Tell me how stupid I am..

Ok, some of you guys know my deal. I just returned from Iraq...I'm a civilian Federal Agent (NCIS--Tuesday CBS, 8 Pm, we have our own show), and had anticipated leaving NCIS for the *another agency* (got hired)....

THEN...I got promoted with NCIS (nice pay raise and control of my future), THEN, I realized I would take a 25-30K pay cut with the *other agency*...

Down side--two more 120 day trips to Iraq (I've already been 4 times)--but I have control over my future--especially as a supervisor...and I guess you could say I'm on my way up after 7 years (was prior SC police officer)...

I just couldn't go to another 6 month training course, taking that pay cut, starting ALL OVER AGAIN at the bottom, with no control over where I'm going (they could've moved me across the country)....not with a 4 month old at home...heck the pay cut affected my retirement too..

I know, sounds like a no brainer, right....the other agency is rather famous....but I guess I'm somewhat..

Oh well, sorry guys, just rambling , had to talk it out....

Nope you come and talk it out when ever you want.

I thought of you last night watching SuperNanny. the husband there was like you going over every few months for a few months at a time. The wife was a wreck with the 3 kids at home.

Again thank you and give the Wife a big hug tonight from all the Disney Dad's as we know how hard she has it in supporting your career. If anyone else saw that show they would understand what I was saying.

Hi, I just found this club and I want to join. I have a newborn grand daughter and my Son will be 5 in Oct that I want to bring up Disney. Yes my daughter is 24 she went to Disney a couple times and my son is 5 (from my second marraige). He may go for the first time in Dec. we shall see.

I wanna join!!!!
I have a 4YO daughter and a 1 year old son. We are new DVC members @ SS and I lost count of the number of dmission criteria I meet!

I'm not sure how many of the criteria I meet. I stopped counting at 10.

Count me in. My wife just doesn't understand. But the kids think I'm the cool Dad!

Ok, so I finally have an amendment to add to the club list... experienced it first hand this morning...

...you keep your Mickey Mouse umbrella in the car/truck and proudly use it while walking in to your office during a rainstorm.

Just wanted to check in and let all the DIS dads know the family is doing well. We're waiting for our December trip and can't wait to go back home. It is cool that this thread is at 100 pages!!!

I just discovered this thread thanks to the promo in Dan's (FauntleroyFAN07) signature. I meet criteria # 1, 2, 4, 29, 32 (or at least I'd know the answers if she did ask), 36 (did it on one day of our last trip), and 75.

I have two sons (ages 7 and 1). Here's a couple of photos from our trip last July (and proof that criteria 36 was met...LOL):
