The Disney Chiques Clique meeting held here

Becca, I know how disconnected you can feel without the internet. Glad to have you back!!

As for cutting the connection, my husband cuts the dog's electronic collar wire connection almost every time he spin trims. Then he has to rewire it again. Tundra (my Norwegian elkhound) is so laid back and knows she has it so good around here that she never tests her shock coller to try and escape (smart dog ;) )

Anyhow, have a good day.

Good to have you back. Our power went out a couple of times over the weekend, and I was just bouncing off the walls.

Hello Fellow Disney Chiques:wave:

Wow! I went away for a long weekend at Universal Orlando and I came back to this HUGE thread. I had to read over ten pages of posts just to catch up. I guess it's really caught on.

We had a wonderful time at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We attended both the Shrek2 Annual Passholder event and the Revenge of the Mummy Annual Passholder event and got to meet a bunch of fellow DIS'ers at the Mummy mini-meet.

We loved Shrek2. Did anyone else see it over the weekend? If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to stay all the way through the credits or you'll miss a very cute surprise ending. The only funny thing about the AP breakfast at USF was that they didn't serve us waffles. Seems like a natural, no:confused: Instead, we had FRENCH TOAST! among other breakfast items. It was lots of fun, no matter what.

The Revenge of the Mummy attraction is unbelievably awesome! We rode several times.

Well, just wanted to check in here. Glad to see how great this group is getting to be.

I'm jealous, Lisa. Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Good for you. Did you stay on-site?

I've heard by word of mouth that Shrek2 is a great movie - we'll have to go see it soon!

Is Revenge of the Mummy a "real" ride (like Spiderman, where you ride in a car) or is it a show like T2? We're going to Universal Studios Hollywood in December; it will be up and running there by that time!

You're right about this thread. It's taken on a life of its own, and that's a great thing. There are LOTS of nice people to chat with here. What I like best is that people are INCLUSIVE rather than exclusive!!

We saw Shrek 2 on opening day. We loved it. We laughed and laughed. I think it was much better than the first one to me

Welcome back Lisa.
Glad to see you has a great time!
I'll probably wait a little bit to see Shrek2, but I'm really curious about the Revenge of the Mummy attraction.
I absolutely loved the Mummy movies (I find Arnold Vosloo(the Mummy man)extremely sexy).
Probably just me though. What was the ride like?

I'm really happy I found this thread,too!
Everyone is so nice and personable, and we don't have to feel like we're cutting in on all the old threads that are really established and not really looking for more people!

Anyway, Hope you all have a great night!!

Hi Everyone. It's been quite a day! I woke up with a splitting headache. I went to the nurse at work (yes we have our own nurse). She took my blood pressure and it was sky high. She had me lay down for a little bit and took it again, it was still high. I layed down from about 8:30 until 10. My headache finally went away around 2.

My poor friend still hasn't passed that kidney stone. Does it usually take this long (since Sat am)?

Oh, here's some news - my DS (12) has a sports banquet/dance tomorrow evening. I'm so excited for him but he insists that he won't dance. He's the typical boy "I'm not asking anyone to dance" :scared: So I asked him what he would do if one of the girls asked him. He said he wouldn't dance with them. I tried explaining that it might hurt their feelings. Hmm, I wonder what will really happen. I'll have to ask his buddies, they always tell.

:teeth:

Sandy,

We didn't stay on site this time, although we have done so several times in the past. This time we were pinching pennies;) It's great when you stay on site at UO though. Front of the line access is just the best perk imaginable.

As to Revenge of the Mummy: Real? Is it ever!! I don't want to give too much away (unless you want me to..I could go on and on!) but suffice to say it is an indoor roller coaster with other slow moving sections. The special effects are the best I've ever seen. The coaster section has no loops or inversions. I know lots of people like to know that in advance.

The queue is very cool also. There are several interactive things in the queue, which makes the wait bearable. The CM's at the ride are great and are really into their "roles". All in all, it is just an awesome experience.

Morning all! Not really sure what to make of the weather outside..it's a bit cooler (not as humid either) than yesterday, but the sky looks a little funny. Another busy day here, youngest DD has Dance and Gymnastics today. The recital is next weekend! Getting close! I'm totally stressing about next week. My plate is overflowing! Ever have weeks like that when it seems like everything happens at the same time? That's next week!

I stopped by the Disney Store yesterday and ended up buying a few things. The beach towels are now $7.99, and the kids Tshirts are $5.99 (if you buy 2 or more).. I've got to stay away from there! LOL Also ordered the black 3 piece Mickey Luggage online. Excited about that!

So what's everyone up to today?

Today is going to be a lazy day here. It's cooler here also. Maybe I'll plant some flowers, and do some laundry. Or maybe I'll stay at the computer, or sit in front of the tv. I need a day like today. Last week was just busy, busy so time for a break.

Today's a "work" day; I'm on my computer at home. Have to put in 9 hours M-Th so I can leave early Friday. Our daughter has a soccer tournament in Albuquerque this weekend.

Lisa - thanks for the description about "The Mummy". It sounds like so much fun. I can hardly wait to ride it!!

Annette - sorry about your headache and your high blood pressure. I hope you're feeling better today. I have to laugh about your son. Mine's 14, and he likes a girl in his class - but to get ANY relevant information out of him is like pulling teeth. His 8th grade graduation dance is a week from Thursday. We'll have to compare notes.

HollyJoy - I can relate to being stressed because of all the events this time of year. A break would certainly be nice!!

I hope everyone is having a good day. It's cloudy and cooler here in Colorado. I hope it rains; we could certainly use the moisture.

Sandy..

you had me singing! LOL You mentioned the city of "Albuquerque ".. my youngest daughter learned a song in preschool (back at Thanksgiving) called, "Albuquerque is a Turkey"...
Albuquerque, he's my turkey,
And he's feathered and he's fine
And he wobbles and he gobbles
And he's absolutely mine.
He's the best pet you could ever get
Better than a dog or cat
Albuquerque, he's my turkey
And I'm awfully glad of that.

no doubt I'll have that song in my head all day long! LOL

Holly, the song is adorable. Has me chuckling, as I sit here working on the computer in my bathrobe! ::yes::

Now I'll be thinking of Albuquerque and turkeys too!!

Good Morning everyone.

Today is cleaning day, because we have a very busy day tomorrow. DS has a DR's appt. first thing in the morning and then I have 3 deliveries starting at 3pm and running until 8pm.

DH had an interview for a new job yesterday with Hertz. I really hope he gets it. It will be nice to never have to worry about a rental car again.

Becca

Today is my 2nd wedding anniversary and my yearly check up with my OBGYN. I hate those appointments... They are so embarrassing! :o I'm sure some of you can relate.

Happy Anniversary:cake:

Not much going on here. I need to buy one of those vaccum/floor cleaners. I have wood floors in the kitchen/nook and entry. I really need to clean them. Then I'm off to find Lord of the rings. I haven't seen this one yet. Oh well. I'm going to make a great dinner for DH and I so that we can watch the movie in style.

Good morning, Chiques!!

Not a very busy day here, thank goodness. Working from home today. Oldest DD11 went to Wild Adventures with 4-H, DD6 home with me today (not sure how much work will get done :p ). Later on, we're going to see Shrek2 again because DD6 fell asleep the first time. Also getting ready for a Jimmy Buffet concert in Atlanta tomorrow night :teeth: . Very excited abou that, first one.

Becca, good luck to your DH on the new job!!

JKanownik, Happy Anniversary to you :Pinkbounc and I fully understand about the appt. Hate them, too!!

Hope everyone has a great day,

Heather :wave2:

Good Morning All!

Lisa - your trip report is making me want to go to Universal while in FL. It has been too long since my last visit. However, there won't be time this trip. Guess I'll just have to plan another one soon!

Sandy - Do you "work" at home full-time? I know that when I've had research to do and papers to write, at times it was difficult to stay focused, and to NOT "plaY on the net" more than I should!

hockeymom - I love boys! I wonder what your son will do if the "right" girl asks him to dance?;) That is such a fun age. He'll be a teenager soon. I won't even go into that! lol

Holly - I want the tune that accompanies the words to the Albuquerque turkey song, then I can hear it in my head all day!
I'm having a hard time staying out of the Disney store too. I got an email from the Disney store online, and was real tempted to not buy myself a Disney shirt and shorts combo. Nothing like a trip to Disney to make you wear things you ordinarily wouldn't!

Colleen - Happy Anniversary!

DH is in the Keys for the next few days (I'm trying not to be jealous), so I can eat ice cream for dinner if I want!
:teeth:

Have a good day!
