THE DISBOUTIQUERS IN 3-D: A Pictorial Trip Report of a Dismeet

Great report so far. Gald you have liked your stay at Saratoga so far. Keep it coming.

Yipee!:cool1: It's like I was there...okay I'm pretending too! :lmao: It sounds great so far...sorry for the sickies!

I too long to walk down Main Street...family free to look at sutff...not in full stride dragging kids trying to keep up with DH!

Awww sorry to hear you were not feeling so well at this point. Hopefully you felt better after your nap.

(Now...I must say other than being sick, I don't see how a nap could be more enticing than touring the MK...hahahahahahaha):goodvibes

I thought I would really enjoy being away from the kids....but alas....that only lasted a few hours and then I spent the rest of the trip missing them  But it is fun for a little while to shop/browse at will and later, tour World Showcase, without hearing "mom" once!!!!

I know what you mean...it was a battle between enjoying the parks, enjoying the nice resort and keeping myself and my friend running between the two!!!! :yay:

OH NO!! The suspense is going to kill me!!! Did you make it to the Dismeet!!??!!!
(I'm pretending I haven't already seen pictures and heard from both my Mom and Heather how wondeful you were, play along! ;) )

Did you take any pictures of all the cheerleaders?

Alice has Alice looking shoes! And, is she wearing a fanny pack???

I heard you were missing your babies something awful!!

Yet another fun filled day!! I'm loving your report!

And, I didn't know you were a physics teacher!! That's one of Corey's best classes.

Loving your trip report!!!!!!!! You guys look like you were having such a great time!

You might want to try www.minimus.biz next time you travel with check ons. They have all sorts of travel size items. I order my toiletries from them and a few snacks too-they have a huge selection of individual bowls of cereal. They have free shipping for orders over $20. They are on the west coast so I order 2 weeks before my trip and the box usually arrives a day or 2 before me.

Hmmmmm....double post....and either my computer is really slow right now or its the board....is anyone else having trouble???`
I was having lots of trouble last night too and ended up giving up.

Has anyone noticed how small the rental strollers are now? First they doubled the price. Now they are about 1/2 the size.

Most importantly...here are Alice's shoes!!!!!!!:rotfl:

IMGP7698.jpg

:lovestruc her shoes! They are just as cute as I remember!

Goodness I hope you feel better so children aren't parading around MK shouting "Cathy!" later on. ;)

Haven't rented in quite a while so I have not noticed how small they are, you used to be able to fit two small children in one, no way now!

So, time was up for napping and it was time to get ready for the evening. But not before a dip in the hot tub. You see rather than wait for a bus to MK and a monorail to the Poly, we opted for a taxi ride. Alice called ahead and had it all arranged. This allowed us an extra half hour. We soaked for a bit and then got ready for dinner. Our taxi was waiting and we were whisked away to the Poly.

We had 5 pm ADR at Ohana’s. This resort never disappoints me. No matter what the real world is like, time is suspended when you walk in here. The atmosphere is enticing. I love the sound of the falls. It’s just a wonderful restorative place to come to. The first Christmas after my dad died, my mom and I came here. It helped to heal us then and it would do it again today if need be. KWIM?

We had a few minutes before we had to check in so we looked through the pretty shops. I say look because neither of us had bought anything yet. My theory was that I was trying to dull myself to all things Disney. The first time in any of these stores would have me buying 100’s of things if I could. I was hoping that by browsing I would slowly become immune and be able narrow down what it was that I was going to buy. Plus, I am reading a trip report by a wonderful mom and daughter (Hi Memom and Jill). They take lots of pics in all of the stores. That works too. Rather than buy the stuff, take a pic and enjoy it. Seriously.

We checked in and received a “light-up pager devise”. We found some comfy seats and sat down…for about 3 minutes….before the pager went off. We were guided through the restaurant to a lovely table near the back window. The sun was still pretty bright.

It seemed early for dinner. I must confess that I was still full from lunch. But I wanted to enjoy our dinner so I ate bits of everything. We skipped the salad. Alice said people get sick on vacation from salads. I was trying to avoid that state and agreed to pass on it. Dinner was absolutely yummy. They had a singer take the kids around the restaurant. What fun for the kids…to be able to get up and walk around during dinner!!!

IMGP7715.jpg

Our waiter was so kind. It actually seemed like we had two or three. I am serious. Every two seconds they were there bringing us food or asking us if we needed anything. We kept saying we loved everything but our plates were not emptying. I don’t think our waiter believed us. Truly it was yummy…but I was beginning to suffer from food overload. Plus I was still feeling sea sick. I ignored that. Really I did. We skipped dessert. Our waiter was sure we hated our meal. I think what it was was that our husbands weren’t there to finish off everything. Hahahahaha. So we chatted with our nice server for a while and thanked him over and again. We got ready to return to MK and I was feeling a bit better. Yaaaaa!

