There's that lettuce again....Hmmmm?????

Tonight we are going to school to work on the Halloween Parade float(which Im going to try to send DH and get out of).

Tomorrow is Colton's last soccer game at 9:00 am, likely in the rain, and since Cam's team made the playoffs, he has a game at 10:00, again, likely in the rain. He's playing the 1st place team and we came in 4th...I'm not too confident. :scared: Then I'll be running some errrands, working, and possibly heading back to school for more float work if needed.

Sunday is the big parade. You have to understand this is like a huge event in this city, LOL! It's all day event, people have parties, they line up chairs the night before (Id like to see that in WDW, LOL), its crazy. But my kids have been on the float the past 2 years and I've walked it with them, but I think I will watch this year and see if DH will walk it. My leg has been sore and while the walking isnt the issue, we have to arrive at 11:00, it doesnt start until 1:00 and even then depending where we are we may not move until 2:00 or after. So standing there for 3 hours always gets me sore and with this pain, I'd rather not aggravate it. Plus I'll get to see my nieces walk since they are in for the HS dance team. Then after the parade we all go to my parents house for dinner (one of those crazy parade day traditions:laughing: ).

As always, the excitement doesnt stop.

Katie:

Sounds like fun! :thumbsup2

Pictures of floats and parade please :goodvibes

Hey all... It's raining, it's raining, it's pouring!!:cool1: We've actually had like 2 or 3 days of rain in a row this week...most we've had since April they said!

No parade here...but we DO have a lot going on for Halloween! We have to finish our Halloween decorating this weekend. We put SOME stuff out last weekend (our skulll & crossbones flag from the POC store, some of the ghoul stuff and the tombstones etc)...but then we ran out of time and didn't finish the windows yet...and then we also have some stuff that we don't want to get wet so we wait to put it out once we know it won't rain on it (my pirate guy thing and our coffin that DH built a few yrs. ago). Actually, we also don't like to have anything out that's super cool over the Sat. nite prior to Halloween 'cuz it seems like that's when the teenagers are all out driving around doing things they shouldn't and I think sometimes they steal things "for fun". We had some stuff disappear on a Sat. nite a few years ago...so we don't put everything out so early any more. We have a lot of last minute setup to do ON Halloween too (fog machine, boom box hidden with spooky music / sounds playing and we also put up a sheet over one of our garage doors and we put a projector inside the garage & we show old B & W horror flicks on the "screen" during trick or treat). We are the "haunted house" in our 'hood!:goodvibes

Next week is the real fun. After trick or treating ends we all bring our folding chairs, coolers with our beverage of choice and our neighbor brings out their fire pit and we gather in the court out front & drink & eat munchies while the kids plop in our driveway on blankets like they're at the movies and we play more movies & make popcorn for them & we all just hang out until whenever (later if it's a weekend of course).

Also as part of our traditional Halloween...we're all going to this local orchard place on Tues nite (there's 7 families I think & it's usually on the weekend before, but one family couldn't go then so we moved it to Tues. this yr.) & we have a spot reserved up in the field somewhere where we'll have our own private bonfire (& probably our own private port-a-john:rotfl:) & we'll cook hotdogs & make smores and they come & pick us up with a haywagon & take us on a hayride thru the woods / pumpkin patch (and again we all bring our beverages of choice). So it's just a lot of hanging out...OH, and jello shooters! The grownups all get jello shooters!:lmao: It's tradition!

Renee!! I heard this is REALLY good Zin..one of the guys here says it tastes like a $100 bottle of wine

I am going to look for it this weekend
Costco has it :teeth:

TZM and I would be happy to test it out with you.

:lmao:

We're skipping giving out candy this year by going to a hockey game on Halloween. :teeth:

We've heard that 3.5yo nephew is going to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween and his 20mo old little sister is going to be a flower (the plant kind, not the skunk kind).

Still waiting to hear what 2yo niece will be...

Hi dudes!

Happy weekend!

(Happy Weekend?? Is that even a phrase? Who says that?)

I think I'll just kick back and watch some football with the cat this weekend!

Wow those are some activity filled Halloweens coming up. The East Coast likes their Halloween. Annie I think the Saturday "fun stuff" you refer to is called "Hell night" in NJ. We always thought that was odd. Give the teenagers an actual night to go out and destroy things.:confused3

I think the East Coast whoops it up on Halloween because that is the beginning of the end of the year for them. After that its just too darned cold to give a hoot what goes on outside. :) But that is just one warm weather fan talking....;)

Beano - good idea. I concur with your plan. That cat has the right idea.

