The DIS VMK Boards-Please Read

It is with great sadness that we must announce that effective Monday, April 3, 2006; the VMK DIS boards will be shut down. With so many children on the board, It's become too difficult to maintain the privacy and safety of our posters and we can no longer be responsible for the liability of this forum.

You have all been great and I'm sure there are many other boards out there where you can discuss your love of VMK.

I'm really sorry everyone, I'm truly going to miss this board and the people here.

Hopefully, I will see you all in VMK.

This is horrible! I will truly miss my "daily" reading material and all of the friends I have made here. This board was instrumental in my "learning the ropes" in VMK. I hope this is just a horrible April Fool's Joke.....

i think this should be a VMK joke and if it is it is kind of mean to get everybodys hopes down i joined this board just recently and i just want to say i have made so many new friends and had so much fun and ppl here acctually do kind and fun activitys


i really hope this is just a april fools joke because other wise i will be really upeset.

i bet anybody on this board does not want to have it closed and i think they shold all post here why they want it to stay open

i also want to say one reason this could be a prank is that there is a contest posted that will end at the end of this month

I agree this is very mean to do and say it is mine and other kids fault. this has to be a prank and btw i agree with alpha there is that contest. It is very mean to blameus for that. I fell very mad right now knowing this is a prank.

Two reasons why I'm fairly sure this is an April Fool's Day joke:

1. The DIS boards are NOT responsible for what happens here in the same way that VMK is claiming to make that game as safe as possible; whether the member is a child or an adult. I've been a DIS board member for over 5 years and have never seen an issue like this come up before. Of course, there have never been this many young people on the DIS before...lol.. But I don't believe that really changes anything. This is a public forum, with no promise of information or child protection, as far as I've ever seen.

2. Mal just posted about that contest this morning I would think they'd have let Mal know about this board being shut down, before posting it here. And she (Mal) posted on her contest thread at exactly the same time that this was posted. EXCELLENT contest, by the way I'll be cutting tiny Cape people out to bring with us to WDW next month

I'm not one for jokes... I personally don't like them. If this is a joke, I don't think it's funny, and I apologise to any child (or adult) who is feeling upset over this. If this *isn't* a joke...well then...
