The Duggar Family is pregnant AGAIN!

I started reading through this thread - got to page 11 and just couldn't continue - so forgive me if this question has been asked.

Now before I ask it - if they truly are a very happy family and the children are not resentful for having to parent their younger siblings - if they honestly can afford this size family without gettign hand-outs - good for them.

BUT - and here is my questions.. ever wonder if they would have stopped a few years ago if there wasn't television/media interest and more than likely income because they had so many children? No more children - they become old news and the $ stops flowing.

I sincerely hope that is not that case - but how can one NOT wonder?

:confused3

I saw the video on You Tube about the Duggar Family Christmas. Anyway, one of the girls was making all her sisters a new outfit. She showed off one that she made. It consisted of a petticoat, dress, apron and BONNET!!

Laura Ingalls called. She wants her clothes back.

yep. the info was poasted eariler in the thread. something about not knowing the purity of the genes.

Missed that---ok, right there they and their JOKE of a religion have lost any credibility.

I do not understand how anyone can admire this family in any way when they THINK like that. Do they really???? I'm all for respecting the religion of others, but any talk of "purity of genes" is on par with Nazi-ism.

They are not Christians, period.

Well to be fair, it's not the "purity of genes" per se that's the issue. It is, and I quote:

...anti adoption (when you adopt a child, they inherit generational curses from their birth parents and these must be researched, discovered, and specifically renounced).

So it's more of a cursed gene issue as opposed to a pure gene issue.

To be fair.

They're still "out there" though.

I think that Michelle will know a heck of a lot more about cursed genes if she continues to have babies in her 40's. I had my DD when I was 38 and I had a BOATLOAD of tests because my pregnancy was considered high risk for genetic abnormalities because of my age. She's been very lucky so far, but I think her aging eggs will eventually catch up with her.

It's about more than being disappointed. It's about being denied the right to choose the course of your future life if you're a woman. It's about being forced to work as a nanny for your parents.

Several people have mentioned that the Duggar children "like" wearing the prairie dresses and long hair. I thought it was interesting on yesterday's Oprah that focused on polygamists that all of the women who had left that lifestyle, some as recently as four months ago, wore pants and had modern hair. If they really liked those clothes so much, they could continue to wear them, but none of them have. I also doubt that the Duggar girls would continue to wear those clothes if they had a choice.

As I have said earlier, my DH is the 2nd oldest of 12 children and he did not appreciate it when they had another one. His feelings were felt across the board by all of the older children from what we have discussed. Apparently, they were embarrassed by how many children were in their family and felt as if their parents did not spend adequate time with them as was. They were also forced to dress in the prairie dresses and long hair. My DH remembers going skiing one time and his sisters having to SKI in long dresses and skirts...:sad2: . After a few of their children have went a bit WILD:rockband: after leaving the house or left home early my in-laws have finally relaxed their dress code and hair/makeup code.:worship: Thank God! I felt so bad for my younger sis-in-laws. Now they let the kids dress pretty normally but my MIL still dresses like she always has. Early on I had told her that she had the kids so tightly bound that they were like a branch you pull it back far enough it is going to to do one of 2 things- Snap or smack you in the face. She didn't believe me until a few whacked her in the face, metaphorically speaking. :rolleyes1 :guilty: As sad as it is for that particular child's sake, maybe that is what is going to have to happen to Mrs. Duggar......so that she can get a dose of REALity.

I think it more or less has to do with the generational curses in the bible. meaning sins of our fathers .. God has adopted all of us. :cloud9: :lovestruc

Yes, technically by definition, they are a family unit, but to me it's more of a unit, like the Borg on Star trek, without the violence.;) WE ARE BORG. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED.:rotfl:

I was waiting for some one to say this....I couldn't be the only one thinking it!!

I wonder the same thing.

I said before, but not sure what page. Jon and Kate are stealing their thunder.

Taken from a post on 5/12/08:

On the Duggars website, they list one of their favorite links as ATI. This is a Bill Gothard organization, and this is what's taken from his website:

...anti beards for men (unless they have a prior "religious conviction" about having them)
...anti short hair for women
...anti all contemporary music of any kind, including Christian
...anti adoption (when you adopt a child, they inherit generational curses from their birth parents and these must be researched, discovered, and specifically renounced).
...pro quiverful and pro reversal proceedures
...pro homeschooling (especially ATI)
...against girls having higher education
...anti-dating, pro courtship, parent-led
...believes that adult children are under the authority of their parents till married
...anti Cabbage Patch dolls
...circumcision is the biblical choice for parents of baby boys
...diseases have a spiritual root
...anti youth groups, and his followers are often against children in Sunday School
...extreme teachings regarding "eyetraps" (modesty),
...that divorce is unacceptable under any circumstances
...followers are called to "higher standards"

I believe Michelle went to college. I know she's has a realtor's license & I think she also has/had a license to sell insurance. Would she not allow the same for her girls?!?!?!?

Darn! Now the Duggars will have to send Pa to Mancado to get some new fabric so the girls can make some new ones! Dam that Half Pint!!!!:rotfl:

What????

No, sorry, that's messed up.

All the poor little children who need homes and these people continue to breed endlessly. But let those poor little children go homeless. Yea that's, real "Christian" :sad2: :sad2: My God is FAR more loving.

How anyone can be "anti-adoption" really boggles my mind (can you tell?). Oh and yea, I was adopted. And I thank God everyday for that.

Ditto... I too was adopted and cannot for life of me understand why there are people out there who are so against it.

DH had an Aunt and Uncle who were childless but would not adopt for similar reasons to the Duggars, but not quite so extreme. Anwyay, after i got to know the Aunt I just happened to mention that I was adopted and I turned out ok and also that I would not hesitate to adopt a child myself and actually did put applications in.. one for a domestic adoption and one for an overseas adoption.

For reasons I won't go into here we were not able to adopt domestically and whilst waiting for word back about the overseas one, I fell pregnant.

But it hurts to know that there are so many people out there who are anti adoption. How could anyone pass up the opportunity to love a child and give a chid a home?

Um, that would be Mankato, Tracy doesn't have a good fabric shop :lmao: :worship: :cool1: (but they have a really cool lighting store, oops, wrong century).

you miss understood. I am for adoption as is God..

As a mother through adoption, I have to say that I think kids with special needs (actually all kids) deserve a better home than anything the Duggers could provide, so I would not be in favor of them adopting.

Whoa. Those are some wild and crazy "rules" there. I had no idea they were that far out. I can only agree with one of his rules and It isn;t that I really "agree" with it but homeschooling doesn't bother me one way or the other.

I think this one bothers me the most: " ...diseases have a spiritual root".