Ryan is Cleopatra this year. Yes, only my 7 year old would come up with Cleopatra. Linden does not have a costume.

Must get to football picks....

CamColt - we still have 3 soccer games left. I get to coach again this weekend as coach is going to be in Las Vegas with his competitive league boys team. :sad2: And it's "silent saturday" which means I cannot even yell at them. What is the point I ask you?

RJ - cool pumpkin. Is it yours?

Um...that is all. I think. Neil and I are playing in the Halloween Golf Tourny Saturday night which should be fun. We start at 4pm and play a 9 hole tourny with an orange ball-each 4 person team gets 2 balls. Lose them and you are out. Then break for prime rib dinner and then at 7 pm head back out to play a 9 hole tourny in the dark. Yes, in the dark. Think glow in the dark balls and lots of glowing bracelets. You are allowed a flashlight or spotlight to line up your shot and then the light has to go off. Again, lose your golf ball and you are done. It is ALOT of fun. But having not played much in the last year...it should be interesting.

OK off to have dinner with friends. Everyone have a great Friday night.:grouphug:

WITH adult beverages, right?!?! If I golfed that would be fun...I can drive the cart tho! Although by the back 9 you'd probably have to yell "4" to get out of the way of my "adulterated beverage" driving!:rotfl2: Have fun!

("in NJ"? R U from Jersey in a previous life?!)

that picture is hysterical!!

I'll be spending the weekend packing for our cruise and getting everything in order.
Steve says he'll have a beer or two for ya Beano while we are on board :lmao:

Happy weekened everyone. Soccer ends on Tuesday, so only two more games (Steve has done an awesome job of coaching those kids this year--not bad for a rookie.)

Cheri, are things getting back to normal out there for you? I certainly hope so.

 to everyone.
Sue Ellen

Ok, I gotta ask...what is Silent Saturday? Good luck Johnna!

Great job, Steve! :cheer2: Peter coaches Colt's team too...it's such a joke, LOL!

Well Im not thrilled right now. I got up at 6:15, worked out, just sat at the computer while I have my bagle, and in comes the email....games are cancelled!!!! I COULD STILL BE IN BED!!!! Well at least I have more time now to do everything I need to get done this weekend, but I'd rather a little more sleep! So now we do it all again next weekend! :headache:

:headache: Set the alarm for 6:30 & got up in the dark / rain to get DH & DS up, fed & out 'cuz they were supposed to go on a hike with the scouts. They were supposed to meet at 8:00 to go to Great Falls, VA to this place called the "Billy Goat Trail" that runs along the Potomac. Well, it's still raining - so I was digging out boots & rain coats etc & DH says I don't think this a good idea 'cuz it's gonna be a mess. Muddy, slippery, leaf covered rocks - and right on the river. Dangerous he says...the water will be high now - not a good time to rock climb. OK. Fine. I think he just wanted to go back to bed.:sad2: Meanwhile, DS & I are up & WIDE AWAKE now!:sad1:

:rotfl2: You & me both!

ROFL Annie! Darn rain!

I just made the same remark to DH...I got up in the dark on a Saturday and thats wrong!!! I do it all week long, but not weekends! And now it was for nothing.

So my plan now is around 2:00 will be nap time! (yeah right!)

Right there with you both! Up in the dark. Ain't right ever really but on a Saturday really blows.

Hope the rain slows down a bit for you back there. I heard parts of the east will get between 2 - 10 inches. Get out your row boats! Seriously be safe.

CamColt - Silent Saturday was thought up by the soccer board of morons. No yelling. Supposed to encourage kids to just play the game. Which is what I thought they were doing every Saturday. I think it's "abuse free saturday" for the refs. I don't like it.

Annie - NJ - yes in a previous life. DH finished grad school out here and took a job with R & D Dept of then Mobil Oil. Paulsboro, NJ. We lived in Marlton for a year "getting used to the area" and when we came to the personal realization NJ was a hole. We fled to nearby PA and lived in the country.:thumbsup2

Everyone have a great Saturday. It's going to be a long one here I think since we gotta do the Halloween golf thing. All in the name of fun I suppose.:cool2:
