The disney survival bag swap... on hold

I'm back in Florida, but only a visiting ghost at the moment. The bag is at POR, and is going to be passed to toesmom.... Then I will have it from the 11-14. My vacation will finally end next week. So I'll do all confirming and such with dates once I get things in order again on my end.

I am thinking a pirate outfit this time? Any suggestions on what custom clothing you would like to see in the bag????

I think after the pirate outfit another good one would be Minnie Mouse!

Hey, Sandra! The last I heard I was getting the bag from toesmom at my resort. Your post above looks like the plan has changed and I'll get to meet you (as per original plan).

Would any of the following baby and cleaning stuff be appropriate for the survival bag? I'm sure we'll have extras and I'd like to donate.

Diapers

Pull-Ups

Baby Wipes (this would be an opened container)

Baby Food in Jars (unopened with 2010 exp date)

Sample unopened packets of lotion, diaper rash creme, baby wash, etc

Clorox Wipes (opened container)

Paper Towels (opened)


These items might be considered too specific (ie diapers, baby food) and others would be already opened (ie wipes, paper towels). However, I can see how they could be useful to a family that needed them.

Let me know your thoughts. If people think it's ok, then I'll plan on leaving them. If not, they'll probably just be trashed, depending on how many souvenirs we purchase!

I was thinking toesmom was leaving on the 14th, till I checked the dates, and they're leaving on the 11th. I'd rather not have it sit in LS for 3 days if I'm going to be here. Plus I have to do a pick up for parker's moma with her stroller swap on the 14th. I just need to get reorganized. Part of my problem right now, is I sent the file to my aunts computer, made changes, but never emailed it back to myself. So now I need to reread all the posts and PM's to get the file on my computer caught up again.

There were three or four swim diapers in the bag when we had it a few weeks ago...they're probably still in there if you want to pack one less thing.

There was some one that asked to be a back up, I just need to find thier PM/Post to contact them to see if they want to step in.

So for right now, Marshay is getting the bag tomorrow, and everything should be set to pass it to coastiewife. I'll then have to hold it from the 27th till the 2nd if back up works out. If not, I'll hold it till sarahandpaul get in on the 6th.

Sandra -- THANKS so much for the use of the survival bags! MY DD4 absolutely loved all the toys and was sad this morning when she didn't have the step stool to use to get to the sink! She also adored the Tinkerbell outfit and wore it to Magic Kingom. I forget who made it but it was great. The only problem was that the drawstring had pulled out so we just used safety pins.

Coastiemom -- you'll want to bring batteries for the light-up toys. Not all of them are working.

The laundry supplies, softsoap and little Lysol spray were awesome to use. Thanks guys!

I added Clorox Wipes, Baby Wipes, scotch tape, some more soaps, a few snacks we had leftover.

One of the dishwashing soaps had opened up and got soap over everything in the shoebox. I rinsed all the items and tried to put them all in ziploc bags. I'd suggest that all "soap/liquids/gels/lotions" be put in ziploc bags, if possible.

For anyone looking for suggestions of what to add to the bag in the future:

- Ziploc bags in all shapes and sizes
- a small flashlight
- batteries
- more hand soap (my DD4 couldn't use the soap provided by Disney since it kept slipping out of her hands)
- Lysol spray (I couldn't bring it on the plane but perhaps someone who is driving or going to the store could donate this)

This bag is a truly wonderful idea and I can't wait to use it again in July 2010!

Hey, MP, you sure can use the bag for the Holidays. No one has claimed it yet. And it'll save a little bit of room in my living room for more Christmas presents, or a bigger tree. Just make a few more posts, then you can send and recieve PMs.
