The SAG Awards have been renamed, err, un-named from the Screen Actors Guild Awards to simply the "Actor Awards." In the past, when handing out the nude, green man award, the presenter has always said, "The Actor goes to. . ."

Good News: The Red Carpet can be watched on E! as usual.

Bad news: The SAG Actor Awards show (and their own version of a pre-show Red Carpet) are being streamed only on Netflix by subscription. No other services or free links. So, those of us who do not have Netflix are out of luck. (Unless you do their free trial.)

The SAG Awards are being hosted by Kristen Bell for a third time.

Harrison Ford will receive the SAG Life Achievement Award presented by friend Woody Harrelson.


Load up on munchies & drinks, wine & booze welcome. Including the Red Carpet, it can be 2 - 4 hours, depending on when you arrive & how long you stay! Drop in and out at any time.

East Coast (EST):
The Red Carpet starts at 6PM (EST) on E!
Netflix's own pre-show, "The Actor's Red Carpet" starts at 7PM on Netflix.

The Award Show starts at 8PM (EST) on Netflix.

West Coast (PST):
The Red Carpet starts at 3PM (PST) on E!
Netflix's own pre-show, "The Actor's Red Carpet" starts at 4PM on Netflix.

The Award Show starts at 5PM (PST). on Netflix.


The OSCARS is on regular ABC in TWO weeks, so if you don't attend tonight for either the Red Carpet or the award show, hopefully we will all get together then.

May I make a small rant about the name change of the awards? They may have always said "The Actor goes to..." but the ceremony was still the Screen Actors Guild Awards. "The Actor Awards" is horribly generic. When I first heard about the change a few months ago I couldn't understand why they did it. It's so bland.

FWIW, I'm rooting for Jessie Buckley, who won a BAFTA last week.

Oh, one more rant: Why do the Cast Award nominations include Noah Jupe for "Hamnet" but not Jacobi Jupe? Yes, Noah does an excellent job in the last 10 minutes of the film, but for pity's sake, his brother plays the title character and was wonderful. Anyone know why he got left out??
