The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane

I just got my dress today and absolutely agree with them. The medium I purchased feels more like a small too.

It seems to have a mind of its own, moving upward which created a puffiness like the dress needed to be shortened on the shoulder seam. I hope this all makes sense.

I even tried on my medium Haunted Mansion dress thinking I gained more weight but it was still slightly loose as I mentioned in my review a while back.

It's a weird fit and I'm sending mine back. So sad.
Weird question, but did the armholes seem kinda small to you, too? I don’t know if I’m just used to Disney’s armholes being huge or if I got an oddball dress. It’s like the top part of my dress was made for a kid.

edited to add that I got the Hawaiian Stitch dress on same day I received castle dress, both mediums, but way off on fit. Hawaiian dress fit fine, like my others. The castle dress is approximately the same size as some of my size 4-6 department store dresses that have been hanging in my closet for ages.

on Facebook - there is a page called That Disney Dress Shop Life - a bunch of people bought this dress and it really seems to tug around the hips
Thank you!

Re armhole, I did not find that to be true with my dress.
From the red line up to the shoulders, I thought the dress fit perfectly. The princess seams in the bust area fit well with my 34DD cup size. I wasn't squashed like a sardine, I was defined.

From the red line down that's were things went wonky and tight. Not snug but tight. I wonder what the dress would look like on a thinner petite frame because it simply didn't work for this curvy gal.

Tall women with a slender or even muscular build that are C, D & DD cup sizes should do well and may still have to go up a size.

And if you look at shopdisney size chart below, 4-6 is a Small.
The bust measurement on a medium fit great for 34DD but everything else was tight and the waistline was too low.
If I were to get a large the bust would be too big, the waist & hip would work but still the waistline would be too low.

Ok this makes me think I have an oddball dress…..which is something my husband kept trying to tell me when I showed it to him. I’m curvy…got a booty and a D cup. I’m average height and no one could ever accuse me of being slender. The red line down I had no issues. The redline on up would not zip….well, maybe a smidge lower than red line, but the waist/hips were not the issue. I was even able to keep my sweatpants on while I pulled dress up (don’t judge…it’s cold here)
My husband keeps telling me to call and complain, but what good would that do? They are completely sold out so it’s not like they could send a replacement medium or large.

Update 1/24/22: SOLD
If anyone is interested in a size medium, please PM.

It’s almost like they have sewn a small top onto a medium skirt if that makes sense

The parks still don't have them available and I plan on returning mine if no one is interested, I can't be alone here, When word gets out about the fit issues, others may return their dresses as well. I wonder if you can be added to a waitlist?

Yes, but it's the opposite for me. Right? It's an unusual cut. And I'm only 5'2" - not average height at all, making me think it's not petite friendly.

I cannot image trying to make alterations to a fully lined dress at full price! Nope! Not going to do it! Ha!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend with your man!

Found out that if you start the return online, they’ll send you a shipping label for free. I’m still gonna hang on to mine for a bit I think. I have a Ralph Lauren dress that is similar fit, except the RL has a bit of stretch and will zip…..or at least did last time I tried it on. I’m really hoping I can just make this one work eventually.

If they made SKIRTS out of dooney & burke designs, I'd be buying them all!

(of course i'd be naked up top because I can never seem to find tops to go with the skirts I buy! LOL)
I wish they did more skirts I love my teacup skirt and feel it’s had more wear than white! Orange bird or sally (also wish fitting rooms would reopen so Disney can get my $$$ before dress prices get bumped up to an unjustifiable price)

It’s beautiful, and a perfect style for me, but why must it be so very pink?! I wanted a blue/purple 50th dress 😭😭😭
I agree, the dress itself is beautiful and I love the fabric and material pattern and the style, but I don't like the color at all. If it is going to be that pale and pastel, I would really have liked to have seen blue (I associate blue with Cinderella and her castle- redone castle or not), or at the very least a little pinker. From the photos I have seen of the dresses shipped, it doesn't look as pink as it is pictured on the website- more of a nude beige-- maybe the color just isn't picked up in photos? Doesn't seem like the color would be that flattering on a lot of people, but it sounds like it has major fit issues anyway.

I love everything about the 50th anniversary dress. Just everything. Except for the fact that it probably won't fit me right, haha!

I am somewhat broad-shouldered and "larger-framed" on the upper half of my body, but have no hips, thin thighs (in relation to the rest of my body) and no butt at all. I also have overly fleshy upper arms that I really like to conceal. It sounds like this dress is constructed all wrong for me!

I love it enough that I think it would be worth the expense of buying it to fit my largest body areas and having it professionally altered, though. Just waiting for it to get back in stock! They will make more, right? I don't want to pay eBay prices.

It sounds like your body shape will be perfectly fine for this style.

Oh really? I thought people who are larger "up top" were having issues.

I've started lifting hand weights while sitting at my desk just to tone my arms for this dress (I usually avoid anything sleeveless). It's inspiring me, haha.

Now I just need to find one!

I think @1GoldenSun might be referring to this dress. Right?

Was so busy with work that I totally missed the castle dress release...praying they restock it online because I'm not getting to the parks before July, if then. We have a stupid project that's being delayed again because the vendor can't get their act together.

I am 5'10" and wear S in Dress Shop dresses...do you think I would need to size up to M? I am 30D so fairly slim

I've not seen anyone post it's being sold in the parks yet. The sizing, I don't think it's petite friendly and I felt it ran a size small. That's a hard call with your height and bust size. You're so tiny! If the dress shop dresses (size S) fit a little loose, I'd recommend a Small, if not then get the medium.

Do yourself a favor, buy both!
