The Duggar Family is pregnant AGAIN!

Someone up there mentioned taking some hard to place child instead of having their own.

No can do. Adoption is not possible if you follow their faith to the letter.

Personally, I think some of the stuff they believe in are just silly and ridiculous. I mean, Cabbage Patch dolls? For real? JMO.

If I were one of the older children. I'd be furious. #1 because I'd probably have another child to raise. #2 because the mom blindsighted them with the pregnancy announcement.
I understand if an older child has to babysit a sibling or something every so often, but not raise them. It seems like punishment to me and it's not fair. Why should the older children have to take care of the younger ones. They didn't bear them, they have no responsiblity whatsoever.

JMO.

I'm sure they are not furious. After all, it is all those children know. I do think the girl who bought her mom a nice non-preggo dress felt a bit disappointed that mom would not be able to wear it.

I understand it's what they know, but wouldn't they get slightly tired of it? Taking care of their siblings I mean.

Wait one Sec, so a 9 month old is sleeping in a room of 6 (is it?) other girls ranging from 9 months to 19 years, and they are all trying to sleep??

Now i feel sorry for them! :(

Well, the new baby has to be close to it's "buddy" to be taken care of during the night. Maybe this is their way of teaching the girls to be moms in the future.

What about if the baby is a boy, does it sleep in the girls room?

i feel so sorry for those kids :sad2:

I know someone who believe that Cabbage Patch Dolls and Care Bears are evil. They won't even have Santa on their Christmas Tree as Santa is not Christian.

With all the silly talk of Michelle's uterus being a clown car, she and JB are producing beautiful, healthy children. Combined with her easy-breezy personality, it makes you wonder if this is what she was meant to do in life. Not all women are built like this.

hmm, since my body was 'built for having babies', should I pop out as many as possible? Is that a responsible thing for any person to do? Set aside any finances, there is a personal responsibility to take care of your kids. Hired help is fine but turning your own children into your indentured servants just isn't acceptable in my view. What would she seriously do if the older kids walked off the job? Told her, she made her bed now lay in it? I think her easy-breezy personality would depart and they'd take their family out of the public spotlight. Things would go downhill very quickly in that household. It takes more than 2 parents to care for that many children, there are not enough hours in the day to do it all.

Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. ;)

:thumbsup2

yep. the info was poasted eariler in the thread. something about not knowing the purity of the genes.

I did not know that.

Taken from a post on 5/12/08:

On the Duggars website, they list one of their favorite links as ATI. This is a Bill Gothard organization, and this is what's taken from his website:

...anti beards for men (unless they have a prior "religious conviction" about having them)
...anti short hair for women
...anti all contemporary music of any kind, including Christian
...anti adoption (when you adopt a child, they inherit generational curses from their birth parents and these must be researched, discovered, and specifically renounced).
...pro quiverful and pro reversal proceedures
...pro homeschooling (especially ATI)
...against girls having higher education
...anti-dating, pro courtship, parent-led
...believes that adult children are under the authority of their parents till married
...anti Cabbage Patch dolls
...circumcision is the biblical choice for parents of baby boys
...diseases have a spiritual root
...anti youth groups, and his followers are often against children in Sunday School
...extreme teachings regarding "eyetraps" (modesty),
...that divorce is unacceptable under any circumstances
...followers are called to "higher standards"

They must not have ever read the "real" Bible and the scripture (not cure which one) that says "Raise up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall never part from it". It isn't the genes that decide who we are to be, it is how we are raised, and that is obvious with this family. Can't wait to see which Duggar child ends up in jail first :lmao:

I was still reading this thread and hadn't got that far yet. I also had not been to their website nor even knew that one exsisted. I had watched it a few times because it draws you in with all those kids but am not a huge fan and think the mother must be on meds to be that dang happy.

The only way I will judge the Duggars is if/when one of those kids writes a tell-all book to tell us their side of the story. As far as I am concerned those kids are sheltered, fed, clothed, educated and enriched. All kids should be so lucky.

:yay:

I will repeat....

Nope, sorry, I don't need a tell-all book...
There is plenty of information publicly out there now for me to make my judgement. When I say that these parents disgust me, it is truly my opinion of them, and them alone, based on their actions. Based on what they have willingly portrayed to the public.

That is what I thought also.

I think that this is a life they know, and are comfortable with. All kids are disappointed in their lives in some ways. That is the right of every child.:rolleyes1 One of mine thinks I am rotten for not letting him play soccer. :snooty: No kids experiences everything that is good in life. Life is just not like that.

It's about more than being disappointed. It's about being denied the right to choose the course of your future life if you're a woman. It's about being forced to work as a nanny for your parents.

Several people have mentioned that the Duggar children "like" wearing the prairie dresses and long hair. I thought it was interesting on yesterday's Oprah that focused on polygamists that all of the women who had left that lifestyle, some as recently as four months ago, wore pants and had modern hair. If they really liked those clothes so much, they could continue to wear them, but none of them have. I also doubt that the Duggar girls would continue to wear those clothes if they had a choice.

Maybe. But, then again, maybe my son will choose to wear torn up jeans once he leaves here.:rolleyes1 Most kids make choices that are different once they grow up. I did. My mom did. Her mom did.

These kids know what is out there. If only due to the tv business, which may be a blessing in disguise for them. It didn't kill my grandmother to raise her siblings. They had very little exposure to the outside world. They were poor farm kids with a schizophrenic mama. She didn't resent it, they didn't resent it, and they still all grew up to do different things in life. All worked, some went on with their education even though they were raised to think they would be mamas, and the daddy's would support them. I figure the same will happen here.

Everyone is different. Different is what makes life interesting. i would not choose anyone's life but my own. That doesn't make everyone else wrong.:hippie:
