THE DISBOUTIQUERS IN 3-D: A Pictorial Trip Report of a Dismeet

I thought the buses were great from Pop Century. I think our longest wait was 10 minutes, too. We were worried that we would have to wait forever at Epcot after Illuminations, but there were 6 buses, all within 10 minutes! The same thing happened at MK after Wishes!

Hey, I recognize your hotel! Our bus driver took us by it on the way to DTD! Those pool areas look very nice!

When taking pictures of yourself, you must hold it up high, and tilt your chin slightly down to avoid double chinage. I know this from lots of practice since no one around here ever takes my picture!

I just love the CMs with the big hands waving in the mornings!

In my experience, everyone goes to the left on pirates! I know TGM says go left, but we always have a shorter line when we go right! This time we walked right on that way, when there was a fairly long line on the other side (although they may have just opened the right side or something).

How cool that you got your own boat on POTC!!!! That must have been so much fun! I agree it would be slightly creep if you had been totally alone.

Oh NO!!! Not the CHEERLEADERS!!!!

You're a PHYSICS teacher? :worship:

Hey!!! I saw this guy:
IMGP7654.jpg

He was roping off the "road" for the parade and giving people hilarious glares as they passed through his area. If anyone asked him a question he was as rude as possible! It was very entertaining!

We didn't get to do the riverboat this time, but it looks so pretty from your pictures! I haven't been on it since I was a kid.

Can't wait to read more. What a beautiful clear day. February is a beautiful time to visit, cool weather and clear skies. Sounds like you had a great time.

Love the pictures! Your day reminds me of our last day, we did as much as possible, runnning here and there. Unfortunately, we had more crowds than you.

I was hoping you would include a picture of Alice's shoes! I loved them and now I think I really need some. Would she object to sharing her shopping information?

I don't remember what Alice's shoes looked like? Now I must know!

I was looking at the pictures (before I read) trying to figure out why the park was so empty! I have never been to a rope drop, although we used to get to a park by around 9:30. This past trip we went in at noon since we ate breakfast, checked out of the country inn and suites and checked into Pop then unpacked before coming and Lin LOVED not getting up and leaving the room quickly, so we did that most mornings.

I really love the red capri's! I am making some for me next time for sure!

love it so far! I had a friend that went that same weekend, i kept telling her to get there at rope drop, they got there at 11 and complained it was crowded.:confused3 Im enjoying all of your pictures so far!
Hello Cherlynn! Thanks for joining in! Well apparently, when there is a Spectro night at MK, the crowds are thick...and you really can't sleep in if you are going there. I am not sure if the rest of the parks were less crowded?

Glad to hear the buses were running well everywhere. Again, I am used to the summer waits! So funny about going by the resort...it was really pretty but it was very spread out. They have an internal bus and when they open the treehouses they will run it around the whole place. Thanks for the self picture pointers....I have a double chin at all times. Seriously. I would consider surgery for it :rotfl2: But I will have to try your suggestion! The CM's seem so happy to see the herd of people arriving. I love their big hands. At night we truly were depending on them and their light sticks to help us out of MK one night. So funny about all the different line theories...go left or go right...who knows? I am a physical science teacher actually which means I teach basic physics and chemistry. I absolutely LOVE it!!!! :lovestruc I noticed that HM guy was really taking his job seriously. He kinda reminds me of my college roommates boyfriend...hahaha. I bet he was entertaining to watch! :rotfl2: I loved the riverboat this time! Didn't you go onto Tom Sawyer's Island...heck you should have considering your son's name! :rotfl: I am really looking forward to it. Did you ride Splash Mountain?

Can't wait to read more. What a beautiful clear day. February is a beautiful time to visit, cool weather and clear skies. Sounds like you had a great time.
We were really lucky to have missed the cold snap...it was just finishing as we arrived. Have you been in Feb? We did have a wonderful time!

Hi Cathy! Great start; can't wait to see more pictures!

Denise
Hi Denise! Love your name! Thanks for coming along! :cheer2:

Hahahaha Steph....how much fun is that?! Sorry about the crowds...was it closer to Pres Weekend? How did you notice Alice's shoes...they were really nice ones..I will ask her what kind...and see if I have a pic of them. I will let you know. :thumbsup2

Hmmmmm....double post....and either my computer is really slow right now or its the board....is anyone else having trouble???`

It was the Monday after the meet, we just ran around and rode as much as we could before we had to go home. It only really got crowded around 11am.

I did notice her shoes the first night: I commented to Alice on them. She said she got them especially for the trip because they were so comfortable. I remembered thinking they were so cute, but would they looks as cute on my long narrow feet? I should have asked her the brand right there because I have been thinking about them ever since!

Not that it's weird to obsess about shoes or anything...

I swear Kristine and I should be in one of those pics- the rope drop one where there is a group sitting down- we were *just* in between the front group and the back group! Seriously, we were soooo close to each other!

We went to Space Mountain. I missed it on the last trip since J wasn't tall enough. On the next trip C won't be tall enough and I will be alone, so no-go again. Had to get it in this time.

It is incredibly slow for me, I thought it was because I am on a brand new computer (as little sense as that makes).

Hello again....we were just heading by the castle and I had to capture its gorgeousness!

So we headed out of Liberty Square, across the hub, and into Tomorrowland and our future where we were to meet intergalactic heroes (stand-by time 10 minutes…more like 2 or 3). Can you believe Buzz Lightyear actually had us join him in battle? :confused3 But don’t worry, we ended up defeating the evil Emperor Zurg. I am not quite sure how I helped. My score was a measly 1500. Hahahaha…Alice had an impressive 6-digit figure. Hmmmmmmm, my laser must not have been working properly. We did pick up some Buzz FP here for later just in case I needed to better my score!

