If it makes you feel better thats not really the countdown to Christmas, just to my early December trip. You have a couple more weeks left to shop after that.

Hey there...hope everyone had a good Saturday...I am POOPED - think I'm gonna call it a day soon. It was a very productive one at least...lots of cleaning, laundry AND I defrosted the freezer today! There has been something wrong with the defroster in our freezer in the frig. for QUITE AWHILE now...and I finally decided to tackle it today. Took everything out & stored it in the new cooler (quite handy I must say). Then I chipped away at it & stood there with the hairdryer & a doz. or so dish towels for literally 2 1/2 hours trying to melt all the ice!!! There was this HUGE solid wall of ice behind the freezer wall (so it was inside the darn thing) & it was BULGING out SEVERAL inches (go ahead - say it - so open)! Anyway, it was bulging so far that the hose for the ice maker was no longer reaching the ice maker - it was just making icicles...it was a real MESS!! I really don't want to call GE to repair it tho...so we will watch it & see how long it takes to build back up...I might get a few more months out of it! Maybe?!

TZM and Ophie got to spend time with the "Nut" and her IH (who is not so invisible anymore). "Nut" made some good spaghetti and since I don't cook ice cream, we went to Friendly's to have some sundaes and such. Hope y'all had a good evening.

Morning! Hey CamColt (or anyone else with lots of WDW dining experience) need some dining advice!! Just spent forever on the phone with dining res this am.... The only things FOR SURE are Boma on Sun. eve. @ 7:30 and Char. breakfast @ AK @ 8:10 on Tues AM...

DH is getting irritated at all of my plans as it makes the whole trip so scheduled. I'm like don't blame me - blame the DDP! OK, usually when we go to Epcot to see Illuminations & we go to that first little counter service place (the Cantina or something) in Mexico. We go around 5:30-6:00, grab a table outside, eat & then we sit there drinking all evening until the show. It works OK - but DS gets bored & the patio gets crowded... I just found an open ressie @ the Rose & Crown for 6:50 on Fri. eve. The ressie girl suggested going around 6:30 to check-in & ask for an outside table...she thought that we'd prob. get seated a little after 7:00 & that we could stretch our dinner until 9:00. Don't think we've ever eaten at Rose & Crown & there's also no guarantee we'll be able to get an outside table. Which plan do you think would work best & which meal would be best?! (We can get 20% off @ Rose & Crown with our DDE card...)

Next up - we have dinner ressies on 2 nites at 2 places for the Fantasmic show & I need to cancel some! I'm leaning toward leaving our last nite completely open to do whatever we feel like - esp. since we have to check in with SW at 6:45 pm. Anyway, for Mon. eve. we have a choice of 4:50 at Hollywood & Vine or 5:10 @ the Brown Derby. We've never eaten at the Brown Derby...is it worth the extra cost? Both ressies are too early for our preference, but that's all they had at the time I made them. But which place would you do? I know DS will like H & V.....

OK, final decision on what to do on Thurs afternoon when we arrive. We have to go somewhere to exchange our certificates for our AP's. I was thinking we could go over to Downdown Disney. Then while we're there, DS can do his Disney Quest thing he wants to do...and we could grab something to eat. Have never eaten anywhere there, at all. Can get a lunch ressie @ Cap N' Jack's at like 1:50 or 2:35 OR dinner at 5:45 or 8:40. OR we could go to Wolfgang Puck's - the only 2 openings there are at 4:30 or 9:30. What do you suggest? We can get 20% off at Cap N Jack's anytime Suppose we should try to use that thing huh since we bought it?!

Suggestions...advice...likes...dislikes....?!?!?!? Anybody?!

Okay I haven't posted in forever (sorry) so much going on! I wanted to make sure to post here too that Disney has changed the policy for back to back cruisers. You can no longer stay on the ship and now must get off by 9:00 a.m. and you can re-check in and board at 10:30 a.m.
I haven't had a chance to read all of the posts that I have missed, so if this has been mentioned sorry.

I hope you all are well. Maybe I'll get my crap in order soon so I can catch up wtih all of you.

Sorry Annie - I got nothing. Only been to WDW once. I am sure the experts here can help though. I do think leaving the last night free is an excellent idea. Does that help?

I am going to go get a yummy ham & cheese croissant from Barista's downtown. Then go get a coffee at Starbucks. I don't like Barista's coffee but their food is good! Yep, downtown Tracy. Hip, happening place. Should be a hoot.

Really wanna work in the yard today. Baby willing of course. And then this afternoon a BBQ with BF's family before they head off to Tahoe for a week.

Anyone besides me excited for FOOTBALL SEASON!?

LOL, Sue Ellen. I totally understand. And yes, we have all been up in arms over this change. Not a good thing at all! Ok Annie I don't think I will be much help but Ill try. Rose & Crown...a while ago (like years) I know they changed the policy to no longer accepting requests (even at check in) for outside tables. I don't know if this has changed back or not. As long as you will be eating/drinking I don't see a problem with sitting at a table in Mexico. My preferred option for Illuminations when eating earlier is about 1 hour out grab a bench somewhere in the Italy area. Send 1 person to the stand to purchase dessert, like yummy cannolis, and some drinks, they have great Bellinis there, sit and enjoy those...maybe get a second drink, and before you know it, its show time.

Ive never done either H&V or BD since we always eat at Mama Melrose. Sorry.

I've never tried Captain Jacks because we dont eat seafood but we really like Wolfgang Pucks.

Sounds like a good day in store! Enjoy! I'm excited for football season, somewhat, but I'm more excited for hockey season to get going(even though my team stinks!). Its the only good thing about winter!

Actually, you CA peeps might know the answer to a question I have. Is public transportation exempt from the car seat law? I know it is in some states, but I need to know CA specifically. I know busses like the DL Resort Express don't have seat belts so car seats obviously wont work there, but is that the out...they are exempt?

Actually, I hope to get out there in February, if I can find some decent airfare. It's outrageous. Even not going all of vacation week and the kids missing 2 days of school the next week we are still looking at almost 450.00 each! I think thats the best we will do as other prices are in the 6-7 range. OUCH!

But that's not for me though, Colt will be 8 by then so Im done with those seats. Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

Well, I thought I was juuuust about done with this year's vacation DVD, and then one of the applications decided to eat my video files. So, as soon as I stop screaming, I have to work on restoring and/or recapturing everything and starting over. Oh boy.
