The Disney Adventures of Scooter Mom-Dining Report-9/7-9/14 (complete)

Boo! I hate the last day. That salad does look good and I can't make my mind up about those Mac and Cheese hotdogs...they look strangely good but a train wreck all at the same time.

Hope the ankle is healing well!

Jill in CO

The last day is always so depressing.

The salad WAS very good. I could so go for one of those right now.

DS seemed to really like that hot dog. I am not sure if it is my thing, though. That is not something I would be interested in eating.

OK - this is weird. I could have sworn I commented on your TR last week and that your TR was already done. Am I hallucinating or what? :confused3

Then I saw your ticker and see that you are leaving in 5 days. That is SO awesome! I am very excited that you are out of your cast and you get a trip to Disney world over Thanksgiving. Now that's what I call a happy Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I thought I commented too???

How exciting that you will be going back for Thanksgiving - this wee!! Have a ton of fun and we definitely want to hear all about it!! :)

I really enjoyed your dining reviews!

so funny, you love those homemade chips, and nebo and I despise them I know, a pretty strogn word, but we really don't like them.:rotfl: we don't like the whole grain( or multi grain ) buns either.. and nebo didn'l like the way they took away the hot dog bun and gave you something like a piece of bread sliced in half.!

but a lor of your meals looked realy good! like the chicken and ribs at fairfax.. I have had the shrimp at CHH and that is a really good deal! out of pocket, 2 could split is easily.

we will be at AOA next spring, and I am looking formwas to trying one of the meals with the naan bread

the beef lo mein at yak and yeti looks scrumptious!!! I an never talk nebo into anything other than his beloved Flame Tree! have you ever tried the shrimp lo mein at the pop century food court// it's great!!!!

thanks for taking the tiem to do this!

Hey Mary Ellen !! I had a TR on the trip report boards, so I am sure that is the one you are thinking about. I did finish it and I will start another when we get back from this upcoming trip.

We leave super early Wednesday morning. DH wants to leave around 3 AM. He likes to drive at night when there is no traffic.

I am so glad to be out of that cast. I am now relegated to the walking boot for a couple more weeks. I can walk short distances now and that helps immensely. There is still a lot of pain and swelling and some painful physical therapy, but I am slowly getting there. It has been almost 4 months since my injury. It has been just horrible. Nothing like a trip to Disney to cheer me up, right ?? Scooter Mom rides again !!

I thought I commented too???

Hey Brenda !! I think you commented on my TR, so neither of you are going nuts. :crazy2:

I will definitely be reporting back on the trip and the food !! We have some good ADR's this trip that I am excited to experience.

Hey Smidgy !!

Yes, I have heard mixed reviews on the homemade chips. I like things salty and crunchy like that. I think people would like them better if they were not served cold.

I don't mind the multi-grain buns when they are fresh, but when they let them get stale, they are just not edible. I actually like the buns at Casey's slit down the middle like that. I think the holds up better than the regular bun when you add a bunch of toppings. I can see why he wouldn't like it though.

If you like the Flame Tree ribs, you would like the ribs at Fairfax. I think they are pretty similar. I agree that the shrimp at CHH is always a winner and we almost always split it since it is plenty of food for two people.

You need to let me know your dates for your Spring trip. I would so love a dismeet with you and Nebo. We are going the week of Easter, though and I imagine you two would prefer to avoid the crowds.

I really enjoyed my meal at Yak and Yeti CS and so did DH. I highly recommend it if you can talk nebo into it. Portions are HUGE, so I suggest you share. I think this is a really good value if you do decided to get something and share it. Plenty for two or maybe three people. I haven't tried the lo mien at Pop, but I have always enjoyed the food there. Will have to try it next time we are over that way.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and comment !!

Loved your report. We are going over Thanksgiving too, staying at Riverside Royal rooms. If you set up a DiS meet, let us know, I would love to met some of people we have been reading over at the Nov trip thread. Have a great trip. My stepmom is renting a scooter since she is having hip replacement in Dec. How much of a hassle was it loading into car or did you only take Disney transport? Also what do you do in lines? go through regular line with scooter?

some things nebo and I can't split.. cause he's so FUSSY!!!! I don't think he would like the beef lo mein.. too many veggies.

we won't be in WDW around easter, sorry.. 2 reasons: we don't have kids, so we would be silly to go during spring break. 2nd: I work every easter (every holiday, actually). such is the life of a waitress. sigh.

Hey, thanks for reading !! I have a couple of dissers that I know are going to be there, but we are just going to text/call each other and try for a quick meet. Nothing big scheduled. I will be on a scooter again this trip since I still can't walk very well. I will have a DIS sign on the front of my scooter. Big Lime Green Mickey Head. So if you see me, please say hello !!

DH seemed to have no trouble loading it into our car. We have a Toyota Rav4 so it went into the back very well. You do have to take it apart and DH was able to figure it out. Make sure you ask the people you are renting from how to do it. We took the bus a couple of times as well. DH prefers to drive because he doesn't like waiting. But either way was fine for me.

As far as rides, some lines have a handicap entrance and others don't. So you may have wait like everyone else. And for the safari at AK, you have to wait longer it seems.

I hope you have a great trip !!

He seems so high maintenance ....:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Just kidding !!

I hear ya. If I didn't have kids in school, I wouldn't go during Spring Break either. Waaayyy too crowded. We get around it though.

I have done the waitress thing myself and I know how that is.
