I like the front of her dress. I don't care for the back being a completely different color. It's like they couldn't afford to do the whole dress in red sparkly fabric. Fine, but then do the back in a plain red.

I really like how the winning actors really give acknowledgement to the actors who inspired them during their early years.

Colin Farrell (The Penguin)

I'm glad to see Colin Farrell getting some love... I always thought he was underestimated as an actor.

Totally agree. I think he was overlooked early in his career because he was such a party boy. He has matured and grown as an actor and a person.

I remember decades ago, early in Colin's career, that there was a new (and one time) Oscar host, who during his opening monologue bashed Colin. He said how this show was awarding great actors, not actors who can't act, like Colin Farrell. And I don't think he was joking about Colin.

Colin wasn't at the awards that year as he wasn't in a movie. I don't think he had ever been nominated. Then upon watching, or waking up the next morning, if he was in England or Ireland, and hearing he had been bashed on the Oscars for being a BAD actor, must have really been crushing in a way. Probably like when Demi said during her GG speech some agent told her she only had the talent to do fluffy stuff, and that affected and stayed with her for so many years.

Selena Gomez was so funny walking up to the stage! "I've got to talk! I don't want to talk!" It was so easy to read her lips.

Too bad no Martin Short or Steve Martin there to accept

Both of them have waited so long, hoping for this award.

I know! It seems like they usually have attended when nominated. I know Martin Short is ill

And they have sat through so many of these awards shows and lost season after season. The one time they skip… they win!

Marty has Covid and he likely passed it to Steve at this point. They were together all night at the SNL 50th.

That means Meryl Streep likely has Covid too. She's been seeing Martin now.

I was just telling my husband this earlier. Definitely watching it soon.

Me too. Especially now that the real Pope is having health problems. We all may be watching the real life choosing of a pope again.

Jane Fonda is 87 years old. Wow. I sincerely hope I'm that feisty if I'm lucky to reach it.

That was a great package of her collection of work.

Her speech so far is great.

I want Jane Fonda's plastic surgeon. You know she's so feisty that she threatened him/her within an inch of their life of they screwed up her face and made her look all stretched out and "Hollywood."

I have a feeling she may get her face done in Switzerland or some place where they make women look natural.

Jane Fonda told people they didn't need to wonder how they would react in certain historical events... because they had now.

She was addressing her activism and called on others to stand up for what they believe in.

Netflix finally posted Jane Fonda's acceptance speech for Lifetime Achievement, but not the segment before which shows her vast career. I would have loved to have seen that part especially after you guys mentioned how many movies she has done.
