Don't get me started on talking about yeasties... ewwwwwwwwwwwww shudder. Haven't had one of those for a few years now ** knock on particle board** don't want to either.


One year when Justin was little, we went out to the zoo on a hot day.. by the next day ALL three of us had yeasties. It was horribe.

There's a reason why I have a sizeable stack of cotton undies, especially in the summer!

I heard that is very rare amongst males. Women tend to get that when taking antibiotics. My OBGYN told me that thongs and undies that are not cotton and up to fruit of the loom standards is a no-no! I wouldn't wear fanny floss anyways!

I only wear cotton undies... but just because they are comfy.

Me too, very comfy. Costco sells them and I also like the ones from American Eagle.

Alex had a yeast infection when he was a baby. Ugh... that was fun. but they gave me an awesome cream that cleared up diaper rash in about a minute.

Really? I haven't met any males that have had that. I had it before from taking antibiotics. It's horrible and I can't stand it. I remember one time the pharmacy tech snickered at me when he read what I was picking up (1 diflucan pill). I was sooo mad I transferred the meds to a different location. The location I picked it up from asked why I had it transferred and they told that was very unprofessional and I think the pharmacist there scolded that pharm tech.

He wasn't amused. We've caught/killed a few out on our patio, hubby is afraid of them .. and bees.

Babies can get it easily, diaper rash that doesn't heal up and turns to yeast if the conditions are right.

Yeast can be anywhere skin surfaces rub/contact and get sweaty-- inner thighs, butt, underarms, under B oo bs

Yep... I am NOT sure, but it is like thrush. Am I right Bernice? He had it in his mouth.. Common for babies, and a month or 2 later, had it on his boy parts. It was just a rash for him though. I dont think I have ever had one, but my mom gets them a lot.

What a jerk!! I cant believe he would do that!! People in that sort of profession are NOT supposed to laugh like that.

When I went to the Hospital for my mc, my nurse was a girl I used to work with at Best Buy. I ALMOST asked for a new nurse, because I knew her, and I thought that would be really uncomfortable.. but i didnt, and I am glad I didnt, because she was wonderful. She was so nice about everything, and didnt even bat an eye at anything that happened. I know that I was a little grossed out by it.

We were on the porch one night, and a preying mantis fell on dh. He has been creeped out by them ever since. It is so much fun for the rest of t he family though.

Yep. I was still trying with him, and the dr. told me not to get scared if I started to turn purple. The meds he took would make that happen.

If your immune system is messed up -- HIV, cancer, trasnplant meds.. it makes you more prone to yeasties. There is such a thing as a systemic yeast infection, but most docs will say it's very rare.

It's one of the beliefs that children with autism have issues with yeast and other digestive problems .."leaky gut" syndrome.
There are special diets to help the body get rid of the yeast/not make more and then you follow up with nystatin by mouth, killing off the yeast. The therory is that it needs to be a slow process, a large yeast kill off can cause more behaviour issues.

I think there is some merit to the diet concerns, health and behavior. And this can apply to everyone. I know I feel icky and irritable if I don't eat right.

Huh. Thats interesting. See... I am just starting to learn that diet and things can effect all the other stuff. I Mean, besides the obvious.. cake and burgers made me fat kinda stuff. The one thing that bothers me is the amount of chemicals in our diets. It really bothers me. Thats why I try so hard to make everything from scratch for the family.
