On the Duggars website, they list one of their favorite links as ATI. This is a Bill Gothard organization, and this is what's taken from his website:
...anti beards for men (unless they have a prior "religious conviction" about having them)

...anti all contemporary music of any kind, including Christian
...anti adoption (when you adopt a child, they inherit generational curses from their birth parents and these must be researched, discovered, and specifically renounced).

...pro homeschooling (especially ATI)
...against girls having higher education
...anti-dating, pro courtship, parent-led
...believes that adult children are under the authority of their parents till married
...anti Cabbage Patch dolls
...circumcision is the biblical choice for parents of baby boys
...diseases have a spiritual root
...anti youth groups, and his followers are often against children in Sunday School
...extreme teachings regarding "eyetraps" (modesty),
...that divorce is unacceptable under any circumstances
...followers are called to "higher standards"
One of mine thinks I am rotten for not letting him play soccer. 
No kids experiences everything that is good in life. Life is just not like that.