Obligatory photo of photo and us posing with the saluting space guy...what were those little guys called?

We still had some time before our lunch ADR, so we took a relaxing tour of Tomorrowland aboard the Transit Authority. I love this ride. So safe and mild! We noticed they were busy improving Tomorrowland….perhaps a new stage or something? And I took a few pics of sights along the way.

;) Hmmmmm, yes, never go to MK on a Monday...its always crowded. But at least you made it on some things right?

Darn I almost took your pic and I didn't even know it :rotfl: So how was Space Mountain...the closest I got was the Transit Authority....for whatever reason (cough*my age*cough) I can't ride roller coasters anymore :sad2:

Ohhh a new computer sounds like fun. I just set up the next installment and I clicked on "post" and it went to never never land. Gone forever...grrrrrr.:headache:

I LOVE your polka dotted capris!:love:You look really cute in that outfit! at the snow on the ground and you in Florida weather clothes!

You have some lovely pictures...especially the ones of the castle! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to reading more!

Oh, I'm loving reading your TR!!! I can pretend I was right there with you!!! It looks like you were having such fun!!! I love your happy giddy face when you are going in!!! I get that same face everytime!!!

Now I need to know what Alice's shoes looked like too!

I am loving all the pictures and your report so far. Makes me want to go to WDW so very badly! Georgia actually asked if we could go there with in two years. haha she says "It would be nice if we could go this year mommy, but I know it cost loves of Disney monies, so if its in the next two that would be ok too!" hahaha gotta love the kids!

I am with ya Teresa, I want to see the shoes of Alice as well! hehe

:) The tour books always suggest taking a picture of your child to capture the look....hey....what about us grown children? :cool2:
Oh the shoes....they were out of my price range...the store she went it to get them is top notch...I think they were like $100 on sale for $50 or 60. I gotta find out what kind they were.

Awwwwww my kids are doing the same thing...when are we going??? :confused3 However they were very nice to let me go by myself and not complain too much. :cutie:

OK are you still here? We just jumped off of the Transit Authority and....

We decided to head back to Main Street and browse a few stores until 11:30. At the hub, there was a beautiful black draft horse with Mickey blinders on patiently waiting for the show to end at the castle. He didn’t even flinch when the fireworks went off. I noticed his handlers stayed very close anyways because with horses, you just never know.

See...still standing still....

IMGP7686.jpg

Well, it was 11am and “they” were starting to arrive. However, we had already scratched off everything on our list. Yaaaa…. Tour Guide Mike…score 1 TGM - 0 “Them”. We toured the stores on the bakery side of Main Street. My husband’s idea of shopping is to march straight down the center of Main St at a brisk pace. Ummmm no. I had no children and no hubby to deter me. It was fun to browse. And there was a big party going on in the center of Main Street. Dancers and singers. It was so festive and fun!

Don't you want to live here?...

The yummy bakery...

IMGP7691.jpg

Around 11:20 am, we headed back up Main Street for our ADR at the Plaza Restaurant. I had never eaten here before. We were seated near the door by a pretty window. I was hungry again, the last time the entire trip. We both ordered the veggy sandwich and water with lemon. All I can say is it was soooo yummy! The roll was delish and our waitress was attentive. She even took our pic. We got a dessert on the dining plan so we had vanilla milkshakes to go. Yummy I tell you! If you have never eaten here I would definitely recommend it.

IMGP7693.jpg

Bellies full, we decided to grab FP for the Jungle Cruise for later. The window opened up at noon and it was just after that. I also called Piper at this point. Originally she and I were going to try to meet up but I was actually pretty tired at this point. Alice and I decided we would browse the shops a bit more and take a nap before coming back for dinner and MK. Piper was so sweet on the phone. She was headed back to her hotel and decided a nap sounded better than touring MK. In total agreement, we browsed our way back down the other side of Main Street. Alice and I got separated so we called each other and headed back to the resort.

IMGP7695.jpg

IMGP7696.jpg

Before our nap I tried to take some daytime pics of our room. Sorry for the things all over. We had trouble opening the sofa bed so I didn’t close it up in the morning. The studio is perfect for a small family. It definitely has more room than a regular room at say, Port Orleans. The bathroom door swings the other way and it just seems a lot roomier in each part. So we relaxed and napped while the MK continued to become more and more crowded.

I wasn’t actually feeling real well at this point. The best way to describe it is a lingering motion sickness kind of feeling. I think it was the multi-modes of transportation I had encountered in the last 24 hours. You see my real life is pretty much the same every day. I live close to work. I don’t go anywhere much. Yet in the preceeding hours I had taken a plane, monorail, bus, and ridden various attractions….it was either that or I was suddenly coming down with a stomach virus. Can you imagine? Hours before the Dismeet. Wouldn’t it just figure that I would be stuck sick in a hotel room? After all of the planning and money and time spent. Argggg. And it happens to people all the time. Disney waits for no one. So I did what I always do and pleaded to God for good health. And I soaked in the Disney air and atmosphere. I have to say I appreciated every breath and every moment on this trip. One thing I don’t do is take time for granted. You never know the future or how long you have, so I literally soaked up as much Disney as I could hold. Surely that would help hold back those awful virus bugs if that’s what it was.

Up Next....would I make it? :confused3
