My DW, DD and I will be boarding in New York this Sunday! Will be strange taking a Disney ship from a port other than Cape Canaveral. Also, in starting to feel there will be few kids on this cruise as it's during the school year and going to Canada.

On the Transatlantic that came in this morning we were told that there were only 1700 guests onboard and out of that amount only 180 kids.

We got off the Magic this morning - great cruise.
We were glad that we didn't have much luggage. We'd planned on getting a cab to Penn Station to catch the Amtrak train, but the queue for taxis just kept getting longer and no taxis were stopping to pick up passengers. We wound up schleping our luggage from Pier 88 near 12th and 47th over to the station, during morning rush hour.

Many schools have Jewish holidays off from school around NYC so there may be more than you think. (Leaving Sun, too. He is off Mon and Tues so is only missing 3 days). Another 3 day week the following week.

Reading this makes me soooooo glad I did the express walkoff from the ship with my luggage. I left the ship just before 7:30. No queue for customs. Walked across the street and got right into a taxi. I was at NYP by 8am.

Yup I think both cruises for the next two sailings will be full of kids!!!

Yes sort of. She finally started moving at 5:30 so I watched her come out and turn around but then I had to leave work and go home so didn't see her pass the freedom tower. Next departure I'm watching from home do I can see the whole thing!! I thought it would leave earlier. We are on the 7 day Bahamas on Oct 22. It's going to be dark if we leave at 5:30 I think!
