I know this is a long shot but are any Disney dads going to be there Nov 1 - Nov 9?

We depart on the 2nd. :sad2:

So fellow Disney dads - let me ask you...which is your favorite sit-down in World Showcase and why? We always like to try something new in addition to something we've done and liked, and have a few that we want to try, but would be open to persuasion... To date, as a fam we've been to Morocco (love both the food and the dancing!), Norway, China (will be closed when we go) & to Italy (not the new one, the old Alfredo's)...and on my own I've been to Canada. Which of the others would you suggest and why?

Also, anyone been to Jiko? I've been to Yak & Yeti :thumbsup2 , but nothing at the resort yet...

I'll think about ya as you run for both of us - how 'bout that?!?!? :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok, that works...it was really funny last year, my brother and I ran it together (he's 4 years younger, but I'm faster:thumbsup2 ) anyway, we ran back into the park after running outside, and we think we're coming up on the finish at "the hat"....but oh no, the route went back through Lights camera action, then the back lot, then, for some reason, the Sadists that laid out the run (:rotfl: ) had us running UP THE ONLY HILL IN CENTRAL FLORIDA---you know the one, the one that leads into Fantasmic:mad: right before you finish:sick:

As soon as we saw the hat wasn't the finish, me and my brother bothed yelled....OOOOOHHHH NOOOOOOO:rotfl2:

Just found the thread and am glad not only to sign up as a new member but to add the "Disney Dad" logo to my signature.

My DW is the bigger fan but I am not that far behind. We are traveling to WDW this coming Saturday, have a trip planned in July before we visit our sister church in Haiti, and we are scheduled on a seven day cruise on the DCL in 2009 to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

We also plan on using our DVC points to get our DD and DS to WDW with our future grandchildren.

Glad to join a great group like this. Thanks for starting it. :cool1: :thumbsup2

:welcome: and have a good time at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now it's 1640 (440 PM) Eastern Time..........

It's 110 today (nice breeze off the Gulf;) )....Last time I was out here I was here for June, July and August:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

THAT was hot!!!!!!!!!! Even by this Southern Fella's standards.....add 70 pounds of Armor and Equipment...

Sitting in an office for the time being though (except yesterday)....:surfweb:

Guys, I really wouldn't have it any other way (though I am leaving my current Agency--I'm a Federal Agent, out here to advise........foreign law enforcement--for another), and I'm sure my "new agency" will probably want to send me back out here...

I've done 4 tours with my Agency.....Protective Ops on UN Personnel (somewhat fun, but no kids) in Iraq, What we call CITF (hunting Taliban) in Afghanistan (also fun, but no kids), Detainee Operations (hunting Al Qaida) in Fallujah, Iraq (Not fun AT ALL), and now advising....I've seen enough desert to be totally honest with you...

I don't have it nearly as bad as some of my Active Duty Cohorts, and my heart goes out to them everyday (even though I'm right in there with them)...

I've seen good, I've seen bad.....but all in all, I've been proud to "do what I do". My family (even to a point my wife) don't understand--but that's OK, they don't have to....I get it, and it seems that's Ok with them.....

So thank you for all your kind words, I couldn't thank YOU enough, just for the support of me and all those around me...

Oh yeah, and I REALLY can't wait to put my feet up on the Coffee Table (and get yelled at for it:confused3 :rotfl2: ) and watch the specials....

Believe it or not, you miss commercials out here....AFN only shows the Military Approved Commercials...you miss the good stuff:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mike

Thank you.:drinking1 Come home safe

Sounds like a great Plan

We will be doing the same thing for 12 days over the 4th of July time frame. 6 days at each resort will be great I can't wait.

KOHO welcome and join in the Fun

We will be at Fort Wilderness for 3 weeks end of June through first two weeks of July:thumbsup2

:welcome: and have a good time at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the new picture in your signature:thumbsup2

We started the double digit dance this week(less than 100 days till our 3week Disney binge)

I guess I qualify as a Disney Dad....we think our son is too young (3 mos), but my wife and I are planning to return when I get back from Iraq:banana:

It is NEVER to early to start off a new mouse fan:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I took my son on his first WDW trip at about 6 weeks cause it was the only time I would be on leave near them in the next 10 month. (Med. Deployment) By the Way thank you!!!, and all our Service folks here and there!! GOD BLESS all of you

I just read on the thread below that Disney may have possibly named their two new ships already. The names are "Dreams" and "Celebration."

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1763822

as far as I can tell, no one really knows yet these are possible names and probable "project working names" told to us at a DCL meet the officers in Oct. '07

Thanks for the "initiation" guys:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And thanks for the Well wishes, it's 117 degrees and a lot of fighting here in Basrah today----only 14 days left---

This is my Fourth Trip over here, and I can say with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY...it is my last:cool1: :cool1:

Just trying to not get shot and train for the 2nd Annual TOT 13K on 10-25 (ran the the Inaugural last year!)

Y'all don't know how these boards can keep you sane:happytv:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Well,

After talking with my mom and wife, we're talking about taking him now....which would be much easier with grandma I think:cool1:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hopefully it was ok, but I just copied the properties of both from the original post into mine. (Right click the moust on each one, go to properties, and then copy the URL string, then go to edit your sig, and paste).

All,

Please allow me to go off topic for a minute and ask for your help. The DIS Dad's I know will come through.

A friend of mine, John Atkinson, is entered in a contest to play golf at Torrey Pines, site of the US Open this year. He is one of five finalists chosen from more than 56,00 entries. John was diagnosed with lung cancer over a year ago and his mission has become the battle against this and the fight to increase awareness. You can learn more about John and vote at this link, http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/usopencontest

Send a little pixiedust: to John by voting everyday!!!

thanks
bob
