No laughing from you foodies, please (Tinkermell), but I was just watching an Italian cooking show on PBS. The host is an Italian-American woman, and the first part I saw was soooo simple, even I could make it! :rotfl:

She boiled a pot of spaghetti, then pulled some out and put it in a big wide/shallow bowl. She scooped a bit of the pasta water out of the pot and dropped it onto the pasta in the bowl, then sprinkled the pasta with a handful of finely grated romano cheese. Then she mixed it up to coat the pasta a bit with the melting cheese, adding more handfuls of cheese and a bit more pasta water until the cheese was gooey and sticking well to the pasta. THEN she sprinkled the pasta with freshly ground pepper, making sure to toss it in a bit at a time, then stirring up the pasta, so you didn't have all the pepper in one spot.

It looked really yummy, and so easy! I have no idea what it's called though, do you know? Probably something obvious, like pasta romano. :rotfl:

HELLO HYENAS!

OMG, their lunch is the BEST!! I am the one that made Lynn try it, now she's converted!!!

Make the PS, if you don't make it then it's no biggie, but atleast make it!! We are doing Wed. lunch there since we leave Tuesday now!

Andrea
Peer pressure here!! I'm the head of that department, didn't you know that?

Yeah! i guess I need to try it for lunch too. I just want to make sure I get my corndog, and bacon wrapped asparaus in there too somewhere. :rolleyes1

Andrea, what are your dates? Do you mean you arrive at DL on Tuesday, or leave (to go back home) Tuesday? I thought your family was leaving on... Saturday? I bet you mean arriving Tues, then.

We love lunch at CC also. The grown-up sandwiches are yummy, the kids meals are cute (little bitty hotdogs or hamburgers, smiley face fries)

I think the item I get is a turkey-bacon croissant, very yummy. DH loved the (club?) sandwich on pretzel bread, I think it is...

How about macaroni and cheese??

I don't even know what you call it, and my Grandmother was full blooded Italian. :rolleyes1

Exactly!

I had hubby try Bengal BBQ, he made an icky face :lmao:
I can go there only when I am on my own.

THe Turkey on Pretzel bread with the whole grain mustard mayo is my absolute FAVORITE sandwich in all of DL. I get the 1/2 of that with the 1/2 of soup that I sent to Tinkermell (Baked potato cheddar~!) and that is my idea of a fabulous lunch! And relatively healthy!

Andrea

Okay, kids, now I really have to leave. Need to mail some UPS stuff for Boss since he's gone, then pick up kiddos at school. See ya later!

Andrea

Realtively.. except for the cream in the soup.. but hey, you're at DL.. calories don't exist in my happy place, how about you? ;)

Yeah, NO WAY DH would be able to eat that soup! But it sounds yummy to me!

I'm always too hot to eat soup at DL, though. If it were like 50F, then I could eat soup...

Hence the word pretend and the :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Though I wasn't sure of the no kids thing.. hmmm, another person for us to torutre ... errr I mean peer pressure.

;) Just kidding.

Turn on Food Network ladies.. Princess cake competitions at WDW!

Some are HUGE life size!

I'm not totally against raising a kid but I do not want to have one. Maybe someday I'll adopt one. For now I just get to spoil my neices.

Are the corn dogs the one from DCA? I like their cheese on a stick. Mmm!

What do you mean Megan might not do the VIP tour. :sad2:

Me thinks I need to catch up around here, but I just don't have the time.

And Bernice since you are on, I have to tell you that Huntington Beach is our favorite SO Cal Beach. We love all of the stuff going on there. If you haven't tried them yet, go to one of the snack booths by the pier and order the Cheese strips. They have been serving them since I was in HS. The first chips and salsa I had ever had. The sauce is kind of on the sweet side, but good. They are all over down there. And make sure the chips are warm. Yummy!!!! Then go up the street from the pier and try the Sugar Shack for breakfast or lunch. Super food, and it's where all the locals go. :goodvibes

we used to love eating corndogs! But I've never had one from DL. Why are they so good? Are they bigger? Are they using some special batter or something?
