Why have a link for Viewing New posts if the search function has been disabled by the administrator??? Sometimes it actually works but if you view a post from this search you can go back to the original post, and then you get this stupid message

Has some moderator started playing god by enabling then disabling it????

I noticed that the other day. I did a search, and thought, "Hm, it must be up a running now." Then, went back and was given the terrible message. I haven't tried since cuz I thought it was just me or my computer.

I've noticed that it often goes down at certain times of the day. Usually in the morning and early afternoon here in Italy it works....y'all are usually sleeping then and then when it gets to the later afternoon or evening here, alot of times it doesn't work. Haven't been able to figure out the rhyme or reason of it, but would love to know if it is actually shut down at certain times for a certain reason. Maybe one of the mods could give us the skinny.

I usually think the dis is a tease because I can start a reply, and I'm typing away, I hit send and I get the server busy message instead.

The way I understand it, is that it automatically shuts down when the boards are busy, in order to keep the boards running as quickly as possible. Try searching early in the morning or later in the evening.

when this happens to me, I try again in a few minutes and it often works. I always take it as a sign that the boards are busy. I have been so lucky and haven't seen the server busy message for months. knock on wood, lol
