for my thinking 'he' instead of 'she' might have to do with the name. Whomever this person has made a great contribution to the DIS, as have you with this great report. I pass the link on to all my frugal and impatient friends who find making ADR's and being at a certain place at a certain time to be very vacation unfriendly.:worship:

raniroo, I admire those who notice the first few unwanted pounds and then stomp them out right then and there rather than wait until they get as big as I once was and face the daunting task of climbing that hill. Wish I had been smarter younger but am glad that I finally got some sense.

BTW, those of you who might get a hankering for a TS meal at some point during your trip - you can stop at any TS or Guest Service place and they will check availability for all the park restaurants and you can then choose a place you want to eat without all the fuss and worry. Sometimes there are more choices than others but you would be surprised at how often they have openings because people who made ADR's months ago do not show up at their appointed time. It is difficult to know what I want to eat for dinner and when let alone make such decisions so very long in advance.

We are going the end of November and we are on the QSDP also. Can't wait to read your reviews. Hope you have an excellent vacation. Will be waiting on your trip report!

I'm totally in for this one!

We're going in October and just added the QSDP!!! I've used the DP before, but never QS! I'm excited to see what all you post!

I may have an ADR at Chefs just to see Remy too. ;)

:rotfl: Oh gosh, you sure caught me there, Denise! But don't they have magical fruit cups in WDW, that take calories and fat away? :rolleyes1 Seriously, since it'll be a gizillion degrees and super humid (we're from up North), I do think we'll be trading a lot of deserts for fruit cups, and use a lot of drinks for bottled water. We splurged a bit more in December when it was cooler, but I think weather will dictate a bit what we'll eat in August. Milkshakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches and ice cream Mickey bars, here we come! :woohoo:
Oh, and welcome! :wave2:

I, too, am on Weight Watchers (14 pds so far, 30 pound goal), and it's all about the fiber! Lots of fiber in fruit.

We were on DDP last WDW trip, just entirely too much food. We barely used all our snack credits, and got to the point with QS places that we went where we could take dessert with us for later. We took home lots of rice krispie mickey's!

Couple of suggestions. I'm pretty sure the ice cream cookie sandwich at the Main Street Bakery (not the ice cream parlor, that would be too logical) is still a snack credit. Great value, and plenty for two to split.

Never been to BB, because everytime we think to go, we just go back to Typhoon Lagoon (love it :thumbsup2). At TL, and BB as well I think, they have these fresh made mini donuts. Last time we went, I'm pretty sure they were a snack credit, but that doesn't look to be the case anymore, but worth the OOP (they are still warm). Of course, it is kind of strange to eat donuts while wearing a bathing suit, but I managed .

Now time to repeat our mantra: Fruit, fruit, FRUIT....[/QUOTE]

Thanks so much for the encouraging suggestions. Working at meeting 45lb weight loss before Feb trip. So far 'this close' to 15 lb first big target after about a month - so things are on track. Working at making fitness activities more an everyday thing and lotsa fruit and veggies. And no Cheetos!! :wizard:
My experience at WDW restaurants has always been great food but way, way too much. One trick has been to get the kiddie Mickey Waffles (portion control!) for breakie every other day, keep lunches small and share snacks with the DH (but not my DoleWhip - some things are sacred!. Hopefully this works again. We like to have nice sit down dinners but I have to skip/trade the deserts for things I can take with me...though nothing is keeping me from the grapefruit cake at the Brown Derby!:dance3:

Hi there folks!

I have lost nearly 140#'s so far and have made several Disney trips during this journey. I have made certain food rules and thus far have never come back with a gain and even have lost as much as 7 pounds (during two week trips) and as little as 3#.

I take my scales with me to keep me reminded.

Share meals, have a bit or two of something that you crave and when satisfied stop. Toss some of the bread on sandwiches, ask for the dressing on the side and use the fork tip.

Throw away those awful prepackaged desserts or anything else that is included that you do not want. Ask for a bottle of water instead of the dessert where you can. It is better to 'waste' some food than for it to go to 'waist'.

Walk, walk, walk. It balances out the extra food nicely. :)

BTW, I got a PM from jjohnson and since she signed it Joyce I have concluded that is probably female. ;)

I'm a little late but I'm here also. We are also on the QSDP. We had a bounceback booked at pop with regular dining. When I called to change over to the QSDP. I think the cm thought I was nuts.:scared1:

We have 2 adr's for 10 days one is Garden Grill and Tusker House breakfest. We may have a CM dinner(waiting for someome to pm me) if we do we will cancle Tusker breakfest. I can't handle adr's for 10 days it is to much. We did it the past 2 years.

Congrats on the weight loss. It took me a year to loose 10 pounds from baby number 2. I wasn't trying to hard. But once I got done at my work there was less munching. I still have 5 on from each kid but hey you can't have everything. I figure 10 pounds from 2 kids. I only weihg myslef once a year. But Im a size 6 and I can tell if things are getting snug.

Kelly, size 6 and have had two children and you are worried about your weight? WTG girl. It is those who get on top of it before it gets on top of them that have it right.

My second 'baby' is 6 ft5 and nearly 300#'s himself. I cannot blame my fat on my babies but I can sure give credit to the grandchildren who gave me a reason to want to get healthy and be around to see them grow up.
