Day Four, Sunday December 17th
Today we were scheduled to leave on a 1:15 flight but, hearing that thereâÂÂs more weather back home, our first job today is to check with the airline! An early morning call says that, as of now, the flight is on time so we begin getting ready for our next adventure â 8:35 PS at TonyâÂÂs! One glitch this morning is that while I was drying my hair, the hairdryer started sparking on me and then a loud bang and poof of smoke! Mac called down to the front desk who were very apologetic and said they would send maintenance right up. I was just thankful that it didnâÂÂt happen to a child! We continued getting ready and decided to leave when maintenance didnâÂÂt show â after all we had a PS!
Caught a bus right away to MK â we really had no problems with buses at any point on this trip so thatâÂÂs a big plus. For the first time I was at the gate for the opening countdown which was very cool. And speaking of cool, the weather had changed dramatically so even though I thought ahead enough to wear jeans, the t-shirt wasnâÂÂt going to cut it! We set right out for the Main Street shops to get a souvenir (read: sweatshirt) and then went to TonyâÂÂs. I love it here and have made this my last day tradition. The cinnamon bun is great and I think the prices are reasonable for WDW at least. I had the Lady & Tramp waffle and Mac had the French toast â both of which were excellent. After finishing, we headed off to do the rides that we couldnâÂÂt do at MVMCP. We timed it perfectly and did Peter Pan, Pooh, Small World and Haunted Mansion in 45 minutes and were on the bus back to YC by 10:00am.
When we returned to the room, we noticed a brand new hair dryer on the wall (they donâÂÂt waste time here). Packed up and headed down to meet TTC. Had a pleasant surprise in that our driver wasnâÂÂt Mike â as he had said it would be. I didnâÂÂt catch the name of our driver and her didnâÂÂt say anything the whole trip but at least he didnâÂÂt slam Disney! We checked in and left about a half hour late and had a very very very scary flight back home (high winds, storms) but at least we made it.
All said and done, we really enjoyed our first glimpse of the world at the holidays and no doubt will be returning for them at some point.
We also liked the YC and love the proximity to Epcot. If I had to choose though, I would stay at BW again next time - only because I really like having everything right there.
Thanks to all who helped with planning and any who actually read these reports! It was great reliving the trip again!
I can't wait to start planning for another!
