The dreaded crane

It was up this morning....we even saw a worker Ina yellow basket working on the upper spire. (Yikes I'm afraid of heights, don't know how they do it!)

honestly i don't mind the crane being there, i'd rather have the crane up than a bunch of walls around the park.

just think of it that you are not the only one who has it in your picture- everyone else has it in their pictures too!

They are doing some work on the castle, but not lights right now

They didn't stay up there all the time - generally it seemed they moved during MRFF, but that could be because of fireworks. They did not leave during Elena's welcome, and even were using power tools during the presentation.

Um...i was there today and it most definitely was up. It was the first thing we noticed when we got on the ferry this morning. It was without a doubt present today (8/13) from opening until at least 2pm. Though it didn't look like light hanging, it looked liked cleaning or something along those lines.

We went back this evening and it was down, though still visible from behind Castle and construction walls. At least we got one good picture in!

dis boards Facebook just posted the crane at the castle. We don't usually get it at the end of August. Anyone know how long it takes to get the lights up? We have 13 days till we go.

The crane has been up every September that we have visited.

Crane was up today. Was chatting with a cast member and he said they would be putting up Christmas lights but that the crane comes down at 5pm everyday. Not sure how accurate that info is but wanted to pass on what I was told.

Thanks for passing on the info. I hope that's true. Then at least it would be possible to get some pics without the crane. I think the only ones I have without a crane are from my December trip a couple years ago lol.

I remember the crane being in my first pic during a Feb visit. I'll be there for two weeks in Sept so I hope I can get a pic without it! I have a crystal palace ressie before opening too!!

Yeah, I'm terrible at Photoshop but even I can make a crane go away against a blue sky. Maybe even against a few clouds.

Yesterday, the crane was out in the afternoon, and they were working in a bucket on the blue roof. Couldn't tell if it was repairs or lights. But for wishes to wasn't visible from the front. But you could see it in a lowered position on the back. I told a photopass photogrspher they should add a dragon as a magic shot. She said she would actually pass that suggestion along.

So is it usually up in January too so that they can take the lights down?

It was up last January, and we could see the people working. I assume it was to remove lighting. I really don't mind it, as I don't go there for the pictures, but i understand why people feel it ruins the shots.

I don't own photoshop. Might have to finally invest in that to work on pics. The heck with removing the crane, I need to use it to make me look more handsome!
