I am happy!...BUT at the same time...I'm sad. I haven't worked for 3 yrs. I have been a stay at home Mom. I am going to miss my kids. I will be working on the weekends and through out the Holidays. This is just a part-time seasonal. I guess I could keep that job until something else better comes up. I will not get any benefits such as Health Ins or Dental..stuff like that, only Disney benefits. I am a young widowed Mother of 2.

Anyone working at the Disney Store? How do you like it? Thanks.

Congrats on the job! You never know, it could turn into full time. In '97 I took at temp job that was only supposed to last 2 or 3 months. They hired me and I was there nearly 5 years!

I hope you have a wonderful time at your new job! Since it is such a fun environment maybe you won't miss your kids too much.

Congrats! Going back to work may be tough, but I bet you'll be fine. Have fun!
I just applied at the Disney Store myself, I'm still waiting to hear. I think it would be a great part-time job so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Congratulations, and welcome to the Disney family.

Best wishes.

Congratulations!
I started out at seasonal help and ended up working my way up to Manager! I also stayed with the company for 5 years . So, hang in there, who knows what will happen after the holidays? The main thing is to enjoy it, I loved working at TDS the holidays were definitely my favorite time of year there.

Have a blast!

Welcome to TDS. It is hectic during the holidays, but it is worth every minute. I, too, started out as a casual hire. That was in 1997. My 6th Anniversary is this November and I'm still loving it. Stick with it and you can work your way up to benfits.

I loved working at TDS! It and WDW are the only 2 jobs that I worked (or probably will ever work) for the job rather than the money. I know it has changed a lot since I was there in '97-'98, but I bet you will love it. :)

Just wanted to say hello again, Telly, and congratulations. Hope you are doing well.

And don't forget to email Doc for CM board access here on the DIS.

I know you probably have some mixed emotions right now. Happy that you have the job and sad about missing your children. I would be the same way.

Don't worry. Everything will work out.

I notice you have a trip planned for Dec. Will they still let you go?

Keep us posted.

:D

:Pinkbounc Hi Telly! I'm so happy for you!!! I know you'll miss your kids but you'll do fine & it will do you some good to have a little time away.

Glad to see you've moved back into the area. Whether you will be working for Somerset or Oakland (or Lakeside), I'm sure I'll be seeing you around! I like to hit all the local Disney Stores!!

I think of you often!

((((((hugs))))))))

I go to the Somerset mall occasionally..........is that the one you'll be at?

Good to see you on the CB again! Hope you are doing well, and that your children are also. Have fun being a "Cast member"!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also a little jelous though. I worked at the DS about two years ago and due to some personal family situations was forced to quit. It was the happiest time of my life just being a part of all the magic. My family told me I would lose a part of that "MAGICAL" feeling just being there and having to work but I didn't. It just helped to add to it. I mean you are constantly surrounded by Disney nuts.

I hope you have as much fun as I did and hang in there, most of the time if your a good worker stores are willing to keep you on.

Thanks for your encouragements and warm wishes. I will be working at the Somerset Mall. I am a little bit nervous. I just hope I don't get too emotional there, especially when I hear some disney love songs. I hope it won't remind me too much of my husband who passed away at WDW-ASMo.

I just hope that thing will go well...I hope that they will like me enough to keep me after the season is over. The only thing is that they only hire part-timers. What I really need is a full-time that would give me medical benefits. Well..we will see what happens.

My training will only be for 4 hrs in 2 weeks. Only 4 hours of training...wow..

I just adjusted my signature, there is no days off during the Holidays. Soooo...NO WL for Xmas! I'll just wait till summer and stay at the Poly! :)

Thanks guys!!
