The Duggar family are on the Today Show and she just announced she is expecting again, number 18! WOW!

Those kids are amazing to me and just beautiful! But WOW! And the mother has done something with her hair, toned it down a little or something, it looks great!

Congratulations to them I guess. Holy moley she must have a steel uterus. How can she keep pumping them out? Well if it works for them- and it seems to- then congratulations.

They asked the oldest boy for a reaction and he looked ill about it IMO. He seemed shocked, which I don't understand.

They definitely rid her of the early 90's hair-do.

I hope it all works out for them.

I'm surprised they announced it already - seems like she is "just" pregnant, and about 1 in 4 pregnancies end in m/c. I'm a big fan of waiting 12 weeks until outing myself.

I agree. The girl in the back looked the same.

I thought all of them looked good, though. New haircuts, a bit of make-up on the girls. Different clothing.

I like big families, and know lots of them. Thus I hope this family is as happy as the ones I know.

Enhanced with Velcro.

Personally, I think it's stupid and unfair to the rest of the kids. There, I said it.

I agree with you, in general, but if there were a contest, I would vote her as least likely to miscarry. Unless she's had miscarriages in the past, she probably assumes (perhaps incorrectly) that she'll carry this one to term, also.

She'll just throw them on the pile with the rest of them and expect their "buddy" or whatever she calls them to raise them in their "jurisdictions".

From what I have heard she has been told by a doctor before that she should not have any more children.

They need to cut it out before her DH ends up raising those kids by himself.

They just showed "Breakfast in bed with Emiril" on GMA. The mother they honored had 17 kids. But this was from the 60's to 70's. It was quite touching. However, I have to wonder if they got the same notoriety(money and support) that the Duggers have. Or had the "buddy" system. I seriously doubt it.

From what I remember, I think her first preganacy was a miscarriage. Something about her being on birth control, then getting off of it to have a baby and since she miscarried they saw it as a sign that they should not use birth control and that the Lord would bless them with whatever number of children they were to have.

My question is shouldn't some of those older kids be going off to college or moving out yet? I think the oldest son is 19 or 20 and he is still dressing like his 2 year old brother!

Can they AFFORD to send any of the kids to college? I'm not thinking of just the college expenses, but the loss of a worker/nursemaid. Perhaps they commute to a community college?
