Hello everyone. I'm Darthvader92. I'm starting this forum so that you all can know what's going on in Disneyland, when you're not there. I will be posting updates ever Wednesday. Here's the first update.............

I told you I would be back. Anyway let's get to Disney's California Adventure. The Hollywood pictures backlot is improving. Work on Monster's Inc. has reported to be moving very quickly. Soft openings will be starting very soon. If you notice, the area around Monster's Inc. is NOT part of the Hollywood pictures backlot. It is called the Hollywood Studios. Interesting. Muppet Vision's sign has been taken down and replaced with a new one. The animation building is getting a new look for the outside. Wait times at California Adventure are starting to decrease except for California Screamin which has come back from its long refurb has been getting 30-60min waits. Soarin not too bad at around 20-30min. Now to Disneyland. Disneyland is another different story. Their wait times however are extremely SHORT!!!!!!! Space Mtn. at around 3pm was 5MIN!!!!!!! Others were not terribly that bad. That's the end of my update. Hope you all will tune in every wednesday for the next report. Bye for now

shoot, and I've been sitting next to Ariel's grootto all this time, and there it is out in Calif. I knew I had to get out there. Looks like I would have to make a second trip in 2007. Of course, the Rose Bowl will have the nat'l Championship in 8, or is it 9?

Thanks for the info

Short update.

Monster's Inc is still under construction for a soon to be soft opening. Before the Parade of Dreams steps off, the grand marshalls march out.

told you it was short. Next update will be 11/16.

What are the chances for a soft opening of Monsters Inc. by the end of the year?

I hadn't heard that this is the last year for Haunted Mansion Holiday. Wow...really?

When is this supposed to open? If it's soon, ie early next year, then your chances are probably good for a soft opening when you are there on the 26th of Dec. :)

Rikersmom and I have been talking about going to DL in the spring (which is why I have a thread going about timeshares). Are you scheduled to come down here to visit? If so, you better let me know soon when it is before I make a ressie for DL while you are here at WDW, 1000th happy haunt!

Sorry this update is late. I've been feeling a little under the weather. So. Well this update is the big one. Christmas. This is the main topic in Disneyland. The NEW Golden tree is up. It's a christmas tree with golden mickey ornamnets. Small World holiday has opened and is a big hit. Small World Holiday is only getting heavy crowds on weekends so far. Many attractions are getting wreaths and decorations up as well. DCA's entrance letters are colored in the color of Candy Canes. Santa's Reindeer Roundup with REAL REINDEER is now open. And Santa is now visiting the little girls and boys visiting Disneyland.

Refurbishments:
NONE

To answer your question about Haunted Mansion Holiday. They said they same thing last year (that it would be the last year it was open) and it was here this year but there is some sort of issue with Disney not owning any rights to Corpse Bride and Nightmare before Christmas was only supposed to be part of Disney for a few years. It really will depend on Tim Burton I believe and how much money the park is willing to fork over. It is extremely popular so it would be in there benefit to keep it in my opinion.

Hey Darth -
Any talk about Mickey's Phillharmagic replacing Honey, I Shrunk the Audience in Tomorrowland. That show is getting tired, and Mickey's Phillharmagic is such an awesome production, I think it would be a slam dunk to bring it to DL. Have you heard anything.

I was there all day yesterday. It was crowded for being a Monday, but I think it's because of the Thanksgiving holiday week.

Yes, the Golden Christmas tree is spectacular. There is a special tree lighting at 5pm right before the Holiday Chrismas Parade at 5:15pm.

Don't miss out on the parades if you enjoy watching them. It get's you in the Christmas mood.

I was talking to someone from Canada yesterday and they missed out on the fireworks show since the last 3 days they were there because Disneyland cancelled the show due to winds. Disneyland even cancelled the show last night.

I also had to see the Reindeer roundup. It's especially marketed to little ones with the mom and dads. You can cookie decorate, take a picture with santa, buy ornaments, or do a coloring craft. They have live country music sing along and dancing with the characters if you like. I thought it was cute.

Over at Calif Adven. They have their park all decked out in golden ornaments as well. The only thing that I saw happening there was picture taking with Santa in his beach wear with different characters surrounding him.

I suggest if you go there this week, get there early and get a fast pass for Space Mountain. The wait was 100 minutes.

And have a great time :earsgirl:
