Thanks... we want to go to some of the beaches as well...maybe a couple...I think it will be too cold in Late Oct. ... Do you know when the beaches close down for swimming?

I don't think the Beaches do close down. I know they surf year around and I know we swam at HB during a Paintball Tourny in Feb .

We did Mission, Huntington Beach ( HB),San Monica Peir,Venis beach and a few others that I can't recall.

The Keeper of the List will add you if he misses you just PM him and he will see it gets done

Welcome and yes it is a very nice thread if I do say so myself.

Gotta add me to the list.

Although I would use the umbrella. :lmao:

82. Your passion for Disney is strong but you would rather get soaked before using your wife's/daughter's Tinker Bell umbrella.

In So. Cal people go to the beach year round. While there are many good places to find average temps - just know that cold in So. Cal takes on a very different meaning than COLD anywhere east of the Rockies. Last Christmas my SIL was complaining about the very warm, warm temps (I seem to recall she said it was in the mid 80's that week - not very Christmasy). Growing up there, I remember special beach outings and parties, etc throughout the year, not just in the traditional spring or summer months. The Pacific is warmer than the Atlantic anyway, so it "shouldn't" be a problem when you're there.

I need to get in on one of these Disneyland trips again someday. I recall being there in 1980 but I was too young to remember it all. I remember having a great time there and at Knottsberry Farm so I am eager to take my boys (oh yeah and my wife Lisa - tell her I said that and I will deny it) there someday. I love Disney World though. My youngest is 8 months and he will be just over a year when we get there for our Sept 26th - Oct 12th excursion during the Food and Wine Festival. I'm going with my father in law who really should be in this group as well. I can't wait to see the smiles on my boys' faces when we get there, especially our new dude!! If anyone needs weather forecasts before heading out on a trip let me know. I work at WeatherBug and have access to some of the best Mets in the business.

Thanks for letting me in the club - I look forward to learning a lot more and might run a few things by you all for input form time to time. My wife is the expert but going to WDW about 15 times in the last 6 years qualifies me as one too I think. If anyone else is down there from Sept 26th - Oct 12th or Dec 27th - Jan 5th let me know. The first round in the countries is on me (we do a lot of that too).

Oh Yeah I'mNoPrince, we're all over this one and it should have an even better HD Cam soon. I'll check what's going on with it and post once I hear. I don't expect it will be down for too much longer and it should be much improved very soon!! Check out my signature and the same camera should be available there soon.

Newport is an excellent beach for families, plus there's a pier to walk out on. Laguna Beach is a wondeful beach for atmosphere - the community is an artsy one. Both are about 15-25 min from DL (Newport's closer - both are south). Huntington Beach is another great beach, a bit west, about 15-20 away, is excellent - but it is surfer kingdom, if you will...the Surfer's Walk of Fame is located in H.B... but it's also good for families. You don't "have" to surf in So. Cal :rotfl: but you will see surfers all over the place at the ocean.

Wow this is awesome and now I can have Boardwalk music in the background for a week!!!

Love it - thanks for the heads up!!!

I've had the cam on all morning playing in the background. I didn't tell my DW it was on and went I went to pick up our DD from her friend's house this morning, the live feed kicked in and nearly scared my DW to death. When I arrived home my DW said, "Your laptop said good morning to me as I was walking out of the bathroom." :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My DW didn't think it was so funny......:headache:

I want in! I went to Disneyland three times in the past twelve months and it's a long way from Bremerton, WA. Our last trip we took Vickie's daughter Karen, Karen's dad, Bill (yes Vickie's ex-), and Annie, age 32 days and Lucky age 20 months. Lots of diapers, lots of fun?

Do I get in?