I am loving how fast you are getting this done. I might just need to go and upload some pictures into photobucket and start mine.

Oh what a great idea...I am thinking for our next trip to order some stuff and have it delivered to our house we are renting. I have to price it out. I did go to the store once and I am trying to remember if it was cheaper. Alice was with me then too so I will have to ask her if she remembers.
I didn't know the strollers were smaller. Of course that was a pretty huge Mickey Mouse in there. Next time we go I will have to decide what to do about the strollers. My girls will be 6 and 4/almost 5. I am planning on spending 4 hours a day in the park...thats a LOT of walking. I would have to get them in tip top shape to be able to do it without a stroller. Problem is the double strollers cost an arm and a leg to rent.....more decisions. :headache:

Its so funny about that, cause I entered the flag pole area saying...."Steph....Steph....Steph...." and then I saw you! :thumbsup2

Oh Yes!!! We would LOVE to see your pics and hear all about your trip!!! Go for it!!!! :thumbsup2

Disboutiquer Stephanie called just as we were finishing dinner. We had planned to meet to watch Spectro. I told her we were headed that way and I would call her once we got inside.

Dusk was approaching and the lights were beginning to come on. It reminded me of a summer’s evening at home….when you had a great fun place to go and the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. Did I mention how much I love Disney yet? I took some quick shots from the monorail. I noticed the electric light parade storage area. And I think I saw the corner of the building where they have all of the dance rehersals etc for parades and such. We swung around the big loop and arrived at the MK platform.

Sunset pics from the monorail...

OK people....it's the last day of the sale going on at Joann's...and its either go now or never....so I am bravely taking the two kids who aren't sick with me while DH sits home with the one who is still recovering from pneumonia....poor thing...she doesn't even complain when she is "sick as a dawg"...but I am happier about the situation. The doctor said she is on the mend today. :thumbsup2 Long story short...I am going to finish this day today...just later today!!!! :goodvibes

What great pictures! 'Ohana looks really interesting. I definitely want to check that out next time around!

I bought a MacLaren Volo single stroller for my youngest for our trip last May with just her & I. I knew she couldn't keep up with all the walking and staying at Pop I was afraid I'd be trying to carry her and my bag on those long walks to the bus stop at the end of the day when I was exhausted. I paid $75 for it online and we used it for our 2 week family trip in August so it was definitely cheaper than renting from Disney. It was really perfect for me because it is so light weight, has a shoulder strap for carrying, holds up to 55 pounds, the seat was big enough for DD, and the handles tall enough for me to easily push. I have no doubt that the Volo's seat is bigger than the new single strollers at WDW.

Good luck with your stroller decision.:wizard:

I actually got to go yesterday! I was in no state of mind to be shopping. My head is just spinning (still) but I had to drop off stuff for a consignment sale right near Joann's. I also had to pick up some pirate fabric so had no choice.

So, $150 later and LOTS of fabric we came out! Lin was not amused, but I was. He just always asks what is it all for. I even left the brown polka dot on the shelf. This nice lady in line gave us her 10% off coupon. I felt bad since she only had one, she said she was only spending $4 though and knew we would save much more!

Thank you super nice lady in line!

Can't wait to hear what you got!

Hey...Rootskate...I remember you from my last TR about 2 years ago!!! Hello again!!! :cheer2: Do you like meat? It would be awful if you are a vegetarian...hahahaha:rotfl: Everything was sooo yummy! So when are you returning to Disney?

I do that with my kids all the time! It works really well for us.

That is a great idea....there is supposed to be a stroller at the house we are renting but I have no idea what it is or if it is in good condition. I think there may even be a thread on the Dis for stroller shares. Has anyone ever tried that? It may only be for people who stay on property? Last time I went, Alice lent me her great double stroller. It was very lightweight and worked great. In any case I will probably end up with a stroller.

Well, I spent all weekend finishing up my planning of what outfits the girls were wearing. Then I figured out the yardage. I spent about $90 and gots lots of fabric too. Tom said I should start sewing now...its about 24 outfits and I am hoping to have a women on Etsy make three special outfits for the girls.
The lady at the register kept using coupons for me. I am sure without the sale it would have been close to $200. I still need to buy more stuff for the outfits...all 24 of them but I definately have started.

OK...I read really fast and I'm all caught up. Stacy was wrong...we are in this picture! See the two people sitting down with grey sweathshirts facing the turnstiles. Yup, that's me and Stacy!

Anyway, you got some GORGEOUS shots. What kind of camera are you sporting these days??? Weren't you complaining about your camera during the fireworks? Those are great pics!

I see Kristine and Stacy now! We were all so close all day long without even knowing it!

Sounds like a bunch of great fabric! I never have any idea how much I will need of what so I just get 2-3 yards.
