Yeah, unfortunately schools know (and do) less than they should.
Are the counselers you contacted saying no because you don't have a diagnosis??
It may take a bit of road trip to a developmental ped to get the ball rolling.
Exactly, they want a diagnosis from a developmental ped, and then they would go from there. The crazy thing is I talked to DS's preschool teacher and she does not believe that it is autism or aspergers...just a severe speech delay. Either way the medicine is controlling the behaviour, I will work with the schools (if they think it is apraxia then they need to give him more speech therapy, and I will be letting them know this) I will still try a developmental ped...the problem is the more I research autism the more I realize they don't really do too much for it
