Are you DVC members for Vero Beach, or did you rent points from someone.
What DIS members did you meet over at Vero Beach? I remember you said hi to Tammy and the DIS name was Scooootish or something. Does he write those great trip reports?
And is Vero Beach on the Atlantic Side or Gulf Side?
We are DVC members and we love it! We own 170 points at VWL, but since we have been doing more then 1 trip a year we are running shy on points. (we are in a constant state of borrowing.

) We figured the deal at PORS was too good to pass up. However we love VB in may only 10 points a night during the week for a ocean view in room (and it was a GREAT view). Our 1st trip there (May 2004) we booked about 5 weeks in advance. This time we booked about 9 weeks in advance and had no problem getting a room. It is a small resort, but a unsong gem of DVC!

You don't ned to own at resort to stay there. The only benifit owning at resort is you can book there 11 months out, all others you can only book 7 months out. If there is room you can stay at any resort. So far we havne't had any problems staying at other resorts.
Tammy is Scoooth, just her screen name. She was the only other Dis member we ran into, but many DVC members. I haven't read a trip report from her, but we have been in email contact since she was home. It was great to meet a friend down there. VB is very friendly, rather camp like feel to it. You see the same people all over and there are many activites for kids. Really a few nights isn't enough for me. It was more fun and relaxing last time when we were there for 5 nights and that was great. Since we have AP we wante to do more WDW this trip. (I have an old trip report on file for that one somewhere, keep in mind I was 27 weeks pregnant at the time!)
VB is on the Atlantic side, south of Cape Canaveral. It is about 2 hours from WDW. It is a fun area, but there isn't too much around there besides orange trees. There are a some nice resturants and a mall along with a nice water front area. It really is a good escape in a Disney Quality resort, but with out the presure to go go go all time. (no crowds either.) We love it!
Thanks Clemstiger, she is feeling much better. You can't see it at all any more, but I can't belive that was normal!
